We dropped in with party of 13 and all meals were prepared excellently and when meals were delivered the service team presented the food to the right person. Despite being busy we were sat at a nice booth within 15mins of arrival. The menu has a bunch of options and we both opted for breakfast! The omelettes are large! The French toast is perfectly buttery! And the hashbrowns are crispy and salty!! What more could you ask for from a diner lol. Free refills on coffee and the server immediately brought a pot out to our booth when we ordered. I would highly recommend stopping on your road trip!

There was quite a selection, which of course led to some happy confusion. But what really caught my eye was a triangular shaped almond-based treat labeled Hamentashen! Well, at least a reasonable facsimile. I purchased one and them proceeded to give the quite pleased guy behind the counter a Purim 101 lesson, while throwing in that it was close to Passover on the calendar, and that Rosh Hashana was coming up on Friday night. I also opined about what a traditional hamantaschen looks like, and that cherry was my favorite filling. I just finished it this morning, and found this hamantaschen to be delicious, albeit a little too sweet and needing a bit more fluffiness. Here's a reference just in case another Jewish person happens to stop in and take happy notice: https://www.onesarcasticbaker.com/hamentashen/ Secular Coda: I also purchased a monster cookie and am slowly working through all of its deliciousness.

Nick actually started out selling his breads out of several area Farmer's Markets, and now offers his products at the Lakefield Store and in other area locations. I was raised on Wonder Bread and it did help build my strong body 12 ways. But these days, there is a lot of great homemade bread out there, of which living in the greater Berkeley area keeps Family expectations high. I picked up a loaf and one of their coffee cakes at the Market Community Co-op in Spirit Lake (Iowa). Both were a huge hit at the Cabin, as a few of our breakfasts and lunches were made even more enjoyable. We'll come here before the big grocery stores the next time we're in town.

Last month Le Meilleur opened in Hull, Iowa. This place is a wonderful surprise in Northwest Iowa…read more My standard of living just went up! Thus far I've had San Francisco sourdough, buckwheat cranberry bread, cappuccino, café au lait and the house coffee. Both breads have had wonderfully crusty exteriors with just the right amount of chewiness and moistness on the interior. The sour dough was as good as any I have ever had - and I worked in San Francisco for a while. The coffee drinks have been perfect. The display case is full of gorgeous desserts, croissants, french macaroons, and more. The bread display behind had numerous types of breads. Not every kind of bread is made each day. I think that the sour dough and baguettes are made fresh every day. This place is an immediate favorite of mine. I can't believe there are not long lines - but maybe that will yet come. Please visit while it is still relatively unknown. This place should be a massive success! I want it to thrive and grow! The only downside thus far is that I do not yet have a line item in my budget for how much I would like to buy here.

The pastries are made with the best ingredients. The individual chocolate cake is incredible. It's a perfect companion to anyone of their coffee selections. My favorite is Raspberry Mocha and believe me it goes with anything here! The coffee tastes fresh, clear and smooth. Not too far from my freshly roasted coffee beans cup of coffee I have before heading out the door in the morning. The breads are great too, there are new varieties baked everyday. I did have one loaf which was under baked or perhaps not left long enough to let the gluten set. Speaking of gluten, they do not have any gluten free bread yet, but I'm sure that one will come along shortly. All in all a wonderful addition to the great city of Hull!
