Carnival needs to rename itself. Circus comes to mind.... Carnivals are fun places...places where you make memories, not be filled with stress and anxiety. The latter feeling is how I felt after getting off this cruise ship, which should not be how anyone feels after ending a vacation. First off, Carnival created chaos on embarkation as they communicated the morning of our cruise that check in was delayed 2 hours. However the parking lot where I made reservations did not change their time of closing their lots, so there I was speeding down the toll and 45 to Galveston to park before the parking lot closed, which by the way, the had grace on me because I called and had prepaid and they stayed open an hour past their time to accommodate me (another review on that place for sure)! The parking place had more customer service in 15 minutes than I experienced the entire 5 days on Carnival. First off they banned me from ordering drinks after the second day in the dining area because I sent one back two days in a row. One sip and they were nasty. I even brought it to their attention soon as possible. But the drinks in other places were poorly made as well. It was the most sober vacation I've ever had because I refused to pay for piss poor drinks. The crazy part is after not returning to the dining room for two days after being banned, we returned on Friday night and the waiter wanted to give me anything I wanted including ordering drinks! I was shocked- and he acted shocked as well as if it was not HIM that did it. It was pitful. I wanted no extra nothing--not even a refill of my water. I skipped dessert. Ate half my meal because I was ready to go! I detest liars. Secondly, Carnival needs to just stop services for a week and update all their technology because delaying embarkation and deembarkation because of tech issues is not cool. In fact I had an excursion booked and when the port for the excursion was cancelled, it was communicated that the Sail and Sign card would receive the refund. Not my desired resolution since I used a different card to purchase, but I was fine with the refund. Monday came and went. So did Tuesday. Mind you Guest Services was always packed most of the time of my trip so I decided to go early in the morning at three and there was no line. I was told to give it one more day. Wednesday comes and nothing. Thursday morning at 3 am I go back to guest services and have to prove I made a purchase because the system didnt show I had purchased an excursion. Mind you, I had my email with a receipt and order number. I was asked if I booked through Carnival. Carnival was in the email and the sender. I was asked when I purchased as if that even mattered. I was told FINALLY that it should be refunded by the end of the day. It was, but after we had visited our one and only port. I was not about to purchase another excursion without getting a refund from my original purchase. Once more the tv didnt work. It just kept repeating Carnival fyi and wouldn't change channels. We asked for it to be fixed once and it worked for one day. You may say why even bother watching tv on vacation. It would have been helpful to tune out the coughers cabin next door or the hot tub hillbillies below our suite. Could not even enjoy the balcony fully because of the noise! Finally, as a foodie, the food choices need improvement. Being on Virgin Voyage in November 25, its no comparison. Way more variety in their general eatery than Carnival. Anything worth eating would be a line. The biggest disapppointment would be having the food served in the dining area in Lido as well. What's the point of dressing up to dinner to experience a chessy show by the servers and eat mediocre food? Its not, which is why you will see empty tables in the dining area at night. Carnival needs to allow reservations like Virgin Voyage does for their restaurants and include it in the cost. The Blush is not it. Close it. Its an antiquated concept. Period. The most horrendous part of the cruise was deembarkation. They didnt get the bags down as planned which delayed the time getting off and they released 16 groups at one time to leave the ship- just let a herd of people go. Although I had parked across the street and walked to get the car,it took me an HOUR and a HALF to pick up my mom and the luggage due to construction and Mardi Gras parade road closures. Absolutely no signage--just people telling me to go to 33rd street. I finally had one crew member tell me exactly where to turn to get to the Breeze drop off and pick up...and HOUR and a HALF LATER. I saw enough of Galveston for a lifetime. It had been 10 years since I took a Carnival cruise. It will be 10 plus more before I step foot on another one. Carnival Breeze is a good first timer cruise. I've been on this ship 3 times and my first time was in 2016. The ship hasn't changed one bit. It's a very family-friendly ship with many activities throughout the day for all ages. My experience this time on the boat was a bit different than 2016 and 2017 when I sailed. The workers just seemed tired/lazy, which is understandable but just not the best service. The rooms weren't thoroughly cleaned and some amenities in the room weren't working. I tried not to be an annoying neat freak but there were many things I felt shouldn't have