We got relief and retail therapy in one shot! I love a good greeting card store. This one has the best selection of cards for any occasion. I got one for my friend saying, "Happy birthday to my favourite vegan friend." I can't wait to give this card to her next year. Yep, I plan that far in advance. The punny cards were hysterical. We were laughing so hard in a fairly quiet store. Luckily, we weren't kicked out. Excellent cards! I also liked the stationery and writing instruments. This store carries Lamy fountain pens, which I hadn't seen in ages. I also loved these huge puffy stickers. My laptop has no room for large stickers these days. If it did, I would have bought one in a heartbeat. I also liked the pencil sharpener that had three different pencil sizes to use. Fancy! If you are looking for a gift for someone, this store had a bunch of cool suggestions. Everything from Sun Jellies totes, to candles and drinkware can be found here. There were even astronaut-themed erasers and candles. So cool! I went to pay for my card. The woman indicated that there was a sticker on the back of the card that may be an issue. Maybe I'm so used to taking off stickers from any surface that I did it at the store without any hesitation. Done! I paid for my card with a debit card. The transaction was smooth. I got my card with an envelope in a small paper bag. The woman at this store was friendly and cared about the quality of her items that customers were about to possess. It was a wonderful find. I'd love to go back when I'm in the neighbourhood again. Cards and perhaps a new fountain pen await. (283)

JV Studios & Boutique - Trinket holders. I like the strawberry.

It did have merchandise that I like. I had just bought a punny card at a different store. This store has a wide assortment that I enjoy. I tend to purchase a greeting card of some sort in my travels. It comes in handy when I need to gift someone a present with a card or when I send one in the mail (what's that?!) to someone. This store had cute trinket holders. There were heart-shaped ones. I liked the strawberry ones. They were perfect for rings, earrings, and maybe my air plant. This store had artisan soap by Whiskey River Soap Co. Had I not purchase a bunch of hand-crafted soap last month, I would have bought some here. It's funny that I held back getting a thing because I had just purchased similar items recently. The drinkware was another good example. I got one with a glass straw a few months ago. I didn't need another one, but the watermelon and strawberry ones appealed to me. This store had a lot of earrings to choose from. I was happy to see a lot of cute, small earrings. I like clean designs. Simplicity is good. You got everything from crescent moons to triangles. This store had so many gift ideas. Even the pottery section made me wonder if I could gift a friend something. I enjoyed browsing at this store. I hope that I'll have the need to buy something for either a friend or me next time I'm here. (249)

They have a good selection of items that would be fitting gifts for women or men with discerning tastes. They have a wide selection of fairly high quality snacks, jams, teas and coffee. They also have lots of gift baskets if you're looking for a quick gift idea. In the back, they have an annoying array of gifts that border on gag gifts. Like the rest of the items in the store, these "funny" gifts are overpriced. That's mainly my big complaint. I know a number of people who would enjoy some of the products this place has to offer, but I can't bring myself to pay the high prices. I'd prefer to go to farmer's markets or some shops in the Byward Market to buy local, high quality preservatives and snacks for much more reasonable prices. Still, check this place out if you think you may be interested. It's quite popular, so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

But, nonetheless I thought Panier was a bread store. One day, looking for some baguettes, I stopped there and went inside. I literally stopped in my tracks and looked around in awe. Panier is NOT a bread store. It doesn't sell anything bread-like at all. It is a wonderful place with shelves of jams and jellies, shelves of tea, many different kinds of coffee bean, over 100 brands of hot sauces, gift cards, stationary items, Christmas decorations... Panier blew me away. The prices are a little higher than your local large grocery chain, but there is so much choice and so many one-of-a-kind products. They had these habenero flavoured kettle fried potato chips to die for! If you are linquistically challenged like me and haven't been to Panier yet because you don't need bread, then give your head a shake and go there today!

I came here to look for birthday gift items for a friend. Naturally, I tend to hit the cheap book section and see if there's anything that my friend would like, which ends up being a book at I want! Even though my friend isn't a child, I stumbled into the children's section. I am a big kid at heart and was pleased to see Yummy World stuffed toys, along with pandas, pineapples, and more. I came back to my senses and found a car charger in the shape of a cactus. It had three USB ports. It was perfect for my friend! It was perfect for me, too. It was 50% the regular price. I enjoyed looking at the merchandise in this store. The beverage bottles looked pretty. I smiled at the food coin purses and taco caps. It was almost as if staff knew that I would like food-themed items and they rolled out the food carpet for me. The woman at the checkout was great. She was friendly and cheerful. I had her scan my Indigo rewards card off my phone. It works nicely. This store is in a plaza, with Winners and Marshalls within close proximity. I'd come back to this Chapters when I'm back in town.
