I have refrained from writing this review because since they have such great ratings I figured I just had bad luck with my experience, but the more residual complications I experience after being with this dentist, the more I feel I need to share my experience. I had one of the worst dental experiences at this office. I came in for fillings and was told I needed one on a bottom tooth and one on a top tooth. After getting the bottom filling done, I was in constant pain. A week later, I could barely floss and it felt like I had a rock in my mouth. There was filling plaster all over my tooth. They brought me back to "fix" it only to tell me after I arrived that the original dentist I scheduled with wasn't even there. No warning. No courtesy call. Just SURPRISE your dentist actually isn't here to correct what he did. A substitute dentist looked at my tooth and said something along the lines of "WOW it's everywhere!" and started drilling away to correct it, and while flossing became possible again, the pain never stopped. I couldn't eat on that side of my mouth. Meanwhile, they kept calling and pushing me to come back for the top filling. After how poorly they handled the first one, I refused. I eventually went to a new dentist because the pain became unbearable. Turns out the bottom tooth was still actively decaying because the filling was done incorrectly. It didn't stop the cavity at all. Now I need a root canal. Total waste of time, money, and unnecessary pain. Even worse, my new dentist looked at the top tooth this office kept trying to fill and immediately said a filling was NEVER the right treatment, it needed a root canal from the start. This place is careless, incompetent, and feels like a money grab. They caused me severe pain and made my dental situation significantly worse. Save yourself the stress, pain, and money and go literally anywhere else. read more

Edit: I know exactly what is approved by my insurance since I had a cleaning here two years ago. Your office repeatedly told me I could not get a regular cleaning because I needed a deep cleaning, you said I would "only get a polish" that day, and the dentist and your staff encouraged me to leave without any services except X-ray saying I'd "get it once the deep cleaning was approved." You also put in my records all the services you were supposed to have provided me that day, so again, I know what I was supposed to get and all you have on record is me saying "I expected more than just a polish, why can't I get an actual cleaning today?" California is a two-way consent state for audio recordings. I do not recall being asked for my explicit consent to be audio and video recorded at your office. I also have a legal right to the footage taken of me so I'll be asking for that. Ok, so that doesn't explain why they'd refuse to do the regular cleaning I had scheduled. Obviously, anyone could do the regular cleaning and then the remaining necessary cleaning once the deep cleaning was approved. But instead THEY refused to do a cleaning for me and argued with me about it. The dentist also claimed I had 5 cavities when I haven't had any in three decades, as well as initially also trying to sell me a mouth guard for bruxism I also do not have. I went to my prior dentist over the holiday for a second opinion. He explained to me as Wayne G also explained that they should have done the gum check; and that his second opinion was I had one small cavity that needed to be filled (not 5) and that in his office, they'd have just done the regular cleaning and my level of issues would not have warranted a "deep cleaning." Furthermore. When I requested my records, my appointment notes stated I HAD RECEIVED THE CLEANING I HAD BEEN REFUSED. And not "just the polish" which the dentist and office said was all I could have, they stated I had gotten hand scaling, cavitron, mouth wash, etc everything I had expected but not received from the appointment. When I questioned them on this, the office manager had the audacity to tell me I HAD REFUSED MY OWN SCHEDULED CLEANING. Medical gaslighting at its finest. How could anyone not be completely confused and upset at being treated this way? I came in for an appointment for a normal service. It was refused for reasons that do not make sense (except that this office is both scamming patients and insurance companies). Then the office staff, instead of being apologetic for all they'd put me through and my normal reactions, was incredibly rude and gaslit me. They told me my insurance was not going to cover the very services they had written in my chart I had received (when I never even saw a hygienist) and that I had misunderstood what a "cleaning" entails even though I had gotten one with them two years prior and have had probably 50 dental cleanings in my life. America has the highest healthcare expenses and amazingly poor health outcomes for citizens. Businesses like this one who withhold appropriate medical care to pad their pockets with insurance manipulation is why. Proceed at your own risk. First and foremost I want to thank the staff for being super inviting but also very accepting and accommodating to my issues surrounding x-rays and procedures . The staff took the time to get me through the x-rays and were able to get most of them done ( I haven't really ever been able to do traditional ones) . They also were communicating with other staff members who enter the room about my concerns and all staff were supportive and help me get through the appt. Honestly , I can't believe it was the first time I hadn't had a place yell at me or turn me away and tell me look elsewhere. Brought my toddler for her 1 year check up and she had a small cavity, i was told to bring her back in 6 months. I took her back and Dr. Rivera knew her cavity grew and did not take xrays or said anything about treating the cavity he only did visuals and I was told he is a pediatric specialist, he's not. He recommend fluoride treatment and a toothpaste know my toddler needed treatment. Set an appointment for December to put varnishing on the teeth just to see ANOTHER doctor saying she was the pediatric specialist and that my toddler needs crowns. This office let the cavity grow to when it was beneficial for them! Dr. Rivera you lost my children as patients. We found a new dental office that will treat my child with REAL HONESTY AND CARE. I now have to pay $1300 out of pocket so my child can get white crowns. Dr. Rivera should be paying for this not us. Chart notes are vague. This review is also on google. read more