been missed when cleaning. I felt as if our assigned stateroom attendant just wanted to get the job done and he wasn't as welcoming as I'm used to stateroom attendants being. I also felt like the ship wasn't as lively as I remembered, there was many times where I was just bored walking the same laps looking for something to do but the entertainment wasn't spectacular. Maybe the people were right when they said carnival has changed. Maybe covid had a lot to do with the change but I think i'm ready to explore new cruise lines. As for the food, it is not the best but you may find something you like. As a yelp elite I made it my mission to try almost everything on the ship. Don't have your expectations too high with the food. Just enjoy the all-inclusive unlimited options! Moreover, I just think Carnival Breeze could benefit from some upgrades and renovation. The carnival cruise terminal was cool and clean as we set to debark on our cruise. We were on the Carnival Breeze side today. There were lots of people getting on the ship (and early, like us). Many people leaving. The employees were friendly and welcoming and even though we had to sit and wait to get on the ship, there were signs everywhere of where to go. The employees were directing you every step of the way as well. They were very efficient. There were also plenty of announcements to keep you aware of timing of how they would board. They have restrooms and a few snack machines. The internet signal in the building was horrible but I just waited until I got on the ship to connect. read more

This year, Ded decided to do a 4-Day out of Galveston on Carnival Breeze and babeeeeeeeee, we had a time. As always, the price per person was amazing. The trip was easy to book as the Carnival website is easy to navigate and very straight-forward. As Ded lives in Dallas, I flew in and we drove to the port. Once at the port, parking was very easy and there were ample parking spaces. As we pulled into the Carnival Breeze area, we dropped our bags off to the attendants as they could get them loaded. From there we parked and headed inside to the check-in area... Once inside, the check in lines were easy to follow. We got in line, got to the front, and proceeded to be checked in. Getting through security was smooth even though I had to throw my brand new Gatorade away. (No plastic bottles). Once inside, we headed to the boarding area and boarded accordingly. Once on the boat, we headed to our assigned area for debrief and was on our way to the Lido deck. Within 30 minutes of being on-board, the rooms were ready. When I arrived at my room, my rooAsmmate's luggage was there but mine wasn't. they were still unloading, I decided to wait a few before trying to try and track it down... I headed back up to Lido, grabbed lunch, explored the decks, then headed back down to my room. Upon arriving, still no bag. The attendant advised me to try Lost & Found. As soon as I arrived at Lost & Found my bag was looking directly at me. Somehow, my cruise specific tag, which was screwed on, had come off. However, I got my bag and was on my way. This trip I had a room with two beds and it was very comfortable. The room was clean and I didn't feel crowded at all. There were 2 beds, 1 desk, 2 nightstands, 3 closet spaces, and the chair for the desk. Even with a room full of furniture there was more than enough space for 2 people. Best of all, the bed was comfortable. I slept very well every night. As it relates to the ship, Carnival Breeze is huge. About 15 Decks of Food, Fun, and Festivities. The daily activities were in abundance and provided a great variety. There was something for everyone regardless of what you're into. If you are an early riser, make sure you sign up for the stretch session as it is absolutely amazing. I stretched like never before and loveddddddddd it. Ooh, this time the nightly movie selections were awesome as well. I enjoyed Fall Guy (classic), and Gladiator 2. Lastly, the food was good. I loved the Deli and Guy's Burger Shack. Carnival Breeze even had a really good seafood shack and Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse is to die for. I'm talking bite after bite of mouthwatering, quality food. The Carnival Breeze staff was amazing. Took my first cruise, a short 4-night voyage from Galveston to Cozumel and back over Thanksgiving weekend. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Highlights were the family photo opportunities with backdrops and photographers, the art experiences (scavenger hunt auction), the view of the blue water, and time with family. I did not care for the buffet style dining on the lido deck (one of the main dining areas). It felt a little chaotic and was hoping everyone had clean hands that shared the buffet utensils. Alcoholic drinks will run you $10 and up. I learned the long island ice tea is an economical option at about $13. A cruise a good way to get away, you just need to level your expectations. Pressure sales, pressure sales, pressure sales. It's nonstop at their Cloud 9 spa. I got a massage and it was rough too. The masseuse's hands felt like sand paper and she pushed me a lot. Not a massage at all. Then afterwards, she began telling me about the Elemis products she uses and that I can add them onto my massage. I said no. She pushed