The staff is really amazing! My father is in the memory care unit and he gets great care. The Rn's and aides are Patient & kind.

Not really a traditionally reviewed Yelp category but as many of us older folks in the area may one…read moreday be looking for a place to hang our Red Sox hats, I say this is where you want to be if you can afford it. Jim P's terrific review says it all. Orchid Cove is better than great in just about every way! Had a nice lunch there today with mom. Perfectly grilled Rueban with fries for a side. Came out quick and hot. Eaten there many times and it's always good with courteous, attentive service. That being said dining is by invitation only from a resident. Lucky me. Took a nice walk around after lunch really beautiful grounds this time of year.

I couldn't disagree more with the other review (dated 5/27/20) of Orchard Cove on Yelp. It's not perfect - no place is - but the relatively small problems at OC do not in any way overshadow the friendly and helpful staff, good food, interesting and useful programs (including performances, art classes, book club, talks on various topics, etc.). I looked at numerous elder communities with my aunt before she moved here, and you will not find anything better (although you will find others that are also excellent - the final choice is determined by location, cost, environment, and personal preference). I would not at all hesitate at all to choose OC for an elder community!

My mother moved to Brightview in November 2017. I'm writing this at the end of March, 2018…read more Enough time to write a useful review. Someone wrote complaining that the Jewish residents were upset by the food. That may be, I don't know. My mother loves the food! I've eaten with her many times, and while I wouldn't suggest Brightview for date night, the food is good and the staff are saintly about putting up with the frequent complaints from some of the residents about EVERYTHING. It is so ridiculous at times that you can't help but wonder if these folks are used to having private chefs prepare their food. Everything from the shape of the mugs to the temperature of the soup! It's important to remember this is a care facility, not a resort. Don't move there for the food! I find it shocking the way some of the residents talk to the staff. And they just smile and keep working. Saints I tell you, saints! Every single staff member at Brightview knows who my mother is by name. Every single staff member at Brightview will stop what they are doing to answer a question, point you in the right direction--whatever. They are very service oriented. They are also polite, friendly, and energetic. My mother can't remember anyone's name and she refers to them as "my darling girls who take care of me." I can't even express how it makes me feel to know Mom feels that way. It is gut wrenching having to tell your mother she has to be moved into a memory care unit--Mom shed a few tears, and didn't understand why. But now that she is there, she is doing just great. They have lots of activities, and she is now getting the help she needs with dressing, bathing, and other person care things. Memory care residents get 20 hours of one-on-one help per week. It's fabulous! Mom's apartment is beautiful. No kitchenette in memory care which has proved to be a blessing. She isn't obsessed with saving her half eaten lunch anymore, and the staff know she won't actually EVER eat food she takes out of the dining room, so she is discouraged from doing that. Her laundry gets done, her sheets get changed, and her apartment is cleaned. The facility itself (common areas) is spotless. Yes, it's pricey, but it's less than the other memory care facility in Canton, which seems to be perpetually full anyway. Maybe people don't know that there is another beautiful facility a few miles away with space that costs a little bit less? I do wish that caregiver "children" like myself were able to get the daily schedule of activities via email, so that I could encourage Mom to participate in the things I know she'd like. I think they're working on that as they were collecting email addresses recently. All in all, I am very happy with Brightview.

Such a warm and vibrant community! Friendly folks and so many fun things to do. Talk about a place…read morewhere everyone knows your name!

I really wanted LP to be better than this rating. - Is it…read moreclean? Seemingly yes in the public areas. - Are there basic systems to make sure your loved one in Independent Living (IP) isn't found dead days later. Yes. - Other than that, it is so very challenging to provide a review of all the issues related to: -- lack of follow-through by IP staff with family caregivers, -- lack of the same by the medical department, and even more so when (gosh forbid) your elder has to go to Rose Court because RC and Medical don't seemingly share data on your loved one. (BTW, the emergency care team at RC is great in and of itself.) Keep your loved one away from the live-in side of RC except for those in deep need of 24X7X365 help. It's a lock-down unit. --lack of staff owning up to/ responsibility not doing their jobs Are the grounds lovely, yes. Is the food really a 1/2 step down from anywhere you don't want to eat again, yes. The local HS kids try to provide good service but fall short. I will admit it can't be easy on the dining room managers to manage the quality of food delivered, food prep itself and training kids in hospitality to serve seniors. And all this for a $250K* buy in (1bdrm) plus ~$2K a month rent with one meal included. Lots of activities are available but I can't speak to the quality. 90% returned to estate when resident dies. *Price from about 5 years ago so this has probably increased. I'm just so frustrated. It's too late for my person to leave because it would be too much disruption. I will keep on advocating and try not to lose my mind. For whomever reads this review, survey all the options and if LP keeps rising to the top then know you will need to be your person's absolute advocate at every turn, with every interaction. Get yourself a notebook and keep it with you to track every interaction.

My mother liked living at Linden Ponds, but we (her adult children) all think the place is a huge…read morerip off. Their commercials are very misleading. Linden Ponds is "independent senior living." You put up a huge sum of money to move in, and then pay an outrageous monthly fee that amounts to a condo fee, with a meal plan thrown in. The food is mediocre at best. How they can possibly justify their $4,000+ a month fee (when you've already given them hundreds of thousands to pay for your apartment) is a mystery. They put my mother, who has dementia, in an ambulance one day and NO ONE CALLED ME. My mother was on a gurney in the hospital, alone, for 12 hours before a nice nurse took pity on my Mom and helped her to call me. I would have rained hellfire down on them for this, but my mother was still living there and I didn't want them to take my fury out on my Mom. Mom is at a new place now where for NO deposit and a bit more each month she gets three meals a day, laundry, and housekeeping done for her. Linden Ponds charges extra for EVERYTHING. It was a very happy day for me when we drove out of their, never to return.
