My name is Kevin Nilsen. On August 13th, 2020, Dr. Kareem G…read more Sobky with OrthoOne at Presbytarian/St. Lukes Medical Center performed a total knee arthroplasty surgery on me that FAILED! My knee wasn't the only thing that failed me. Three months after my TKR surgery, Dr. Sobky terminated our doctor/patient relationship at a point in treatment where he knew my prosthesis was failing. Without a justifiable excuse or proper notice, he terminated the doctor/patient relationship via voicemail as would a pusillanimous person with no regard to my handicap that he had created. Leaving me in a crippled state and without a doctor. With one failed knee implant and one still on the books to be done. Yes, you heard right, he ended our relationship by leaving a voicemail. Maybe he forgot the previous voicemail he left me a week earlier reassuring me that he would take "OWNERSHIP" of my failed knee. On May 23rd of this year I had to experience the pain of a revision to the same knee due to Dr. Sobky's ineffectual botched surgery from August 13, 2020. It is more complex than the original knee replacement as it requires extensive preoperative planning, specialized implants and tools, and a mastery of difficult surgical techniques. This would explain why he ended our relationship as he did not have the mastery to do such a surgery. Not mention, he thought he was above taking my insurance, which is Medicaid. Nothing is more important than a man's livelihood and the ability to provide for his family. Dr. Sobky took that ability away from me and then turned his back on me. I could write an entire review about Dr. Sobky's character and bedside manner but not at this time as this review pertains to his medical incompetence. They say a picture is worth a thousand words.I will try to post pictures to help reference what went wrong. The first picture where blood is pouring out is three days post-op while still in the hospital. The second picture, taken just minutes after the first picture would be the nurses changing the blood soaked dressing. As you can see, the entire incision is open from top to bottom and infected. That is a surgical emergency where medical attention should have been obtained immediately. Not just covered up with another bandage. It was not addressed, not treated, not even reported in a medical report. The medical professionals should know that a "HOLE" in your incision is a gateway to bacteria and infection and can cause serious problems, which in my case led to a failed implant. The third picture is finally when the wound started to come together. Does that look like the work of a skilled surgeon? The incision was still seeping blood three weeks post-op which is documented by my physical therapist. I had a consultation with another orthopedic surgeon regarding why my implant may have failed and it was quite simple. My TKR failed because the incision was split open and became infected and went untreated. He also mentioned that I had a four week window in which to treat it or I would need a revision. He was 100% correct regarding the revision. In addition to the infection, I also suffered two (DVT) blood clots in my operative leg which could have been deadly and could have been prevented if only he had followed standard protocol and applied compression stockings immediately after my surgery. I have absolutely no clue why Dr. Sobky and his team did not apply them. Even after the blood clots were discovered, the compression stockings were not applied. In conclusion, I hope this review will help someone else make an informed decision when considering Dr. Sobky as their surgeon. All medical professionals have a legal responsibility to prevent harm from their patients. I've given him ample opportunity to address the issues laid out in this review, which were brought before him in July of 2021. As of now, I have received nothing but silence. This review will be posted on every platform available including social media. I realize a complaint like this is a doctor's worst nightmare and will have a great impact on his practice. I stand on this review 100% until he takes "OWNERSHIP" of his actions, I will use every avenue available to share my experience of Dr. Kareem G. Sobky and OrthoOne. Kevin Nilsen

Said as a social worker, this is no small feat, especially for a primary and specialty care clinics. Wow. What office do you know that also has an outdoor patio for you and its staff? When you take care of your people, the people take good care of the clients. So easy, but so hard for so many businesses to truly grasp. Not Bella, though. My visit was almost like meeting a new friend. Everything was laid back, while being professional and focused, but not cold and sterile like you'd expect with a doctors office. Can't wait to return. Who says that, lol. Def book an appt if you're looking for a new way to care for yourself. I'm still so impressed.

My only reservations with this practice are the occasional unfriendliness from front desk staff (in person and over the phone) and the passive aggressive notes around the office. There are two in the bathroom that I just find unprofessional - something about "It doesn't kill brain cells to change the toilet paper" - like ok, why is this here for clients to read as if it's our job to clean your restrooms? And then another on the pee drop door with some sarcastic comment about "if you don't label your sample and can't tell yours from others then neither can we" which is obvious but just off putting. A sweet reminder would be great because I'm hardly ever in this office unless it's because I'm having a problem.

The nurse and doctor are not warm people and are the stereotypical "for the money" type of people. You want to see a midwife, ask specifically for one and do not change your mind. The doctor and nurse are NOT pregnancy specialists (OB-GYN). Jos hua Em dur filled out my medical chart incorrectly and spoke very quickly, as if he just wanted to get it over with. Ask for a copy of your medical record right as you leave because my chart was a mess. Doctor and nurse saw us for about 15 minutes and pocketed $35. Waste of money and time. If you are visibly pregnant, they will have you do a pregnancy test for $15 the moment you come in (pee in a cup); you have the right to refuse. You should always ask how much something costs, because they dime and nickel you for everything. Ultrasounds cost about $50 in-house. They will not refer you to another clinic.
