The best teachers in the world, the best staff from the custodian to the music teacher. Amazing and talented special ed teachers also. The school is totally secure and they are always teaching about respect and very anti-bullying. Our school thrives on the parent volunteers also. We have the best moms and dads helping out in the classrooms which usually puts the ratios at about 7-1. I fell in live with every teacher each year and thought that the next year I couldn't possibly have a better one, but every year I am more than happy with the last teacher helping to choose her successor and always ending up with the right teacher for my son. The kids have iPads in kinder, and really everything, technically speaking and otherwise that they need to get educated. We have running club on Tuesdays, pancake breakfast that the dad's club puts on and where our principal participates. We have such fun, cool events where so many parents are involved and actually friends. We work together, are friendly and enjoy stopping to chat with each other. Just an amazing school. My heart broke when they tool fourth grade away. This will now be our last year here..

She is patient but firm and really cares about her kids. The school is really nice, clean and feels good. There are two stories and so far, we've stayed on the first floor. The lab is fantastic, lots of computers and Ipads are one to one. I was trepidatious about the drop off situation but it has worked out nicely. The Highlands is across the street and a ton of kids walk across to meet their pick ups and the parents also park at highlands and walk over to pick up. You can get in line for a car pickup on the far side of the parking lot if you do not want to get out of your car. Not a problem at all.

This school is smaller than the nearby Sage, Del Mar Heights, and Ashley Falls. I like the more sheltered, secluded feeling here. The community overall seems to be comprised of families with younger children, and it is more conservative than the other schools. Not much school spirit, but that's probably because there have been a lot of changes, not only in the district, but with new principals every few years. Parent participation is a bit weak, and fund-raising not as good as the surrounding schools. This school just doesn't have a well-oiled system in place. It is clearly evident, when you look around, that the majority of the families in this school are Asian. Not very involved in participating in the school, other than in the Science Olympiad. This school is known for having a very strong science department/team, that participates at the middle school level. And since the school does not have a cafeteria, the new Choice Lunch program was a great change this year. They have a app to order, manage, change, and cancel lunches within a 24 hour period and it bills a credit card directly!

My child has experienced three different daycare environments - a traditional daycare as an infant, Montessori, and this school which draws from numerous pedagogical approaches for early childhood education. Although I liked the Montessori school she attended, my child was never lit up at the end of the day. Children should love school, if not it's not the right fit. By contrast, this school was a great fit for her. We were very lucky to have provided my child with the opportunity to attend this play-focused school and are sad to be moving on. It was very clear that my child was well loved at the school, as are all of the children. All of the teachers know all of the children's names, they know who the kids best friends are, and they are warm and welcoming. I loved that my child got to experience cooking, baking, gardening, and music on a regular if not daily basis, in addition to pretend play, blocks, art, and outdoor activities. They are read to throughout the day. I appreciated the balance between group activities and free play. I also loved that the teachers took pictures of the children throughout the week so I could see what they were doing. The school is also very diverse for the area, both staff and students. In the past few months the Covid protocols changed so parents could come inside the school for drop off and pick up. If you get to school around 8:45 parents could listen to the morning song (but I was perpetually late and missed it). Regardless of when I appeared at the school I would hear laughter and children engaged in fun activities. I never once experienced chaos or a teacher in a sour mood. The most common parent complaints are parking can be somewhat of a challenge depending on timing, and they aren't pushing academics hard. Neither of those issues were a major concern for me. I recommend this school without reservation.

The principal Mrs Domingo, knows every child by name and is extremely involved in all aspects of the school. The superintendent is very progressive and the district makes great efforts to get the children ready to be part of the larger community- teamwork, social consciousness, technology and innovation are highly valued as well as the "keys of excellence". The PTA raises funds to expand the horizons of the school and help support STEAM education. Physical activity stressed as well. My child has a 504 plan and I feel they take great care in developing and implementing a plan that works for all. Her current teacher, Mrs, Davis, is a true gem, one in a million. We could not be happier with this move and this school.