I do not recommend going here, the dental assistant with the pink crocs rushed the dentist , mind you I was already sitting in the chair WAITING FOR OVER 2 HOURS after my appointment time. Furthermore I understand that my procedure was tedious and has risks to it, despite those risks the dentist took no precautions while treating me and was continuously rushed by the dental assistant. The dental assistant helping the dentist with my procedure (Mario) was amazing at talking me through everything, this was the only pleasant interaction with staff I had. The dental assistant with the pink crocs was very rude and rushing every few minutes. This was not a delightful experience. I was continuously rescheduled time and time again months apart when in pain. I was seen by three different dentist at this office despite being told by the staff one dentist should be doing my procedure. I do not recommend coming here. read more

Awful experience. I went in for a cavity filling and 3 months and 6 appts later I'm on my way to a root Canal because they drilled too deep into the nerves. Of the 6 visits the other dentist kept saying he didn't know why I was in so much pain by looking at my xrays. One visit to a new dentist and they identified the exposed nerve immediately! I am so upset and absolutely crushes by this place. I have amazing teeth. I went in for one simple cavity and today in getting that tooth taken out of my face. I normally hate going to the dentist. But this place makes me feel comfortable. I have been going here for years and can't believe I haven't written a review yet The staff at the front desk are very friendly and professional.. This place is normally for kids but they help everyone of all ages. They have an adult dentist that's there as well. I had my root canal done here during my lunch time. I was able to go back to work and do my job as if nothing happened. I work like 10 minutes away so it all worked out time wise. The dentist that helped me out was Dr. Ricardo Reyes and he did and awesome job. He was able to do a deep cleaning as well. I was here about a week ago and they practice covid 19. Everyone is wearing masks and does their best to stop the spread. The Dentist also wears a face shield when he looks down your mouth so there is nothing to worry about. read more

Love this place. Not because it is ridiculously close to my pad but because of the staff. They're always super friendly and very understanding. By understanding I mean patient because my children hate the dentist. They kick, scream, and throw fits but they always leave in a happy mood. A little backstory first: I know that I am a difficult patient. I have a horrible gag reflex and terrible anxiety when it comes to visiting the dentist. I've had horrible experiences with dentists being mad at me out of frustration when it comes to taking X-rays. It's the reason I haven't seen a dentist in years. My review: Today, I had my first appointment at Caring Bear Dental. My anxiety and gag reflex immediately kicked in during the X-rays. I was so scared they would get mad or ask me to leave because of how hard it is to work with my reflex. It was the exact opposite. THEY WERE AMAZING!!!! They reassured me that it wasn't a big deal and they knew how to help me. They gave me a glass of water and were so gentle and patient. They even chatted with me which distracted me from the full mouth of X-rays which had to be taken and put me more at ease. I literally started crying because of how sweet everyone was and how this is the first time my anxiety subsided in a dentist office. I wish I knew about this place sooner. Everyone I met today was unbelievably kind which means more to me than they'll probably ever know. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone else that is nervous about going to the dentist or just anyone who wants to know that they're in the presence of nice people while getting dental work done. read more

