The morning of the funeral, I was told the projector and screen weren't working. Additionally, I planned time for people to share memories of my father. I was again disappointed when the wireless microphones didn't work. We tried making the best of the situation, and did. I would have thought at the very least Matthew would have issued an apology, but he didn't. I should have gone with the original location of the service which was at the church my father attended. But, Matthew sold me on the Davidson's chapel and the amenities.

I witnessed your company van aggressively- and quite intentionally - force its way in between two vehicles that were in line for the Drive Through Holiday Balloon Glow event that raised 2.5 tons of food and supplies for the Statesville community. Your aggressive driving maneuver nearly caused a crash that could have directly negatively impacted the success of this charity event. The event was advertised as 5:00-6:00; however, the traffic getting in was crawling, and some drivers were certainly getting impatient as 6:00 came and went with little movement. That was no excuse, however, to drive like you were somehow more important than everybody else in line that night. As I fully expected, the balloons all stayed, and everyone who was in line got to see them, and hopefully donate! But I'm guessing you probably just came for the show. I have found in life that the way that a person drives is generally a pretty valid reflection of their character. And when that person is driving the company van, that character assessment naturally extends to the company. Based on what I saw that night, there's no way I would ever seek, nor recommend your business. I mean....cutting in line at a charity event?! Who does that!? Do you also steal little kids' ice cream cones when they aren't looking?

Both Roger and Deana went above and beyond to make sure my father's ceremony was exactly what my mother and I wanted. Add to that Jim, the minister who conducted the service, and it turned a difficult moment in life into a special one, that we can look back on fondly. There was zero pushiness, no sales pitches...just a willingness to serve to make the occasion exactly what we wanted it to be. And all of this at a very reasonable price considering all the extra steps, perks and whatnot they offered to provide. They took care of everything, retrieval of the body, the paperwork, walked us through what will need to be done once we have received the death certificate., etc, etc. They even took the extra time to bring the flowers that were next to the coffin to our home. Words cannot adequately express how professional, kind and flexible Lyerly is in how they perform their services. I had the funeral home make all of the arrangements and everything was done in a timely manner. The staff did an excellent job with communication and answering all of my questions. The cemetery itself isn't extremely big as other national cemeteries which means you won't have a problem navigating your way around. There is a grave locator at the entrance which helps you find your loved one. The grounds are immaculate and meticulous and the ground crew maintains everything to a standard befitting our veterans. The ceremony itself was very emotional, the reverence displayed was more than I could've expected. I without a doubt recommend Salisbury VA National Cemetery for your veteran family members.

They have an inside chapel mausoleum that is beautiful. The chapel is large with pews like you would see in a church. The back wall is completely made of stained glass. They also have an outside mausoleum. They offer a neat "flower placement program" where they will place a silk floral arrangement on your loved one's grave either once or on a regular basis. Also, if you are looking for a grave and can't find it just go to the office. The office will print you a small map of the section the grave is located and mark the space so you can find it. The staff is very friendly. The cemetery is very well maintained. They also have several columbarium areas within the cemetery for cremated remains. If you are looking to purchase a cemetery space this is best cemetery around to do so.
