History
Established in 2000.
The idea of Carolina Custom Solutions came from the constant requests from our clients for custom-built solutions to their renovation projects. We also operate a general contracting company called CCS, and whether it's a vanity, screen door, outdoor kitchen, mirror frame or another idea, we consistently receive requests from our clients during remodeling to create something unique to accent their overall look and feel of their home. As we continued to receive more and more requests, we quickly realized that we had something here that we could build upon, and Carolina Custom Solutions was born.
Since then, we have shifted our focus from general contracting to building custom indoor and outdoor furniture, refinishing existing furniture and providing quality factory-built cabinets with an option for cabinet installation services.

Meet the Business Owner: Randy D.
Originally from Muncie, Indiana, our owner Randy Downing has always had a knack for custom woodworking. Getting his start in general construction at the ripe age of 15, Randy continued to fine tune his craft and worked his way up to lead project management where he was responsible for complete oversight on commercial construction through the Midwest and Southeast regions for a popular general contracting firm.
As busy as that left him, Randy still found time to operate a side business where he was able to work on residential projects that more aligned with his passions. Eventually growing tired of the frigid Indiana winters and not being able to set his own hours, he decided to pack up and relocate to Hilton Head Island in 2000 to launch his own general contracting and custom furniture business full-time.
Randy has been married to his wife Chrissy, a Savannah native, for 10 years counting. They reside in Hilton Head Plantation and love calling Hilton Head Island their home.