again. No. My mom comes out and said her lady hurt her badly. She's been sore for days now and before you massage, they have you fill out a form asking about pain level. She said 4 and the lady hurt her. Then she begins trying to sell products and pushing us both to schedule more. I got so tired of it all that I canceled every appointment. It's not enjoyable. This ship js also old, rust everywhere, not a lot to do UNLESS you only want to drink all day, gamble, and dance. The food is like a crummy buffet with only somewhat decent food and actually better than the restaurant food that comes dry and lukewarm. It's all made so far in advance that it's chewy. Much is tasteless and desserts are not great. Guy Fieri's burgers are great and fresh, sandwich section on level 10 is good for hot and cold sandwiches. Buffet desserts are all dry and tasteless too. Ice tea and coffee is concentrated Nestle Vitality junk that comes from premade cartons of tea. It's soooo bad. The tea and coffee is better at restaurants though. Alcoholic drinks are of a crummy dive bar level. Too sweet, boring. Have bartenders make something that isn't on the menu. We spent a lot of time having guest relations fix issues. Dress code isn't enforced either. People walked around with thongs up their rear with kids around, breasts falling out of tops and all of this is how they sit on shared seats. Staff is extremely nice and helpful, always working but not at all trained to handle enforcing nearly naked women walking around. This cruise is best for young singles and married couples and retired/elderly for the casino. Those 39+ might be bored unless your thing is to drink. Activities include live performances, rated PG and R standup, movie nights, live performances, art auctions, live bands in the lobby and level 5 areas, line dancing, fund raiser for St Jude. Director Sinclair is incredible. Pretty sure she doesn't sleep. She participated in all dances, says hi and welcome to everyone, handles safety procedures, very welcoming announcements, encourages her staff to smile, know customer names and be personable, and is involved in everything. If you are desperate to get out and be by the sea, it's worth it. If you want a nicer be modern ship, other chips may be your thing. It's a budget for a reason. I could do without the pressure sales and I'd be more inclined to get a spa treatment. Not buying anything like that anymore. read more

I always have a good time on Carnival. I don't care what anyone says. We are a diverse city and country so why can't our vacations be?... and without all the hate. I am very intentional to sail in non-peak seasons which is why I never have a bad experience. The staff is always amazing and never failed me. I am almost platinum level so that should speak to alot. I have purchased jewelry many times on the ship, I shop from their shops, I go to shows, play bingo, got to spa, eat all the variety of food places and gamble at the casino. I do it all minus the slides, I save that for the kids. Look at the food! Its excellent. They even gave me the recipe to my favorite soup. No disappointment here. Your expectations are too high and you need to just have fun and be kind to one another. read more

I had a very disappointing experience dining at Fahrenheit 555 on the Carnival Breeze. Despite having a reservation, the food was completely awful--I barely touched it and certainly didn't come close to eating even half. When I asked to speak with the manager, she was dismissive and insisted I still had to pay because of the "effort" put into preparing the meal, directing me to guest services instead. There, I was told false claims--that I was a walk-in, that over 50% of the food was consumed, and even that I said I was seasick, none of which is true. I was perfectly fine and simply unhappy with the quality of the food. Being charged $125 for a meal I essentially just sampled is unacceptable, and the manager's rude attitude and dishonesty made the situation even worse. I will not be returning. read more

Fun! Really a ton of fun. We had a balcony room, which was really awesome. And our room attendant was simply amazing. Such a sweet lady. Our room was spotless. Speaking of our room.... Everything was horribly outdated and worn out, threadbare, faded. The curtain had holes in it. I'm thinking for what we paid that it would be luxurious, but no. Next, the food. Nothing was truly hot or even decently warm on the buffet or from our dining room. Although we did go to the Italian restaurant and it was hot and delicious. Guy Fieri had a burger joint on board and the burgers were delicious but the service was awful, like it was killing them to serve us. We like to sit poolside while the ship is taking us from port to port and there was actually always a lounger avx. The other outdoor furniture was in such bad shape that the four inch cushions were so worn that you couldn't tell there had ever been a cushion inside. Simply pathetic. They had a really great comedian. We saw him twice and loved his show both times. The second time we went to see him, there was supposed to be a different comedian but he was ill, they can't do much about that. We also went to the karaoke show on several occasions, the best time we had out of everything we did. The DJ was