This review is much overdue but I hope it can help other parents searching for childcare! Our…read moredaughter, now 9 and a half months, started at Beit Yeladim when she was just 11 weeks old. As first time parents, we were nervous about having her go to full-time day care, but we felt it was the right decision for us as we both had busy schedules and wanted her to be around other babies and caretakers. We are so happy we followed our instinct on this, as we have had the best experience with the infant room at Beit Yeladim. It is difficult to describe the amount of gratitude we have towards Thany, Janet, Janette, Sylvia, Kathy, Sara, and the other teachers for providing such a safe and nurturing environment for our daughter when she is away from home. I think the biggest compliment you can give someone providing childcare is that you don't have to worry for a second about your child during the day. That is how my husband and I feel. We can focus on our work, trust that she is in good hands during the day, and look forward to spending time together at the end of the day. Through all the transitions in her life, from getting used to taking breastmilk from a bottle, to having solids, rolling, crawling (at least trying!! haha), and standing, they have been there cheering her on all along the way. I remember just a couple weeks after she started, my husband had mentioned to them during drop-off that it was my birthday... she was sent home with a hand-made birthday card for Mommy with her handprints on them :) As they have decades and decades of experience between them, I find it reassuring that so many pairs of eyes are on her. I have welcomed any suggestions they have had... from increasing the amounts of solids to advancing to faster-flow nipples, I feel like they are extra resources for me as a new parent. I really feel like we are all part of a team taking care of her.

Our experience with San Diego Jewish Academy has been mixed. The preschool and elementary programs…read morehave a lot to offer, and the middle school experience is generally positive. Unfortunately, the high school has significant issues that prospective families should carefully consider. There appear to be significant challenges with upper school leadership and faculty retention. When teachers are not adequately supported or treated well, it inevitably affects students. The resulting turnover and lack of continuity are particularly concerning in core academic subjects. Having multiple teachers for the same class over the course of a school year is disruptive to learning and falls well short of what families should expect from a private school. My oldest child will have THREE different math teachers this year. The loss of students is equally concerning - 35% of my younger child's 7th grade class did not return for 8th grade. The impact of this happening goes far beyond enrollment numbers. Teenagers lose friends and classmates, established social groups are disrupted, and the sense of community that is supposed to make a school special begins to erode. Watching classmates leave year after year takes a toll, and the students who remain deserve better than having rebuild their social world while trying to navigate an already challenging stage of life. SDJA has many positive qualities, but the high school needs stronger leadership, greater faculty stability, and a renewed focus on the student experience. I would encourage families considering enrollment to speak with current upper school parents and ask direct questions about teacher turnover and school leadership before making a decision.

I only wish we had known of this school earlier as we would have had her attend from kindergarten. She loved (loves) this school. As soon as she began in 3rd grade, we noticed that everything started improving - math, spelling, reading, writing, etc. The school has exceptional academics in a very warm and caring environment. It is a real community. My daughter always felt cared for and protected. She learned core values of friendship, respect, good character, moral integrity. In addition, the art and music curriculum is first class. The teachers are all outstanding and very involved with their students. We found the communication very open - if we had any questions or concerns, the teachers and administrators were always available. She was so sad to leave but we know she is very well prepared for the challenges that lay ahead in middle school. We will never forget our time at Del Mar Pines. I think she made many lifelong friends. I do recommend this school to everyone. If you get the chance, send your children there. You will not be disappointed.

The best teachers in the world, the best staff from the custodian to the music teacher. Amazing and talented special ed teachers also. The school is totally secure and they are always teaching about respect and very anti-bullying. Our school thrives on the parent volunteers also. We have the best moms and dads helping out in the classrooms which usually puts the ratios at about 7-1. I fell in live with every teacher each year and thought that the next year I couldn't possibly have a better one, but every year I am more than happy with the last teacher helping to choose her successor and always ending up with the right teacher for my son. The kids have iPads in kinder, and really everything, technically speaking and otherwise that they need to get educated. We have running club on Tuesdays, pancake breakfast that the dad's club puts on and where our principal participates. We have such fun, cool events where so many parents are involved and actually friends. We work together, are friendly and enjoy stopping to chat with each other. Just an amazing school. My heart broke when they tool fourth grade away. This will now be our last year here..

Some of the other teachers like valenzano are minimal effort or absent teachers that keep staying with no consequences. And the principal is unable to solve these issues. We switched our daughter to a private school and we can't be any happier and wish we didn't waste 4 years there. The difference is day and night. Would not recommend this school. Try to transfer to other schools in the district.

God gave Pastor Rick and Kay Warren the dream to plant a church for people who didn't like church, and he led them to Southern California. Our first service was held on April 6, 1980. Over the next 43 years, we witnessed God perform miracle after miracle as we moved locations, raised money for permanent buildings, launched campuses in California and around the world, and baptized over 50,000 people. In September 2022, we welcomed Pastor Andy Wood as our new lead pastor. As we step into the future, we’re believing God will do more than we could ever ask for or imagine. We've always believed that the early years are so important and shape so much of who our children become. We chose DTD because we saw how much they shared this same philosophy and how important it was to them to respect and nurture each child as an individual. We love knowing that our kids are somewhere they feel safe, loved and respected for exactly who they are. They're free to explore, make mistakes, express their feelings and just be kids without having to fit into a certain mold. And to us, that's priceless. Another thing we absolutely LOVE is the food program!! Being able to send our kids with just their water bottles and knowing they're getting two healthy snacks and lunch every day is amazing! But beyond the convenience, we love everything they've learned through the Food Atelier. Exploring new foods, learning where ingredients come from, sitting down to eat with their friends and serving themselves. It's such a wonderful experience and something we value so much. We're incredibly grateful for all the love and care our family has received at DTD over these years!

A few key highlights from our experience: 1) Reggio Emilia Philosophy: The activities and projects are constantly shifting to match the kids' current interests, keeping them engaged. 2) Specialized Spaces: Great art and music programs, plus an atelier where they learn hands-on about nutrition and food. 3) Healthy Food: Great, nutritious daily meals provided on-site. Most importantly, our kids are happy, confident, and well-cared for. I'd recommend this place to any family without hesitation
