I have nothing but positive things to say about this location. I've had multiple appointments with different doctors here pre covid, I've gone to the urgent care during covid for an almost broken toe, I've done virtual visits through the virtual CareMount and all the doctors and staff have been so nice. During covid they've been very safe, keeping everyone social distanced and as less people as possible. Visits are easy, you make the call from your car while you're in the parking lot and wait to be called without having to be with a big crowd. Temperature checks and everyone is covered up and suited up. Love this Brewster location. Conveniently located. read more

FIVE STARS for process and cleanliness. The tall, grumpy guy ( PA?) is growing on me. My goal was to get him to smile. Remember folks, even behind medical mask, people can tell you're smiling. Pet peeve: if I'm paying a premium to see a specialist, I prefer that the specialist take care of me the majority of the visit. This was a return visit because the last time out of desperation and increasingly blurred vision and headaches, my GP asked me to get my eyes checked again. I have a history of narrow angle which was corrected by surgery half a decade ago. So I took it seriously and made the nearly 1 hour, Dr. which required me to take a full day off from work. Let's not forget that during COVID-19, jobs are scarce.MY EXPECTATION of having the specialist do a thorough exam it's not outlandish. DIAGNOSIS: 2020 vision. Of course, no one asked me to remove my correct of lenses when I took the exam. Instead, I was told to increase preservative free eyedrops to every hour and return in three weeks for a follow up.After nearly 3 weeks adding additional eyedrops to my regiment,I saw no improvement whatsoever, took another day off to be seen by the doctor again. This time, grumpy tall guy cracked a smile when I wasn't looking. The young lady assistant/nurse was lovely and pleasant, but once again I am interested in seeing the specialist, especially after having absolutely no improvement from the first time. This time, in addition to the "specialty co pay), they added another test ( I'm sure I'll be out of pocket significantly), and asked me to remove my correct of lenses during the eye exam. I'm not going to mention the doctors name because I did like him and I believe he is probably a very good doctor with excellent credentials, but healthcare costs are so outrageous as it is that asking me to dip into my savings for repeating tests, taking time off from work, etc. is insensitive.RESULT: Surprise, surprise: I need a different prescription. At that, we are probably looking at marginal improvement and another six to $900 investment in new progressive lenses.So, The extra out-of-pocket combined with my having to take two days off instead of one, combined with the lapse of judgment first time around and asking me to leave my glasses on during the exam loses another star.This could've been a five star experience, instead. Three stars is all I can be confident with. read more

Horrible phone system, insensitive staff answering, only to either hang up on you or to transfer you back into the Matrix, and docs who like to check boxes and make money. Very little bedside manner - you're seen as a dollar sign and they want you in and out. It's frustrating to have limited options in the eastern Putnam County area, as Caremount and Northern Medical Group rule the roost. Trying to connect with ANYONE is enough to make me not want to go to any doctor anymore. Beyond frustrating, and all of it truly makes you lose trust in the healthcare system. I won't even dig into Putnam Hospital being one of the home bases for Caremount - they are a whole other sh*t show. I just sent an email via my patient portal to my doctor - let's see how long it takes to respond and how beneficial this turns out to be. I'm not hopeful. It's very unfortunate - there are a lot of people who are far more in need of health services than I am. I can only imagine the levels of frustration, especially if I am feeling this way just to try and get my damn MRI results. read more

Caremount Medical, Now OPTUM, provides the worst customer experience imaginable. The doctors are good, but many are leaving this company. Trying to get a prescription renewal is a nightmare. Your request is either ignored or sent to the wrong pharmacy. And I've used the same pharmacy and prescriptions for YEARS. Technicians don't care about their work. You can't get a person on the phone to correct an issue. Doctors are in too much of a hurry. Incorrect information is put in your chart. Please don't ask any questions, you will annoy them. read more