amazing, Jesus. He was priceless. This was in the Limelight lounge, such a cool concept how it was set up, but again the furnishings were foul, everything needed to be thrown out or reupholstered. The ovation theatre seemed to be kept up a bit better and the two shows we went to were really great. I saw a couple of the performers in one of the restaurants and they were very nice, graciously spoke to me when I approached them for a moment. One of the ports was Costa Maya, I'd say stay on the ship! Unless maybe you pay for an excursion. Or just want to go to a bar for a drink, but bring the big bucks those drinks cost a pretty penny! Not sure about the excursions as we didn't partake. Cozumel was fun. We bought a couple t-shirts and paid for a horseless carriage ride that took us all the way to the down town, to a really pretty church and through a very interesting neighborhood. Well worth the money spent. The Effy store gave a necklace the first day of the cruise and a time or two each day you went back and picked up a 'barrel' to add to the necklace. On one occasion the salesman cornered me and kept trying to get me to buy a bracelet, wouldn't let up. There is nothing worse than a pushy salesperson. Not sure whether I would have bought anything or not (I do love rings and especially bracelets) but this guy was so bad that I didn't even consider looking seriously. With that being said the other salesman was quite entertaining, had an adorable personality. I could go on and on... but I'd regret being too negative. I give three out of five stars instead of 2 stars be cause we really did have a great time, though after the awful food not sure we'll do it again. read more

Recently, my family and I went on the 5 day Western Caribbean from Galveston, Texas. On Embarkation day, my mom who is a diabetic had a non working sensor and the battery on her glucometer needed to be replaced. She did not have a way to check her blood sugar. I rented a brand new glucometer for $60 from the Medical Center. Thanks to the well supplied Medical Center, my mother enjoyed her cruise. If you book a shore excursion through carnival, the ship will not leave without you, even if the excursion is delayed. Our visit to Cozumel was truly enjoyable and unforgettable. The Kuza Beach and Adventure Park, excursion was worthy. The employees were welcoming and friendly. In Progreso, the enriching excursion allowed us to discover the Yucatan and the Mayan World. Louie Clare, the Cruise Director is phenomenal! Shout out to Narayan, Housekeeping Attendant for being so kind. We all enjoyed the entertainment, pools, club, stores and the buffet at Lido Marketplace. If you make a reservation for the restaurant that's assigned to you. You can eat at that restaurant every evening, instead of the Lido Marketplace. Thanks to the new rules at Carnival Breeze. I did not see anyone fighting. Cruisers are not allowed to board with their radios. Carnival Breeze hard working employees sure know how to please cruisers. I highly recommend Carnival Breeze. i have diabetes and my face started to swell up bc my sugar was too high and i went down to medical center just to see how high it was so i know what to do. they tried to charge me 250$ just to get seen by a doctor. then they kept going on and on about prices and it just kept adding up and adding up. it would probably cost money to get revived on this cruise line. everything else is good but that's just ridiculous tbh. i get that it's my fault for forgetting my test but charging me that much money when it could be life or death is just outrageous read more

We had a great experience on the Carnival Breeze. Such positive light and energy from every single employee we encountered. So many things to do on the cruise ship itself or not! This was my very first cruise trip on a Carnival Breeze from Galveston to Cozumel on a 4 day trip. The Process was fast and easy from parking to security. Once I passed security, I was told to dump my water after entering. Before I could reach the boarding area. There was a K9 shepherd smelling people. A lady stopped me in a rude way (while walking to the boarding area), that she took my backpack and my water bottle in a way my party that i was traveling with were shocked. She could've handled this more professionally way! She took me to an area to search all off my belongings (nothing was found). Later, I was able to go to the boarding waiting area where my parties were waiting. We boarded the ship. Departure: We left at 3:30pm but in Cruise ship time. It was a very smooth sailing afterwards. The buffet line were good. If you get hungry late at night. there's a late night lunch from chicken sandwich, fries, pizza, and etc. Next morning on a friday, we sailed all day at sea. Lots of great activity on board the ship such as, casino, buffet, rope walking, basketball, also any planned activities you have in mind. My favorite part of the ship is the Adult only " serenity lounge" on the deck 15 Once we were getting ready to dock into Port of cozumel, they made an announcement almost 8 times since 5am for "Taylor" i was disturb by many announcements. Luckily they found that person before we could disembark to see Cozumel. Overall, Great outstanding staff on board the cruise. Galveston itself could use some MAJOR