I cannot say enough wonderful things about Carolina Chiropractor Plus. My daughter, Zoey, has a fairly severe case of scoliosis that causes her to be in significant pain on a near-daily basis. After searching high and low for something that could truly help her, we found Carolina Chiropractor Plus--and it has been such a blessing. From the very first visit, the entire staff was welcoming, patient, and incredibly kind. Dr. Garyn is not only extremely knowledgeable, but also genuinely compassionate. Zoey has severe social anxiety and rarely talks to anyone, yet Dr. Garyn never let that be a barrier to providing excellent care. She met Zoey exactly where she was--allowing her to go at her own pace, take her time, and slowly become comfortable. Dr. Garyn has done everything in her power to help slow the progression of Zoey's scoliosis and manage her pain, and the results have been truly life-changing. Zoey now enjoys going to her appointments, feels comfortable enough to go in on her own, and even asks when her next visit will be when she starts to hurt. Best chiropractor in Shelby. I have been seeing this office for over 20 years and they have always taken great care of me.

Carolina Chiropractic convinced my mother that they could "diagnose" and help to "treat" her, charging $1200 for their services. Despite this claim, there is no qualified medical doctor on staff, only chiropractors and a "Functional Medicine Practitioner" (a field of pseudo-science not accepted by the medical community). In other words, there is no one on the staff qualified or licensed to make a true internal medical diagnosis. Despite this, they diagnosed my mother with a "leaky gut" (after a round of completely arbitrary 'pathogen' tests), which is not an accepted medical diagnosis, but rather a condition that can be caused by several chronic illnesses (none of which these chirporactors would be qualified to diagnose, given their lack of an MD or State Medical License beyond that which is required to practice in the chiropractic field). Furthermore, they then "prescribed" a supplement regimen that included several items, from DHEA drops to Oil of Oregano, that lack strong scientific evidence as as being beneficial. Perhaps most heinously, among the recommended dietary additions, were "grass-fed beef" and "organic butter"; this despite the fact that our family has a history of hereditary heart problems (my grandfather had 3 open-heart surgeries to address blockages). Make no mistake, this line of "treatment" would have actively led to the degradation of my mother's health. Be warned before visting this facility that these are not trained MDs, and you should treat them as such. For our part, we are asking for my mother's money back, pro-rated for (useless) services rendered, and are consulting with a qualified medical physician to determine to what extent the actions of Carolina Chiropractic Plus qualify as malpractice. Should the situation not be properly addressed, or malfeasance be determined, we will take the appropriate legal action and report to the State Medical Board. *Update* For anyone wishing to decipher for themselves whether or not Functional Medicine is a widely discredited pseudo-science, often practiced (imo) by those either intellectually incapable of, or lacking in the necessary character to, get an actual medical degree (such as as chiropractors), I encourage you to do the basic research yourselves, as well as consult an actual licensed physician. So here I am, 57 years old, soon to be 58. No shame in that. I am who I am. I've been going to chiropractors since I was a little kid and hurt my neck standing on my head. (Notice the damage was to my neck and not my hard head.) In those 50 some years, I've been to many different chiropractors, but primarily when I found one I liked I stuck with him. Had a good one in Beaver, PA, I went to for years. Took a while to find one when I moved to FL, but I found a good one there and stuck with him for 14 years. Moved to NC, and have been to 3 or 4 different chiro docs here, and I'm not sure if I'm still searching for "the one" I'll stick with until I move back home to Beaver County, PA. That being said, I went to Carolina Chiropractic Plus about two weeks ago. I was impressed with the staff and the facility. The staff was super friendly, and they had a lot of state of the art equipment, all in a very open environment. So open in fact I kind of felt like I was in a barnyard...chickens over here waiting for treatment, horses over there getting e-stim and other therapies, sheep in the waiting room, goats scheduling their next appointment, and I was one of the cattle being herded through the chutes. (I mean no disrespect to anyone, client, doctor, or employee--this is just how I felt.) All I wanted was a good old fashioned bone crushing adjustment. When my muscles tighten up, I really need a good manual adjustment to get things right again. E-stim or therapy before the treatment (which they wisely did) helps, but "little pinger thingies" and other such devices just don't cut it. And that's the direction they were heading. They used their electronic device to decide where I needed my adjustment, and I had to insist on a manual adjustment even though I made it clear from the outset that was my intention. So there I was in the middle of section of a very open room requesting a manual adjustment. I expected to be taken back to an office similar to the one they took me to in order to complete my paperwork and xrays. Instead, I was "herded" onto an adjustment table right there in the middle of that area in front of God and everyone else. Adjustment was very quick as the only areas addressed were those that the "pinger thingy" indicated as needing attention. Two minutes later, I was up and on my way. So my overall impression is: Staff and doctors are very nice, very friendly. They run a tight schedule but it appeared that everyone was on time for their appointment; no one was complaining about them running late. Patients were in and out so quickly that it reminded me of Dorothy Gale of Kansas when she said, "People come and go so quickly here." So if quick is your thing, this is your place. I on the other hand, if I'm going to be "one of the cattle in the chute" waiting to be ridden in a rodeo, want to be where, even if I have to wait a little bit because someone ahead of me is getting that "8 second ride" and a score of 8.5 or higher, I get personal, private (as in not in the middle of the rodeo arena) treatment, and manual adjustments from my axis and atlas down through the lumbar region. Simply put, I don't mind if I have to wait occasionally to get to maintain my privacy and get a full manual adjustment. read more

I have been going to Carolina Chiropractic Plus for over a year now. I am a cosmetologist and have trouble with my back and feet. We started with my back and I now have no back pain but still keep up with my maintenance appointments. We are now working on my feet and they are starting to feel better as well! I have been going to Carolina Chiropractic Plus for over 10 years, When I started going I was having back pain. Ibuprofen wasn't helping, Doctors x-ray did not show anything, yet I was in severe pain. So I started going to Chiropractic plus. At first I had to go everyday for several weeks, then just once a month. I continue to go once a month for routine maintenance. I find that if I do this my back stays in alignment and pain free. thank GOD for Carolina Chiropractic Plus, is all I have to say. While visiting my mom a few days over the holiday season I decided to get a little tune up. I set my intention that I'd find the right place for me. Although honestly I had reservations about the care I'd receive due to the love of my Dr in los angeles. Maaaaaan was I wonderfully surprised!!! My initial phone conversation with dr. daniel setting up my appointment was concise, helpful and felt fully supported. As soon as I walked into the office, i knew i was in the right space. it is clean, well organized and as a place of healing every patient regardless of their physical state of being was in high spirits. And after treatment patients exited with a sense of comfort and pure satisfaction from the treatments received. it was wonderful to witness. the treatment space itself is well set up, spacious and highly efficient. State of the art machines, wonderfully clean and organized. All staff felt connected to patients needs and competent in chiro modalities necessary for each patients individual treatment. Again, sooo wonderful to witness. My adjustment was exactly what i needed. My conversation of my desires was received by dr. rich and he stuck with the game plan I have been achieving in la. The manual adjustment was awesome!!! Perfect I'd say. Dr. rich is obviously versed and well studied. He made his way through my treatment, manipulating my body with gentle grace and total accuracy. A true healer that man is. After care to follow was wonderful as well. Every assistant is well trained, patient and insightful. The experience was so overwhelmingly wonderful that upon completion of my treatment I insisted my mom make an appointment. As i know issues she has with her body will be addressed and healed with this staff for sure. Finally, the price for the all of it was soooo reasonable. And that was when my only reservation came up.
