My service from this company has always been excellent. Always with in a timely manner after a call.

Originally signed with this company because they were the least expensive option. Recently, I tried to schedule them to quote installing a new tank/service at a rental of mine but they never called me to schedule, even after I called repeated times over a couple weeks. Also, I recently realized I hadn't gotten a bill from them for quite some time so called to have them check my tank. They did not call me back but did have someone come out and my 100 gallon tank was almost empty- phew...seems to be such a lack-a-dasical company... read more

We are getting missed, too frequently for fill up and now we have run out of gas again. Supposedly they were going to plug a monitor on the tank that would send alerts to them and an app but that hasn't happened and now on Mothers Day, we can't cook, can't take a hot shower, can't run our dishwasher and doubt we will be able to until sometime Monday. I can understand this happening once every 3-4 years but it's now happening several times every year. I'm fed up... Do not use this company - find someone that will put on a monitor. read more

I called on Friday after hours, left a message and they came out on Saturday. They came back on Monday to check for leaks. Shawn with Carolina Gas did a great job. He hooked a pressure gauge up to the piping system and found there was a small leak at the stove. He pulled the stove and re-installed the flex hose. No leaks after that. Shawn gave excellent and courteous customer service and should be given a major raise. I will never buy gas anywhere else. read more

These guys have let me run out of gas over and over and over. Every time they blame it on their workers/drivers. Maybe once it can be the drivers...after that it's the managers. It's the pay scale. It's the organization. read more

They never put us on a route to get gas before we run out, so we always have to call when we run out. And this time I've been calling for 4 days and always an answering machine, never a person. Still waiting. No hot water, no cooktop, can't run dishwasher or take a shower. read more

Ran out of gas on a Saturday morning, called the office to hear a recording saying they wouldn't be open until Monday. Left my information on their answering machine, and a truck showed up an hour later to fill our tank. Love these people! read more

How unfortunate that I have to write this, but Carolina Gas has been less than impressive. We currently use Blue Flame and, after doing our research, really wanted to switch over to Carolina Gas because Blue Flame is so expensive (if you use Blue Flame, check your gas rates - way higher than they should be!!). We called 6... SIX times to try to get Steve to come over and switch the tanks out... every time he promised he would be right out to check on our tank and switch it out. And every time, we were left wondering where he was. After the sixth time, we decided to not call again, because obviously his lack of responsiveness would be indicative of his level of service in keeping our tank filled. If somebody wanted to go into the gas business, there'd be a goldmine of an opportunity because clearly no current gas company in the Mt Pleasant/Charleston area is capitalizing on fair prices and good customer service. read more

We've been using this company for 1 1/2 years. During that time we've ran out of propane 6 times! They deserve 0 stars, & here's why... Times late to work 3, breakfasts ruined 2, dinners spoiled 3, plans destroyed 3, bad start to the weekend 3, angry & frustrated family 6 times. I'm not sure how I should rate them. We have been using this company for 3 years. They are fast at coming out and filling our propane tank. I also like that you can get your tank filled on the weekends (that's all they do on weekends). We wanted to install a new tankless water heater so we needed another propane line run. The company installed the line promptly but forgot to attach the regulator so we couldn't use our tankless water heater (so we had no hot water). The plumbing company actually got the regulator and installed it because the gas company is closed on the weekends and the plumbers didn't want to leave us with no hot water. We smelled gas and we called Carolina gas and reported the problem. A gas leak is a pretty big deal. We left 2 messages and received no call back so after a week we followed up a 3rd time and finally spoke to someone who says they will be out tomorrow to investigate. We shall see. read more

If I could put "no stars" for this company I would. My wife has called at least five times during this most recent request to fill our tank out here in IOP. The constant refrain is "we are so busy but will get out to you" and after about two times that falls flat. If we could switch to a better company we would but Carolina Gas owns the tank. Excellent service from Carolina Gas. We used to have Amerigas refill our propane and were happy with their service. Once Anlmerigas was bought by Blue Flame, service went downhill fast. Our "keep full" service had us run out of propane several times. When we switched to Carolina Gas they were nothing but courteous and the propane cost less to boot. I have now been with Carolina Gas for 4 years or so and would never change back to the big company. I read the negative reviews on yelp and yp and have experienced none of those issues. read more

Absolute worst experience with this company. I called every week for 6 weeks to schedule service. I was told this was the only company that services Ellington Woods in Dunes West so I had no choice but to keep calling. I could not get anyone to even schedule an appointment. Every time I called they took my information and said they'd call me back once they got back from vacation or knew the upcoming schedule. No one ever called back, ever. I guess this is an acceptable practice when you have a monopoly on an area. I'd rather go without than give one dime to this lazy, unorganized company. read more

We had two great experiences with Carolina Gas. We had had service with Blue Flame in a rental house this past winter. Due to an error we made in the utilities transfer, the tank had not been refilled. We we called for service, Blue Flame told us it would be three weeks before they could come by and fill the tank (no heat, hot water or cooktop). We called Carolina Gas. They came that afternoon, installed a new tank and had our heat, stove and hot water working immediately. When we bought a house we used them. And while the issue of not checking/filling tanks regularly mentioned in the other review may have been the culprit, when we ran out of propane they came out within 2 hours of my call (Saturday of Easter Weekend). Hopefully we won't have the issue of running out again. read more
