I have to say I am baffled by the lack of service I have received from this clinic.
I sustained an injury after slipping on ice and falling on January 7. I visited this clinic on January 9. They took an X-ray to determine that nothing was broken, then referred me to get an MRI. My health insurance company denied the request for authorization for the MRI, saying they needed more information from the doctor at the clinic.
I had to call the clinic several times before a doctor finally returned my call and said they would provide more information to my health insurance. More than two weeks after my injury at this point, and having yet to receive treatment for it, I was eventually told by the clinic that my insurance would not authorize my MRI without six weeks of "conservative treatment" from the clinic.
The clinic suggested they refer me to an orthopedist, who could give me some kind of physical therapy. They assured me I would be hearing from them with the contact info for an orthopedist within two days. Three days later, I called them again, and they said the notes in my file indicated that I would receive the referral three days after they had suggested it, so they said I should hear something by the end of that day. That was the last time I heard from CareNow, and it has been more than a week since then.
The day after CareNow was supposed to have called me, I found an orthopedist online who participates in my health insurance and was able to make an appointment for that very day. Forty-eight hours later, that orthopedist succeeded in getting authorization for my MRI.
Because I gave up on CareNow and took the initiative to find my own orthopedist, I am finally getting an MRI so that a physician can determine appropriate treatment for my injury, though thanks to CareNow, treatment will begin more than four weeks after the injury. read more
