The salesman confidently told me the car did not have a CVT transmission. It does. When I asked whether the transmission fluid had been serviced (it never had, across 159,000 miles), he refused to do a simple drain and fill and compared it to "back surgery on someone with no back pain." He handed me the dealership's own internal repair order, and that's where it got worse. It listed an "A/C Evacuate Recharge" that did not match what AutoNation reported to Carfax. It also documented a cooling system leak diagnosis, a cooling fan replacement, and a suspension/steering repair, none of which were disclosed to me. A cosmetic repair package had been declined internally, and two prior damage events on the Carfax were never mentioned. When I asked questions, the answers disappeared. The salesman repeatedly said he "wasn't a mechanic," couldn't find anyone who was, and didn't know how to find the information in their own system. The moment I started asking informed questions, his demeanor changed entirely. I did not buy the car. I purchased from another dealership the same day and was treated with honesty and respect. I documented everything and filed a complaint with AutoNation corporate. I asked only for accountability and better training, no compensation. The full story, with the actual documents, is here: thereasonablecustomer.com Reasonable customers deserve honest answers. I didn't get them here.

Customer service is what makes or breaks a customer's decision to return to a franchise. When…read morepurchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle, the expectation is that the quality and service will be close to what you'd receive when buying brand-new. Unfortunately, that was far from our experience. We had to return twice just to get a proper interior detail. For the inconvenience, Abel, the GSM, offered to tint our windows--which we appreciated--until we picked up the car and realized the tint was practically pointless. You can still see clearly through the windows. On top of that, the windshield was filthy when we got the car back. When we pointed it out to Abel, his response was: "Well, it's not a new car." So, does that mean customers don't matter unless they're buying something straight off the showroom floor? To make things worse, the check engine light came on just four days after purchase. This is supposed to be a certified pre-owned vehicle. Certification requires inspections and standards that should make it feel like new--so why isn't the service held to the same standard? Overall, the customer service was disappointing, dismissive, and far below what anyone should experience when buying a certified vehicle. Do better, or get out of the customer service business

She didn't even let me talk to anyone and said that we made it an online appointment for a noise. Held up a bunch of workorders and said it would be 5-7 days and they have no loaner vehicles. Wouldn't even consider letting me talk to someone one about the codes. Went to a smaller dealership walked into service department and ask what these codes mean. She put a handheld scanner on my car in less than five minutes gave me information. She scheduled me an appointment and was very helpful.

1.9 stars? That should have been my warning before wasting half my day at AutoNation Chevy SOUTH…read more Hands down one of the worst car dealership experiences I have ever had. I live in San Diego, CA and have dealt with plenty of dealerships, in Cali and South Texas--none of them come anywhere close to how bad this place is. I was fully ready to buy a 2026 Tahoe and was this close to signing the deal. Then a sales manager, Abel, waddles up with some serious short-man syndrome energy, swinging his little bit of authority around like he was doing us a favor just by existing, and immediately kills the deal. Congratulations, you talked yourselves out of a sale, Mr. Leader of sales in the Coastal Bend. That kind of ego-driven, condescending attitude is exactly why people walk out and never come back. That little man desperately needs to learn how to talk to customers instead of trying to intimidate them. "Leader of sales in the Coastal Bend!" he bragged. Yeah... okay. Your 1.9-star rating says otherwise. The only bright spot was Jacob. He was professional, helpful, listened to what we wanted, and did his job well. He was moments away from closing the deal, until Mr. Leader of sales in the Coastal Bend showed up and completely torpedoed it. You need to find a better career. Do better. Or keep earning those ratings. It's crazy how you see some of the Yelpers are from out of town and still getting awful service. Crazy, but it's true. The worst experiences at this particular dealership. How is it still in service? Update: Drove up to San Antonio and purchased my 2026 Tahoe at the same price with no hassle. Thanks again, Leader of sales in the Coastal Bend.

Upon meeting my salesman, He proceeded to tell me that my information didn't add up. (as in i am not who i am- identity theft maybe idk) Kind of implied that i had somehow stolen my own identity but ok. I was asked to provide multiple documents and wait 1 week. i provided those documents on that same day. hello if i wanted to steal someone's credit i would steal someone's credit that has good credit. duh! After 7 days i called and was told to keep waiting. After 2 weeks of calling every day i was told wait longer. I gave up. After a month i received an email saying i should call back to check my status. I did and was told my application expired. Needless to say i went elsewhere and am now in a vehicle and love it!!! i walked out with a vehicle that same day ... and my downpayment was way less. DriveTime is not a great place to get a vehicle. It's a great place to get the run around. Do better!

About 10 days from seeing car online before finally getting to get it. I was sure I wanted it....Toyota, low mileage, I could look at it on the lot. But the office wasn't open. Turns out they were being protective over a Covid case. Understandable. I obtained my own financing. The price on the Toyota was competitive because they hold their value...the loan office was asking why the price was on the high side...the car was in impeccable condition and again...Toyotas hold their value...and the pandemic has made used cars go up in value. DT worked with my CR perfectly and the car is awesome. I highly recommend DriveTime in Corpus. The prices are non-negotiable. If you don't like what you see on the sticker...keep moving. Simple. But what I saw was in line with medium values with KKB.
