We could not have selected a better photographer than Carol, period. At our initial meeting with her after our engagement, there was an instant connection and mutual respect. She is very warm and an excellent listener. She truly understood our style and instantly figured out our "likes and dislikes" without us saying much. As the months of planning went on, Carol worked closely with our wedding planner and scouted our venue with her as well, which was extremely helpful and gave us even more confidence that she was not only going to do a fantastic job, but she was *interested* in doing the work! Carol was an absolute joy to work with and we were so lucky to have her as our photographer. We were really nervous about finding someone last-minute after an issue with our original photographer and at the recommendation of the catering director at our venue we contacted Carol. I think it was just meant to be. She had a rare opening on our wedding date and jumped right in helping us and made us feel so at ease. She had fun ideas, but also aimed to take classic, beautiful photos that will never look dated. Even with limited time for photos on our wedding day, she managed to get everything we wanted. She gave great direction for portraits (since we certainly aren't models), captured all the details we took so long to plan, and got great candid shots of us and our guests. We jokingly call her the photo ninja because she's so quick and so good at catching everything without ever being invasive. Plus, she's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Carol is the best of the best when it comes to wedding photography. We could not have picked a better photographer than her, period. From the meetings before the wedding to the day of, everything just felt right. Everyone felt so at ease with her behind the camera. She came up with some fun ideas that didn't feel so staged and boring. At one point she was literally in a closet getting a shot of my husband and I and guess what it worked. Seems like I'm lying to give someone 5 stars, but I cannot think of a reason to deduct any stars (even partial) from Carol's rating. She was immediately welcoming at our first meeting where we set up clear expectations for each other. She was prompt with her followup (even when I was not). Her organization along the way helped me and my husband remain calm and confident that our photography would turn out great. And day of Carol was a joy to be around. Seeing that you spend most of the day with your photographer, it was great to have someone like Carol who was easy going, had her ideas ready to go and even brought props for the photo booth. Our friends have said these are the best wedding photos they've seen (and I agree). And we even got our proofs within a month of the wedding. Amazing all around service. Carol was recommended to us by our wedding planner along with a few other photographers who we liked as well. What set Carol apart was how professional and prepared she was during our initial meeting. She showed us an extensive portfolio that captured different styles so that we were able to create a unique plan of our own with her. After our initial meeting and a couple weeks before the wedding she met with us at our reception site. With our pre-ceremony in Seattle, ceremony in Bellevue and reception at Hotel 1000 she had scouted out various places between Bellevue, Lake Washington, Pike Place, Myrtle Edwards, as well as the best spots around the Hotel to take pictures/first look, etc. - we were so impressed she took the time to even scout out various spots around the church weeks before the wedding to make sure every detail was accounted for. The day of the wedding she was professional and friendly (as well as personable) with everyone, organized and detailed so that even as timelines were disrupted she never missed a beat. Now that we have received our pictures back after the wedding (approx. 1 month) we are happier than ever we chose Carol, the way she captured our day is so unique and the pictures are truly amazing. She set up a slide show of about 500 favorites, invited us over for a glass of wine and we got to go over them together as well as review the packages and available products. If we did our wedding over again Carol would be the easiest choice - our day would not have been the same without her. read more

Carol is amazing. She was so very knowledgeable about our art and worked hard to make sure we had the pictures we wanted on our wedding day. She is prompt and communicative. We had our family portraits taken by Carol Harrold in our home, making for a natural and familiar setup for a photo shoot. My twelve- year old daughter loved the individual portraits of herself, creatively set up and much different than your average school photos. My daughter could not figure out that the photos were taken from the same day because they looked so different in perspective to the moments they were shot. The pictures from the day ended up looking like they were shot for a magazine. Carol, so warm, friendly and artistic, captured the personality of our family and each family member. This was a first time experience for our family and we were a bit nervous about having our photos taken but Carol made us feel comfortable and gave us an experience we would like to repeat from year to year. Carol photographed our wedding this October. She was amazing! I met with her 10 months prior to our wedding and immediately felt comfortable with her. She was so calm, professional, warm, and genuinely interested in our love story and upcoming wedding. I knew right away that I wanted to work with her. We did an engagement shoot in April. My husband and I felt very comfortable with Carol during the shoot, which is really important for your actual wedding day since your photographer is around and close to you a lot. On the wedding day Carol was on time, excited, extremely well prepared, and organized. Carol took charge of all the photo shoots, telling people what to do (always in a warm way), making sure we got all the shots we had on our shot list. It was such a pleasure to have Carol photograph our wedding. She was a calming presence for me and she captured our wedding beautifully. Words cannot describe how fortunate we were to have had Carol as our photographer! Long before the actual wedding day, Carol spent an extensive amount of time communicating with us to make sure she had an excellent understanding of what we wanted and that no important shots or moments were missed. She was open to ideas we had, and offered many excellent ideas of her own. (Some of our favorite photos even came from the informal scout session at our wedding site a couple months before the wedding, as well as from our own backyard which we had no idea looked as stunning as it does in our pictures!). It doesn't hurt that Carol is such a joy to communicate with - she is warm, friendly, open, easy-going yet extremely organized and thorough. On the day of the wedding, Carol did an excellent job of staying on task and capturing the best in everyone she photographed. You obviously spend a huge amount of time with your wedding photographer close by on the day of your wedding, and her presence actually added to the happiness of the day. I never once felt self-conscious or posed, which I can have a tendency to do if I know I'm being photographed. She has a way of capturing EVERYTHING without you even realizing she's there, and putting everyone at ease in a pleasant way, and it showed in her photographs. She captured the beauty AND the fun of our wedding equally well. Her eye for color, composition, mood and beauty is evident in every picture she took. I wonder if I'll EVER be able to stop looking at our wedding photos (I have to admit I have browsed through at least SOME of them every day since our August wedding!).