renovations. throughout the cruise parking lots and etc. Many updates could also be done on the cruise ship as well and into the Carnival hub app. my experience with Carnival was okay. This was by far my best cruise with Carnival. The ship was very clean, my room steward, and wait staff were AMAZING and I felt like royalty! The crew that I interacted with the most greeted me by name each time we crossed paths. This was also the largest ship is been on and I was barely in the room. i I love balcony rooms, it is the best way for me to cruise, and although I may not have been in the room much, it was nice still come to my room and enjoy the breeze when Lido/ppl/noise got overwhelming. The food was better than previous cruises and there are multiple places to eat!!! Try the steakhouse at least once. The entertainment in the dining room, atrium, comedy shows, and playlist productions were GREAT! Our cruise director was Lawrence and he was a ball of energy! The activities planned kept me engaged and there was always something that I wanted to do the entire cruise. I left from Galveston, the Strand is/was my favorite part of Galveston. Embarkation was quick and easy. Debarkation was hectic trying to get from Lido to the lower deck, but once there the line moved quickly. Overall I would def cruise the Breeze again, perhaps from a diff port tho. Oh if you have the CHEERS package it does not start until the 2nd day of the cruise due to Texas laws. read more

This was our very first cruise and it will be our last. It's not worth the money. The staff was rude, 3 out of my 4 children ended up with food poisoning from the ships food. Carnival doesn't take health insurance so you are charged per person to be seen. 65 for the initial evaluation per kid. 120 to see the doctor per kid. You are charged if they give meds while in the infirmary per kid. You are charged if they send you with meds to your room per kid. We were put under mandatory quarantined from Monday to Wednesday evening. Which caused us to miss our second excursion. However, despite all this they refused to refund us for not being able to participate the things we paid for. To add insult to injury they they were rude to us about the whole situation as if it was our fault that they gave my kids food poisoning. And when I got back I messaged customer service online, which took almost two weeks for them to respond just to say they did everything right and it's unfortunate but they will not refund for the portion of the trip we were unable to enjoy due to them poisoning our children. Don't ever go on Carnival. It's not worth your health and it's not worth the money it's took to sail. Just fly to your destinations, it would be cheaper or cost the same. And at least you can pick what you eat and where you stay. Because the rooms weren't even clean when we initially boarded. There was blood by the mirror and by the refrigerator in our room. This was my first Carnival cruise and I was a bit nervous with it being post Covid pandemic. I've been on a Disney cruise but I knew they were like night and day! Literally! Disney is day and carnival is night! There was always something to do from games shows to live music to events! We were on a 5 day cruise and we didn't have enough time to do everything in the ship! I tried though! Lol it was me vs carnival fun and they won everyday! Every single day I had to take a nap so I could continue in on the fun. The nightlife was always a 10! And the food was amazing! I'm not a big buffet girl so I was nervous about that. But guess what??? I rarely ate at the buffet. For breakfast, I used the app to reserve a seat for myself in the main restaurant where we had dinner every night. I was able to order omelettes, French toast and lots of crispy bacon. Then for lunch, there were two food spots by Guy Fieri- Guys Burger Joint and Guys Pig and Anchor (BBQ). These two good spots alone made me not want the buffet. The lines were long but it was always worth it! And they were restaurants included in the price of the cruise!!! For dinner, we ate at the main dining area, as this was the one meal we were guaranteed to see each other. I loved that I could use the app to see what was for dinner each night, so I always got excited hours before. I'm greedy and good food excites me. I had steak a couple of nights and the mashed potatoes were amazing! They even had exquisite foods, that you might have never had before but wanted to try. I tried something new each night... fyi frog legs taste like chicken. Lol Everyone was so nice and I felt bad because the staff all knew my name but I struggled remembering theirs. My 3rd time cruising on this ship and it was pretty cool. Managed to get $1000 onboard credit to use towards internet/drink packages/excursions. Carnival isn't exactly "high end" so don't expect too much and you'll be amazed at how cool things are. Everything was pretty nice for the most part here. Staffs are super nice and the people at the bars are amazing. They all treated me great and knew my name since I frequent there. Internet isn't great but what can you expect. They offer pizza all the way till 4AM. Other food they serve would be Chinese, American, tacos. Great tasting desserts at the dinner. The dessert on the lido deck wasn't for me bc it was either dry/too sweet. Overall, I definitely would go again for the right price. They tend to offer free rooms or heavily discounted to me so I have no problem in booking here again. read more

