We were so pleased that they were the place we landed on. They were so friendly, the food was amazing, and they didn't rush us out, even though the kitchen was closing shortly after we arrived. We were staying nearby and sad that we weren't staying there. Our group had the crab cake, king prawns, and smoked salmon starters. For entrees we had the steak, bolognese, venison, burger and steak pie. Then several had the brownie and sticky toffee pudding. I have to say that we'd been having sticky toffee pudding everywhere we've been and this was, by far, the best we've had. I didn't get pictures of the desserts because they were eaten so quickly. The decor was tired and dingy. Dust was accumulating on the light fittings. Ramsay would've said 'What the f=+*'. The service was hesitant. We had to wait a considerable time to be noticed; when eventually we were noticed there was a somewhat grumpy girl took our order served us. A more cheery girl served There were only two tables with guests, a worrying sign on a Thursday night. On the positive side the food came quickly, was warm and the portions handsome. The wine was mediocre but no 'by the glass' option on the very sparse wine menu. The price was low which might explain a lot. Perhaps you should avoid this one and opt for the far better Morangie Hotel.
