Dr Carlson is amazing. We saw her for 3 years and then we had to move so we couldn't continue our visits. I seriously thought about flying down to see her. She cares about the kids and their parents. She's quick with responding to messages on the patient portal. I was a first time parents and sent lots of messages. At each appointment she asked if I had any questions and I always had a long list and she answered them all. She did all of their injections and she was so quick. Today I saw another pediatrician for my one year old and he got a ton of vaccines and the nurse did them and she was so slow. I felt so bad for my baby. I also loved the handouts she provided at each child wellness exam. I loved their office and the staff as well. The other offices I've been too have been so plain. The paintings on the walls of the office and the exam rooms were so good for distracting little kids and making them feel less scared. And of course the fish tank. I've been to 3 different pediatricians so far and I still think Dr Carlson is so efficient, caring, and knowledgeable. read more

Dr.Carlson is one in a million, she is absolutely one of the best pediatricians we have seen. We moved to the area last year and luckily found Dr.Carlson. She has amazing bedside manner and really listens to the parents/patients about any concerns or questions. She is very through and always lets you know of any upcoming vaccines. She is fast but thorough, answers all of our questions and concerns, and really helps us make sure we're doing everything we can for our kids' health. I have 2 daughters- 8 and 7 years old. We've been going to Dr. Carlson for the past 7 years. She truly cares about her patients. When my 2nd daughter was born she took a blood test with Dr. Carlson. The results were fine. But my phone was not working properly at the time. So Dr. Carlson, herself, could not reach me. Once I fixed my phone it turns out, Dr. Carlson called me 9 times and kept leaving messages. She was so persistent with great test results, I could just imagine what lengths she would go for bad results! Also, she administers all shots to patients herself. She is quick about it and does a great job distracting my girls. Dr. Carlson is great with my girls, always putting them at ease with jokes and conversations. The front office is also very polite and helpful everytime. Plus, this office has a sick entrance. Good for those in waiting room who are not sick. The only con I can think of is she does talk very very fast...parents need to get use to it. Also, she is very direct. She will tell you if it is a "parenting issue". But we love her more for that. I highly highly recommend Dr. Carlson and will not go to another pediatrician unless forced to. read more

She is the BEST!!! My son is the pickiest kid and there is something about her that is so soothing and non threatening he loves her! Some times at random he will ask if we can go to her office because he wants to just tell her hello. It's so nice to have a doctor that makes your kids comfortable, because the last thing parents need is to have that fight that they don't want to go to the doctor. Not the case with my kids! We started seeing Dr. Carlson when my 7 year old was born and have been with her since then. She and her staff are absolutely incredible! Appointments are always available when my kids are sick. The office staff, Sandy, Gina, and Mona will do anything they can to get us forms completed or appointments made. I know I can always call and they'll be happy to help us out with whatever we need. Dr. Carlson is always very thorough. She's great with the kids and they love going to see her. They also look forward to seeing Mona at the front desk. Dr Carlson was our pediatrician choice before my girls were ever born. Recommended by other doctors I did the research and she is one of the best in her field. When my two little girls were born and in the NICU she came in to check on them and get updates, and the hospital had not even officially released them into her medical care. She took time out of her busy schedule every time she was in the hospital for her registered patients to stop in NICU, see them and see me. My one daughter has a immune deficiency and she always calls me back if I call no matter what the time, to discuss the issue and what we need to do to get her the best care we can. She gives you information and details other doctors fail to discuss, and fully supports our family in every way medically. I have never - ever been disappointed in her care or in the care from her team. When the twins were little we would take "first available" to get in the office to see someone quickly (since she is in a doctor's group) but we did not have positive experiences. We learned that Dr. Carlson is special and had a special connection to our boys so she would easily make them comfortable and access their medical needs. I had to find a new pediatrician because our insurance is apparently having some beef with my daughter's old pediatrician's office. (BOO, UNITED HEALTHCARE!) The doctor's office is clean and there are lots of toys to keep your kid occupied. HOWEVER, we did wait almost an hour to get put into a room to wait for the doctor. An hour? Really? THERE WAS NO ONE ELSE IN THE WAITING ROOM. WHY DID WE NEED TO WAIT AN HOUR? Do you have any idea what it's like to wait for an hour with a toddler? THANKFULLY, my daughter and my cousin's girl were REALLY good. But honestly, waiting an hour for a toddler is like waiting for 4 hours as an adult. It must've been brutal for the kids. Anyway, once the doctor did see us, I kind of liked her. She was pretty to-the-point and direct. A little different than I'm used to, but not in a bad way. She was good with my daughter and she was very nice and professional. We will most likely go see her again next year. ALSO, they have lollipops for the kids after. The other doc only had lame stickers. The kids were quite pleased with that. read more

Dr. Carlson is my daughter's second pediatrician. When my daughter turned 12, she wanted to switch from a male doctor to a female doctor. We are very pleased with our choice of Dr. Carlson. She is easy to talk to, she has children of her own and can easily relate to many issues regarding kids. She is very easy-going and has a cool and caring bedside manner. She is , for lack of a better word , very chill , and doesn't make my daughter feel awkward when she has to put on that paper robe! My kids have been seeing Dr. Carlson for their whole lives (18 16 and 13). Dr. Carlson has always been a great doctor to them and always is very attentive to our extra parental questions. Dr Bette Carlson is an amazing Pediatrician. My one daughter was very sickly has a 5th and 6th grader. She got broken blood vessels all over her body like measles. Unexplained. Dr Carlson was upbeat made us all feel good. Said it would go away in time and was not contagious. She was right. Then my daughter could not eat food anymore she had an intestine problem. We were sad when we could no longer go to her due to my girls age. My girls are now extremely healthy adults. I will be forever grateful. read more

I saw Dr Carlson for my son's one year appointment. The front desk staff and nurses were fine but from the moment Dr Carlson walked in for our appointment all she did was talk AT me. I wasn't able to ask any questions that I had, nor did she ask. I was hardly able to get a word out during the whole appointment. She came into the exam room very loudly and made my baby very nervous, which is normal at this age. Our last pediatrician (out of state) would come in and warm up the conversation before jumping in and examining a baby. My son cried through almost the whole appointment and he LOVES meeting new people. She was fairly rough with her physical examination and didn't give my son a chance to calm down or be soothed. She recommended several practices that strongly go against our parenting style. Our baby still wakes up in the night and she flat out said that we should just leave him to cry when he wakes. He is also really close to walking and she suggested we buy a walking toy. I'm pretty sure human babies figured out how to walk for thousands of years without walking toys. We also had an alternative vaccine schedule, for various reasons, and she completely disregarded our plan that I had brought, even after my protests several times and then she got out the vaccines right then and there and gave them to my child. I didn't even receive the literature on the vaccines administered, which is standard practice. Needless to say, this was the most hap hazard doctors visit I have EVER experienced. I will not be seeing doctor carlson again and would not recommend her to anyone with a child under five. I'm sure she is better with older children, but this was not a good fit for us. read more