Also, our server - Ellen in the Blush dining room where we ate almost every night for dinner - excellent! She had only met us once before on the first night, and the second night, she saw us walk in and remembered my name, my husbands name, and my daughters! We have been on a couple of Carnival cruises before but this was our first time on the Breeze. Overall, we had a great time and I can say that we would cruise on this ship again. Boarding the ship was about as smooth as it could be. No hang ups or issues getting no board. Our room was ready earlier than the time they said, which was a plus. My only complaint is that the air conditioning in our room (interior stateroom) was not as cold as I would like and at times it was uncomfortably warm with it set all the way to 'cool'. The food was better than expected. Having cruised before with Carnival, we had set our expectations accordingly. I should note that we paid to have dinner at the steakhouse, Italian restaurant, and sushi (all of which cost extra) and we only ate in the dining room a couple of times for brunch, which was very good. The steakhouse was particularly good and well worth $38 extra per person. We were also impressed with the "Lobster Roll" restaurant. And of course the Guy Fieri burgers, tacos, buffet, and pizza were good options too. Overall, everything just seemed a half step above our expectations from previous cruises. The ship, being relatively new, was in good condition all around and everything was clean and in working order. We saw the staff meticulously cleaning all surfaces, railings, buttons, door handles, walls, floors, etc. throughout the cruise and we definitely appreciate their efforts. Service was top notch everywhere we went and our room attendant was excellent (Thank you Marichil!). Casino staff and drink service was also great. I was never left searching for a server as they came by about every 5-10 minutes. We booked one excursion in Yucutan/Progreso and the Carnival staff organized everything very well when it came time to get off the ship and to the right place. The excursion (Chichen Itza Mayan Ruins and Cenote swimming) was excellent and I would recommend it to anyone. We were on the Cloud 9 spa floor and had access to the spa (saunas, steam room, heated therapy beds, thallosotherapy pool, etc.). The robes we were given in our stateroom were a nice touch. We did not purchase any spa treatments but enjoyed using the amenities. I found myself being much less concerned about Covid once we were on board and saw the staff and (most) guests abiding by mask protocols. We were hesitant to book this cruise given the current Covid environment, but we felt Carnival did a good job with vaccination/testing requirements and following mask and distancing guidelines. I haven't been on a cruise since pre covid days (October 2019) and it seems things are back to "normal" for the cruises. This is my first time boarding from Galveston and the check in process was so smooth! It's best to get there early to beat the rush of last minute passengers. Parking was the only headache, and finding the designated lot for your ship considering so many ships leave from Galveston. I did the 5 day cruise to Cozumel and Costa Maya. Unfortunately, there was an onboard emergency which changed our schedule however, the Breeze adjusted to the changes very well. Though some excursions were cancelled due to the change, most people were able to keep their excursions just at a different time. The offer a variety of excursions from beach days, shopping, island tours, or even snorkeling. The food was amazing! From the burgers, tacos Or omelettes on the Lido deck to the excellent service in the restaurants. The housekeeping staff were very nice and accommodating. I thoroughly enjoyed the towel animals. The Sea Day itineraries were packed with entertainment however, I feel it could've been a little better. They also charge for bingo now which wasn't the case pre covid. I guess, they need to find a way to make their money back somehow. Overall, I enjoyed my time on the Breeze and can't wait to book again. read more

So that was gonna go ahead and be the most average experience of my life! This was my first cruise, and my honest impression was Vegas on spring break on a boat. There's very little to do if you're not someone who drinks, parties, or gambles. I guess there were several family activities, but we were definitely planning on having more of a relaxed time. The only place to escape the noise and chaos was our cabin and the spa, which was SUPER nice, but beware at the end they will PUSHHHH to sell you products. The "adults only" deck (Serenity Deck) was RIGHT above the main pool area, so it was a lot of kids screaming and loud music. The service was crazy good. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. If you're looking to go on vacation with the main activity being to relax, I'd probably skip a cruise and opt for something more like an all inclusive resort. All and all, I don't regret the trip! It was still such a cool experience, but now I know that cruises are NOT for ME, lol. read more

