So in a storm I go out to check my RV. Apparently that wasn't too bright since there were bricks…read moreholding down a tarp. The winds set a brick airborne which amazingly clobbered me right in the head. Blam I had a full blown concussion. I set out for my doc at Kaiser and yep it is a concussion and your symptoms are exactly what you can expect. The world was spinning and I found it difficult to balance. My Kaiser doc said sorry nothing to do about it and hopefully I would feel better in 6 or more months. Great, but I need my brain so I called a friend who is a brilliant neurologist at UCSF. He is the smartest guy I know so I figure he has something useful to say. Again the same story nothing to do about it and he hopes I will get better someday (perhaps not). I am not giving up so I contact Kathleen Brown who studied a more serious version of osteopathy than most DOs learn and ask her to take a look. In a single treatment I go from being disoriented and finding it difficult to balance to feeling perfectly fine. I don't believe in magic but there it was. I walked in one door a mess and after one treatment I feel fine again. She also suggested I contact an associate Anita Acevedo for some other treatment I can't even begin to explain. Between those two treatments my concussion had completely resolved and I have had no further problems related to my concussion. Kathleen has an uncanny understanding of physiology which extends well beyond what a traditional allopathic physician can even begin to address. If your physician is stymied about what to do about your pain and injury you will not be disappointed with Kathleen Brown however be prepared to be amazed with the results.

I've been suffering with pelvic girdle pain and weakness on my left side…read more since giving birth to my daughter 2.5 years ago. Prior to seeing Kathleen, I had seen several practitioners including two chiropractors, three pelvic floor PTs, and an exercise specialist. Nothing really helped. Enter Kathleen. She has this amazing ability to tell what isn't balanced in the body and can sense it with her hands! After just three sessions, I feel so much more balanced and strong on my left side and I barely have any pain. Kathleen is also very knowledgeable in the mind-body connection and how one affects the other. She has a very calming presence which is exactly what I need when I'm in pain to not flare up anxiety and make the pain worse. I would recommend her to any friends and family without reservation!

I have experienced problems with dizziness for most of my adult life. I was diagnosed with…read moreLabyrinthitis and had never had luck with any type of medication to help with the symptoms until I met and started working in Dr. Erskine's office. He fine tuned one of his homeopathic remedies for me and it has literally saved my life. Or, at least made it so I can function throughout the day. I feel very lucky to find this doctor and become one of his patients. He has helped many many patients with his Homeopathic remedies. He certainly knows what he is doing and takes the time to help you. He is kind, caring and very compassionate. I totally recommend his services.

I had a car accident a month ago and came to Dr. Erskin because I was concerned about the concussion symptoms I was experiencing as well as muscular strain/sprain flare-ups. I have had a lot of other types of bodywork and chiropractic over the years so I am very particular and discerning about the quality of work I receive. I can highly recommend Dr. Erskin- he really hones in on the exact areas that need attention and very adeptly allows the body to respond and let go of tension. After two treatments, my brain is feeling more online. He also recommended specific supplements that would help with my recovery that other practitioners didn't consider. I look forward to continued progress in his care.

I have been seeing Dr. Hiserote for a few years to help with severe and reoccurring hip pain. The…read moresituation has resolved and I am so grateful for his kind attention to my issue. Dr. Hiserote is not only a highly knowlegable and skilled practioner he is an active listener, intuitive and gentle. He also has a teaching background and I encourage a visit to his website to watch his very informative talk explaining what osteopathy is. Our bodies are perfectly designed to heal themselves but benefit greatly from expert guidence on our journey toward health and wholeness. Blue Sky Osteopathy Center is a beautiful and peaceful office space close to downtown Sebastopol (on my last visit in June they were practicing safety protocols due to Covid which was very reassuring). Gayla, who manages the office is multi-talented in her multi-tasking. She is compassionate, kind and always has a friendly smile (even behind her mask!). I highly recommend Dr. Hiserote, we are very lucky to have a DO of his caliber in Sebastopol!
