What happens when you mix a coffee shop with Einstein bagels. You get a Caribou coffee shop. Want a bagel and lox with cream cheese? Or maybe a turkey sausage, egg and provolone cheese on an Asiago bagel? So many choices for your bagel dreams to come true. Great choices for coffee too. This place is clean and service is friendly and fast. I ordered the Monday special of 13 bagels for $6.00 4 asiago, 4 cinnamon toast, 1 onion and the rest plain bagels....unfortunately, there were no more pain bagels. Ok..no biggie. I just picked up more asiago ones instead. A baker in the back then said she just had some fresh plain bagels, so I told the lady at the counter to change those other 4 asiago bagels back into plain. No problem. I paid, waited a short time.... got my bagels and left. When I got to the place I was staying... I opened up the bagel box and noticed there were only plain bagels...and no asiago ones. What? Nooooo asiago bagels? I have kids expecting to eat cheesy bagels. Can you imagine what happens when kids are expecting cheesy bagels and they only get plain? Not fun. Soooo...I call the shop and talk to a lady who originally took my order. I explained the situation and she knew exactly what happened. Simple misunderstanding. So I was told to come back to get my 4 asiago bagles. No charge. They were kind enough to understand the dire situation I was in. Kids with no cheesy bagles. I went back and picked up the bagels and everyone was happy. The end. Thank you Caribou coffee for making my day. read more

Extremely fresh bagels, cream cheese...hell, even the capers and red onions are crisp to a T! Very clean inside and fast, friendly and reliable service. The inside is comfy modern rustic and this place makes the perfect rest stop between MSP and DM. Coffee is at least 45 times better than Starbucks. read more

So disappointing:( I ordered a spinach artichoke and provolone breakfast sandwich. Not only can you NOT switch to a bagel of choice or add cream cheese or to whatever your liking is, but it is now a PRE-MADE, microwaved in a bag sandwich. Not worth the price for sure! When I opened up the bag all the ingredients were melted and fallen out to bottom of the pre-made brown sack it was in. It had no flavor and came on a sad English muffin that was doughy. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere, it's not worth the $10+ I spent on this sandwich and medium matcha tea! It's gone down hill and definitely won't be returning. Corporate did it again! read more

1. They don't give a veteran or military discount at all. They were giving an alternate discount in lieu of a veteran discount but it all depends on who is working. 2. Quality of coffee is at the very least ok not so great. So all in all I wouldn't waste up to $3 on a cup of coffee at this place. When asked about a veteran discount, employee looks at you like she lost her thought process and can't fathom any further thoughts. Silliness at its best which inevitably makes the owner lose money. So best not to frequent their coffee shop / hotel / or anything else they own to avoid wasting time and money on something that is not consistent. read more

I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on that except to say it always smells amazing. The bagels always seem really fresh. The honey almond shmear is to die for- so good! Their sandwiches are good too, but I think a bit overpriced for the amount of food you actually get. They do have free WiFi, and it's probably the fastest, most reliable restaurant Wi-Fi in Mason City. read more

My morning visits for breakfast and coffee are always looked forward to when going here. Food is always delicious and coffee as well. The biggest reason I decided to review Caribou however, and one of the best things that makes each visit so pleasant however, is the young gent at the window every morning. I don't know his name but he brightens my mornings. Seems to love his job and is always so polite! His smile is contagious. I was hosting a breakfast meeting and because I live two hours away, having a location that delivers was even better! I was able to order a wide assortment of breakfast bagel egg sandwiches, orange juice for the group, and a large portable carafe of vanilla hazelnut coffee. My order was delivered early and the employee was very friendly and thanked me for my patronage. Nice store, but what the heck is going on here? I ordered a small macchiato. The board said $1.90 but they charged me $2.50. I asked them about it and she. Flippantly said, "oh, we raise prices all the time." Not cool!!! Then my husband ordered a small latte with almond milk and vanilla flavor. They charged .80 for the almond milk and another.80 for the flavor. I'm from Phoenix and we have never experienced this before. We go to coffee shops all the time. Putting a coffee shop with a bagel shop is great. I am a know Starbucks addict, but I will be frequenting Caribou often. I may even switch my allegiance. My favorite drink this summer has been the Turtle Cooler. It's a Snickers Frapp. Yum! And I've never been a fan of Starbucks' food, and I love Einstein's bagels and their bagel sandwiches at lunch time. read more

I absolutely love this place! My favorite is the Herbivore. I usually pick the spinach Florentine bagel and it's deliciously topped with a cream cheese schmear then topped with cucumber, tomatoes, and greens. My 3 year old loves the Greek yogurt/fruit parfaits too. The staff is always wonderful and the best part is, if you decide to go in and eat instead of the drive thru option the atmosphere gives Mason city a Real big City feel. Unfortunately, I had a much different experience from the other reviewers. I stopped on a Sunday morning (5/29) while traveling. This was my 1st experience at a Caribou Coffee Shop although my favorite k-cups for home brewing are Caribou. I was excited to enter the shop and see the variety of caribou mugs (silly, I know, but I liked it.). I spent a couple minutes picking out a travel mug and then approached the counter to order coffees and scones. The young man behind the counter's demeanor was arrogant and bored (as though he had something more important to be doing) despite the fact we were the only customers at the counter. He did not greet us or ask if he could help and when I inquired about the flavor a of the scones and then the coffee, his tone was condescending and his answers unhelpful. After about 3 unhelpful exchanges, I had been the recipient of enough attitude that I told him he was being rude, set my travel mug on the counter, said "I'm done" and walked out of the shop. I was very disappointed because I WANTED that mug, I WANTED the coffee and I WANTED those scones! HOWEVER, no one should put up with that kind of attitude when they go into a business. Maybe he is a new employee, but I'm sure I'm not the only customer he's going to alienate. FOR ME, HE WAS THE FACE OF THIS BUSINESS AND HE DID NOT PASS MUSTER. We ended up with a 12 oz. paper cup of wonderful Caribou coffee from a HyVee 43 mi away, again disappointing, but it was sold to us with a friendly greeting and a thank you.