The food is good especially in the Main Dining Room, and if there's nothing of interest on the menu, you can hit the Market Place buffet on the lido deck. The room stewards are great, especially making your towel animals every night. We went on our first cruise after Covid in late August. Galveston is a very easy port to sail out of because it is smaller than the Florida and NOLA ports. The dock staff was extremely helpful and happy to be back at work. The embarkation process was very easy. The staff on the boat was terrific. Every single staff was on their game. They also loved being back at work. As a regular craps player I got to know all of the craps dealers and really enjoyed playing with them. The best part on cruise craps is you really get to know the people who play. If you pay attention this can give you a bit of an edge when playing with hot shooters. The food was very good and plenty full. The shows started off slow but got better every night. Being they were just getting back in the swing of things it was totally understandable. We love cruising and are going on our third one since Covid this month. I firmly believe they are safe and is the best bang for your buck. read more

Carnival has truly awful customer service. Two tips that might help you: 1. Do not get the Carnival credit card to get a discount on your cruise. I signed up for the deal to get $200 off with the card, but then it would not allow me to book the cruise on the card to get the supposed discount. I called the bank that issued the card, they said it was a Carnival issue and to call Carnival. I called Carnival, they said it was not them, and to call the bank. Carnival advertises this deal to you by email and website so I wanted them to honor the discount. They made me fill out a complaint form online and never responded. I never got my $200. 2. BRING A PASSPORT. The Carnival website says you can travel with a state ID if you leave and return to the same port and only go to Mexico. They repeatedly email you and say a passport is highly suggested but not required. The communications we got said this several times over and referred to a "real" ID which was confusing because in fact you need an enhanced ID to travel without a passport or birth certificate, which is only issued in five US states, so you probably don't have one. A REAL ID IS NOT SUFFICIENT. There are stories all over the internet of passengers who thought they could travel with a Real ID and were then denied boarding. I do not know, given these repeated stories from multiple travelers, why Carnival does not change their communication to be clear about what you need. Carnival does not care. They will not let you on the ship, and write into their contract that it's your job to know what you need even if they tell you something different. We were denied boarding, got no refund, and got a stock letter from Carnival saying it was our problem and the money was just lost--thousands of dollars! Carnival customer service was just terrible. They were rude to us at the port, did not offer any solutions, told us there was no way to talk to anyone at Carnival by phone and we had to submit a form online, and then sent a stock email saying too bad, no refunds for you. They are the frontier airlines of cruise lines--they just absolutely do not care about their communications to you or even showing a modicum of kindness when there is a problem. I will never buy from Carnival again in my lifetime. read more

I loved this cruise ship and it's staff! I do have 2 complaints though. 1 being the onboard messaging feature in the HUB really needs work and definitely should NOT be a charge for it. It's very sketchy as the messages don't go through for hours at times. My second complaint is the debarking process. This also is a mess! Passengers should be required to wait in their rooms or on deck 10 until they're numbers are called. Passengers waiting on the actual floors is a hazard and causes a huge delay in others who are being called to get through to get down and exit the ship. That will also help keep ppl from going down and they're not called. The way it is now is enough to keep me from cruising for a while, on Carnival atleast. Other than that, I had an amazing time and will definitely do it again but it will be a while. It's alot of work! read more

My family enjoyed this cruise, we didn't have many issues at all. Housekeeping was very nice and thorough, waiters at dining and bars were very nice and helpful. The boat was clean, however smelled bad at times near our staterooms at least. The floors were slippery outside our rooms in dining areas, it was my comfortable shoes I chose to wear, but the floors were always damp. One woman fell, I was sure I would at some point but I did not . We had drink package and I was surprised not to have had a buzz while drinking. The drinks were good in some bars and others just taste thrown together which came out either too sweet or too much alcohol flavor, so not a good balanced drink. Look around each bar has their own specialty drinks which we liked the variety. The burgers were great, the wok was great. We usually dined in the restaurants and the food was fine. Some nights better than others. Diverse crowd, no issues really. The wifi and hub app did not work most of the time for us. It is $5 pp and 2 were refunded. I saw people sitting outside their rooms to get a connection. We also had the pleasure of going to the medical late night. The phone did not work in our room to get to medical, so we walked around trying to find our way. We ended up using a phone in the hall and it worked. They told us yo go yo our room and nurse would meet us bc they are closed (1:30 am) Nurse called and told us where to go. My son had an allergic reaction and we paid the price for forgetting to pack Benadryl! $150 late night medical fee and $10 for 10 Benadryl pills. $12 for Benadryl shot. The healthcare providers were very nice and service was quick. