Checking out the offerings in towns (which are admittedly limited) and stumbled across this place, which I had no idea even existed. It's tucked in at the far end of a very small strip mall perpendicular to Causeway, across from Lakeside Mall. The shop is TINY and selection is rather limited. The one guy that was in there (owner or manager, not sure which) was knowledgeable, though, and seemed to try and stay on top of making sure he had a full size range in everything that they do carry. Also friendly and helpful with the questions we were asking. They carry some different brands from Harry's, so if you're looking for different options you may want to check here before hitting the web. Of course the size in the one wetsuit that I wanted to try had just been re-ordered, so I was up a creek on that one the day we went in. read more

I had signed up my husband at another dive shop, and after being dissatisfied with the experience, we found Caribbean Dive shop. We both learned how to dive here, have our equipment maintained by their staff, and have travelled to Fiji, Roatan (many) and the Flower Gardens on their trips. The dive certification training was done patiently and thoroughly. I felt prepared when I hit the water for my check-out dive. On every trip I felt safe with their team of dive masters and the top-rated dive resorts they choose to book with. We are so glad we found this shop. As the other review said, inventory on site may look small, but we have been able to purchase or order directly whatever we needed for our dive trips. In fact Dave and Sunday both steered us toward better choices based on our needs. I felt that they saved us money in the long run by helping us make correct choices from the start. read more

If you are in New Orleans and looking for quality dive instruction Caribbean is the place! Sunday and David will make you feel part of the family. They do rental gear, purchase gear, classes, trips and anything you need. My boyfriend and I are so happy we have gotten our open water certification through Caribbean. Small classes for more individual training. She is very thorough and the minute you feel uncomfortable with a skill underwater she lets you take your time, get your composure on the surface and try again! I have been a divemaster with Caribbean for over 20 years. I have also traveled with them for the same amount of time. If you are looking to get certified or are a certified diver already, Caribbean is the dive shop. Their instruction is top notch and always make sure that you experience as close to a one on one learning experience during any type of class. So if you are looking for the best on the gulf coast and the best local dive shop in Metairie , then go visit Dave and Sunday, you will not be disappointed. read more

I have been a customer of Caribbean Dive Shop for over 15 years and have always been very satisfied with the service and products that they offer. After completing my initial PADI open water certification, I continued my training with Caribbean for many specialty and advanced dive courses, and eventually became trained as a divemaster. Both were very qualified and clear in their teaching and demonstrations.