Dr. Matt and his staff are phenomenal. I found out about Caring Bear Dental through a friend, and after reading the countless positive reviews on their Yelp, I was sure my friend was right. Dr. Matt is truly a remarkable human being whose beautiful spirit shines through everything he does. Dr. Matt is not only a gentle soul and amazing dentist­-engaged and thorough and attentive-but he is also an amazing photographer (I love seeing his travel pictures shared on the office screens). And it doesn't hurt that he and his entire crew are beautiful on the outside, too. I wish there were more people like him in the world. He makes visiting the dentist feel more like a trip to see a friend. Dr. Matt takes the time to get to know patients and it's really unique and pleasant. Today, he brought up a random comment I mentioned last visit (10 months ago) and asked how it was progressing. That level of care and attention to detail sets him apart from the rest. The pricing is transparent, and the dental work and procedures are incomparable (I've had multiple root canals, a mouth guard made, and several cavity fillings and all were very comfortable relative to any other times I have had work done). From start to finish, always a pleasurable experience. The lovely individuals at the reception desk, (especially Silvia) have such a warm and accommodating personality, effortlessly squeezing me in for my routine cleanings and sharing her radiant smile as soon as I enter the impeccably clean office. Final note: I was very impressed at the caution that Dr. Matt and his wonderful staff took during these difficult days of Covid. highly recommend Dr. Ricardo BEST DENTIST I ever had. I had couples of root canal procedure when he Never I never felt any pain during the entire process. He has this "DENTAL VIBE" that you will not feel the pain with the needle when giving numbing agent and believe me when I say... I was so relaxed and even fall sleep during the procedure. My 9 year old had a great experience here. And as I was telling his dentist that I haven't been very responsible with my dental check ups they told me they have adult care. To top it off, they have late appointments, which is great that I don't have to take time off of work. I was able to book at 6PM appointment. Everyone of the staff members are great! What a Big waste of my time this place was. I thought i was going in for a Dental Prophylaxis cleaning which i get done every 6 months. I brush my teeth and floss my teeth daily so I keep my teeth and gums health as much as I can. 1.) Caring Bear Dental Owners name is Jason Lahmani 2.) Caring Bear Dental Never did a Periodontal Chart/Graphs done to measure the millimeter depths for each of my teeth. 3.) The Dentist tells me they can't and will not do a Dental Prophylaxis cleaning because I need a Deep Cleaning This Dentist that works for Caring Bear Dental walks in and says I need a Deep Cleaning without even doing a Periodontal procedure and probe measurements How can I need a Deep Cleaning when I don't have any gum disease, no gingivitis, no Periodontitis disease, no inflammation, no bleeding, no receding gums, no receding bone tissue? The Dentist didn't even measure my gum lines for each of my teeth to know what numbers they are 3, 4 or 5, do I have pockets or not? I asked the Dentist are you doing to do a chart and graphs of all my teeth measurements using a Periodontal probe or not? This Dentist had no idea what a Periodontal Probe was telling me they don't need to use a Periodontal probe or do probing depths measuring the millimeters of my gum lines because the Xrays shows everything. The Dentist was looking at my Xrays of all my teeth and I ask him to point out where exactly on the Xrays is the bacteria, tartar, plague and calculus build up since you're saying I need a Deep Cleaning? The Dentist couldn't even show me anywhere on all the Xrays of all my teeth where any bacteria, tartar, plague or calculus build up was on the Xrays. This made me question this Dentist big time So why are you Refusing to do a Dental Prophylaxis Cleaning on my teeth and forcing me to do a deep cleaning when I don't need a deep cleaning? I guess this owner and Dentist at Caring Bear get a very big commission check by scamming their customers and milking the dental insurance companies for deep cleanings for customers that don't even need them. I ask the Dentist just get the ultrasonic Scaler and Hand Scalers and clean my teeth. All I wanted was a Dental Prophylaxis cleaning and the Dentist said that they don't have Ultrasonic Scalers or Hand Scalers unless we bill my dental insurance for a deep cleaning for approval. I guess this Caring Bear is a scamming Caring Bear that doesn't do Dental Prophylaxis teeth cleanings period as well as not having any Ultrasonic scalers or Hand scalers. There is no way you can tell a customer you need a deep cleaning when the customers doesn't even have gingivitis, no gum disease, no inflammation, no bleeding of the gums. Plus the Dentist didn't even measure my gum lines using a Periodontal Probe or did a Perio Graph to chart my probing depths for all my teeth to know the millimeter numbers they are at. Most Professional Dental Hygientist take probing measurements of the gum line to your bone level using a Periodontal probe and do a Perio Graph. Scamming Caring Bear this place should be called by trying to pull a fast one on me which is not going to happen. read more

I really like the support staff here (front desk, billing, scheduling). They are kind and helpful and responsive. The dentists we have seen have all been poor, unfortunately. The hygienists rush through their task. My sons had their cleanings done in literally 27 and 29 seconds (I timed them). It's a joke. So, I can't recommend their dental care, but the ease of scheduling, the location, and the cheerfulness of the general staff is great. read more

Well what can I say, hard to when so many good things come out of this place. The staff is wonderful and very caring. They're not here to get you in and out. They are truly here to help you every way. Even though it might seem for kids only they do have someone for adults too. They call me to remind of my appointments every time. I'm definitely coming here when I need work done. They were very helpful when it came to my insurance and worked out something that best suit me and my needs. I went there about 1 year ago, after finally getting dental insurance and a semi good job. It had been a while since I had been to the dentist, so I was fully prepared to have to pay to have quite a few things fixed. As I predicted, I had several cavities on my lower surface of my molars. After getting a quick and fast appointment to get them fixed, I went on with my life. Fast forward 1 year and I have moved to a different part of the city and have a new job. I find a dentist in my new location, and after doing xrays and examining my teeth (including photos so I could see it myself) they said that the fillings I had done were already chipped off and I needed to have them redone. In the photos I could see where my fillings ended and chipped off, causing the cavity to grow even deeper. I firmly believe that if it had been right the first time, I wouldn't have had to get it corrected at all. read more