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and will most definitely cruise with Carnival again with our family. read more

Finally, we can go back on the cruise again. Our 07/15 trip was the first one after The pandemic. We all loved the trip and had ton of fun and food on board...lol. The trip started with a bit of scare when I somehow didn't have my date of birth put down on the vaccination card. I had to be "escalated" to up stair and went through some paper work to dig out my med record. Anyway, the matter was handle professionally. Once on board, everything is amazing. With reduce capacity, we were able to have a sail away jacuzzi by ourselves. The Guy's burger was, is, will be a must on board. double cheese is always my favor!! The pizza was bit off for the first couple of days and back on par by the last couple of days. Good staff. The formal dining was a hit and miss. And we kept going because the people there were always nice and we had a table right next to the full glass window. As for all activities on board, the kids were having a blast. We were able to keep them away from the screens for the duration of the trip...that is til we were back on dry land...lol That was the first time I visited Cozumel. I think this destination is better than the one depart from Long Beach. Crystal clear water and lot of activities on shore. Maybe because it is an island. It looks better than the mainland. My fiancé got food poisoning the last day of the cruise and was stuck in the room all day. We went to the medical office where they gave her a shot and some pills to take. My family and I went on our first cruise. We traveled on the Carnival Cruise line Breeze ship. We disembarked out of the Port of Galvaston. We drove up the night before we left and stayed at the Harbor House Hotel on Pier 21. We parked our car at the lot next to our hotel. That morning we took a shuttle to the port and made our way through the long lines. A hour and a half of waiting and we made it through customs. We chose to keep our bags and made it to our room in another hour. We were in a hot tube by 2:30pm when most were still getting to their room. Pro tip. Watch YouTube to get inside secrets on cruise best practices. Day one room was clean and prepped. Taco bar for dinner. Day two was all day exploring the ship. Breakfast lunch and dinner were great. Dinner was especially nice with a classy sit down meal where the entire staff knew our names and were really attentive. The service was excellent without being impersonal. Samuel, Kevin and Riezel were so charming and warm. I was kinda blown away by the overall experience because I imagined it was going to be like a busy mall bustling with screaming kids. Our trip to Cozumel and Progresso ports was so fun. We snorkeled in Cozumel and we took a tour bus to the Mayan ruins in Uxmal from the Port of Progresso. We opted for the excursions while in both ports and super excited we did. I need to write a review of each excursion because each one was really special. I know my wife was so impressed she just scheduled a cruise for our family for next Christmas. This is day 3. I am stuck on this unpleasant ship for 2 more days. The staff is wonderful but the environment is awful. First, maybe I wasn't mentally prepared for 3400 people in a small space. There is a line for anything you need. Elevator. Food. Water. The pool is small and full of people you wouldn't want to share a bathtub with. The hot tubs are way worse. The internet that I paid for is sketchy at best. The other guests are loud, ignorant, and mostly nasty. And in the way no matter where you try to walk. The food in the dining room was limited and plain. And, since there are only 2 of us, they insisted on sitting us at a small, 4 person table. So, elbow to elbow with strangers. Last night I skipped dinner and ate a cheeseburger. I had such high expectations for this vacation. Everybody told me how much fun I would have. Maybe cruising is fun for some people, but it's like being stuck in traffic with kids movies and piano music for entertainment. The best mommy vacation ever... I was on relaxation mode the minute we got on the ship! There was something to do for everyone. I love the Lido deck pool parties where we learn all the line dances. The teen group was life changing for my kids. My kids were entertained throughout the cruise and had a activities planned throughout the cruise with their group. Buffet spread was amazing!!! The dining staff became like family and each night the menu changed and we were able to enjoy a variety of top notch cuisine. One of the best family trip taken.
