Stopped in while traveling through the city and was happy we did. Clean dining area, friendly service, and a menu that made choosing fun. We heard this was a place to try. On line it states they close at 11 I believe drive through. We walked in and stood at the counter for 6 to 8 minutes. We heard the staff in the back giggling away. The cook right there but chose to ignore us. The girls came from the back and informed us they were closed! We were in the door before 10 pm. If you are closed then lock the door. I've been to this location a handful of times as I go to Phoenix frequently. I usually eat in. Today I went through the drive though and was halfway through my sandwich when I turned the lights on in the car and realized the bread is extremely moldy. This was by far the very worst fast food experience we have experienced. Aside from messing up our order. We ordered two famous star combo meals, which, according to their $ poster, were $5.99 each. So we should have been charged approximately $12.00 plus tax. We were charged $30.00. They forgot are fries so we had to wait five minutes in the parking lot for the fries. Not to mention, we gave the exact change for out order and the clerk couldn't figure out how much money to give us back. If you're going to up minimum wage, then train people to earn the increased wage. I have stopped eating fast food because of the high prices and disappointing service. I unfortunately ate here and soon after, as I was getting ready to leave, I started to notice that they have some kind of bug infestation.. and I mean infestation! There were these little black bugs everywhere. For a second I almost thought they were rat feces, but then quickly realized they were moving. I'm going to go all out here and give this particular location 5 's. Usually when we stroll into this town, we will frequent the crusty arches for some artery clogging grease or run down the street to the king of whoppers and throw back a double. I do, however favor the double Western bacon cheeseburger, it's been an all-time favorite since I was a child. Brings back memories. Thanks mom! My experience, though with traveling, Carl's juniors is usually about a 2-3 experience. The crusty arches next-door had left us super disappointed from the last run. They just could not get it together so I thought what the heck, let's see what Carlos has in store for us. Here we go..... cashier super pleasant and friendly. Customer service was great, order came out right away and it was correct. Most importantly, it tasted awesome. I think of Carl senior or junior were eating lunch with me that day, they would've been proud. Picture this, it's 1:30pm on a Sunday..you stop to get some food on your way home from California. It's been a long trip, your 2 small kids are cranky and hungry. You jump in the drive-thru line, there's only 1 car..sweet it should be quick. We pull up to the menu to order, "someone will be with you in a minute". 20 minutes later-NO JOKE. 1 kid is crying hysterically, a high pitched shriek that is actively picking away at any patience we had. The other child is repeating "hungy hungy hungy" over and over.. The employee must have been my dad, because they never came back. No one took our order, we gave up and went to leave. Sadly to our dismay, the car that ordered before us, STILL sitting at the window waiting for their food. We were stuck, couldn't go forward nor back. 10 more minutes we sat there in a claustrophobic angry rage. The drive thru line was 12 cars long so we went inside. ONE cashier and the line was to the back of the restaurant. Besides the fact that the place was filthy dirty with trash all over the tables and floor (apparently neither the customers nor the staff feel the need to pick it up). No way would we eat there although that has been our number one place to stop for 20+ years. So we drove one block to Carls Jr, the drive through had one car but we went inside. ONE OTHER CUSTOMER! This is the newest, cleanest, and least crowded of all the fast food/pit stop places in Gila Bend. It's the first thing you pass if you come from the Yuma direction and the last thing you pass if you come from Phoenix. The McDonald's has always been the old standby but now there's a less crowded alternative. It is actually at the western end of the big parking lot that has McDonald's and a whole lot of huge truck parking spaces. Service was decent and food was alright. Bathroom was clean. Well, let me start with we walked in on Halloween night traveling from San Diego to Maricopa. All the employees were sitting at a table and we got a look that they were put out that we wanted to order. I looked in the kitchen and there was trash all over the floor and wasn't very kept. The guy taking our order was very rude and not helpful with my husband's questions. We should have walked out but we ordered. Got our food and it was ok. Patty of burger could have been cooked more. They advertise hand scooped milkshakes but refuse to make you a shake for the same reason. First they said they were too busy and it took too long to "hand scoop" the ice cream. If you are going west on I-8, this Carl's Jr is tucked behind the McDonald's and a Love's Travel stop. It's also the first restaurant on the left if you are headed east. So, it's very easy to miss if you blink your eye while passing through this 'lil 'ole town. I'm not quite sure why the steel decor in the restroom (sink and urinal) look like they belong at a rest-stop or prison cell (The Gila Bend McDonalds definitely has a better looking restroom), but if you need to drop a bomb, chances are that you will have more privacy here. The customer service was also a little off- large parties are allowed to stand near the register and stare at the menu while those in the line who are ready to order are left waiting. If you want food poisoning this is the place to go! My partner eat only one or two bits but had the runs a few hours later. I ate more before tossing it and ending up with the most violent body explosions of the tainted food for hours! We had no other food that day so it can not be blamed. The Bacon Cheese burger must have been setting under a heat lamp for a VERY LONG TIME! The bun was dry, the meat was dry and it was the worst hamburger I every had tasted not to mention the after effects! I am going to talk to their corporate office and the local health inspector because this could have killed someone.