I have been a patient at caremount medical center for many years. Most of my medical care providers were part of this system. Recently it has been taken over by Optum and since then I cannot get through to my providers offices by phone. I recently stayed on the phone for one hour waiting to get through to a provider. This has happened with different providers - not just one so it seems to be a system wide problem. Generally,I have had very positive experiences with all the staff and doctors, and very good care, but this phone system is extremely problematic and frustrating. I'm new to the area and needed to see a doctor, so I went to Caremount Urgent Care since it was closest to my house. It is the Worst Urgent care I've ever been to. The receptionist was nasty, making a sour face before I even spoke to her. It was 4:00 and they close at 8, but as soon as I said I needed to see a doctor, she cut me off without asking why and said not today, maybe tomorrow afternoon. I realize that' this is heavy flu season as well as COVID numbers are up, but that's ridiculous. Her attitude was just nasty and dismissive, like all these sick people were bothering her. I walked out and on my way an elderly woman in a Walker told me she'd been waiting since noon. Luckily I found Pulse MD on line and was able to schedule an appointment for forty-five minutes from the time I called (and it could have been sooner but I wanted to give myself time to get there.). Caremount Not-So-Urgent Care and their nasty receptionist are the worst, and I feel sorry for anyone who is required to go there by their HMO. I definitely won't be back. read more

I'm writing this as i'm approaching hour 3 of being told I have to wait in my car for a COVID test. Called an hour and a half ago to see what my status was and they told me only a few more minutes because only two people were ahead of me. My car is literally about to die waiting for this covid test, I just called 7 times to see my status and couldnt get through any time, and then got yelled at trying to go into the building to see whats going on edit-** talked to someone finally and they told me 5 minutes, it's been about 20 still no call maybe i'll get to hour 4! that would be exciting read more

Obstructions to every inquiry to this facility. In the name of some sense of quaratine, security, privacy, or recovery from drastic conditions: This process is flawed resulting in no service goes without being strung with waiting. This place needs an overhaul with a common sense leader. A group or management that put patient needs high enough to get results and to see patients. I have not been able to get an appointment in less than two years out. The office wishes to charge me for a missed appointment last year buried in two previous years of life. I share the opinion on the receiving staff. They are put off with engaging incoming patients. Get some priorities for patients or get out of the way please. read more

Avoid the urgent care if at all possible. I came in for an ankle injury. I was asked to call before hand to register and they would call me when a room was available. I waited in the car for 30 minutes. I got a call and was told to come in and I thought that was pretty quick. I came in and sat in the room for another 45 minutes before anyone came in to see me. At this point I was directed to radiology. Waited another 15 minute then back to urgent care to wait another hour before getting called back. Once called back I waited again for another 30 minutes before I found out was going on. In total I was at this urgent care for 4 hours to get my ankle checked. I probably would have been better off going to the hospital. People are friendly and nice but the wait time is absolutely ridiculous. read more

Do not waste your time. My ankle is 3 times its normal size. Make an appointment, Have to wait 2 and a half hours to be told take tylenol. Im in so much pain while on tylenol that I cant sleep. Since Optum took control of CareMount, it only deserves two stars. I started out many years ago at Katonah medical, which became Mount Kisco medical, which between CareMount Medical, which became Optum so I have many years experience with each entity! In the short amount of time, it has been often the wait times to be able to make an appointment have more than tripled case in point I try to make an appointment was on hold for 15 minutes or so. Finally told no we don't have that person's schedule. I'll have to transfer you to the Somers office which they did and I was on hold another 15 minutes or 20 and nobody ever picked up so I tried again the next day with little bit more success but not easy. I won't go into all these sort of details of trying to make an appointment for a combined mammogram ultrasound and bone density, which I have been doing for years, but which is no longer possible at Optum well, it is possible, if you want to wait another nine months.!!! whoever thought joining Optum was a good idea. Must've been thinking with his bank account because nobody is getting any good out of this deal, except a greedy person who initiated it and signed it. read more

Some doctors office are better than others but most that I have used are terrific. Great staff and doctors. Only complaint is the phone system. At times you can be on hold forever and it has always been a problem. In defense of caremount I will say I have started to experience the same issue with my local primary doctor who is NOT part of caremount. Everyone is starting to be short staffed. read more

Husband fell on ice and really injured himself. He works outside as a profession so he can't deal with physical injuries slowing him down. He went to this Urgent Care, was seen relatively quickly, was given great care and he was happy with the overall process. ** 2 weeks earlier I went to the Putnam Hospital ER for legit reasons, my surgeon sent me, and I literally had to wait 4 hours to be seen and they only called on me after I called my surgeon screaming, then he called the PH ER explaining the emergency - just as I did - they had me come back and waiting in another smaller room for 4 more hours... we ended up walking out. So I think Urgent Care can be slow by emergency standards, as we all want to walk right in but for Putnam Country, we are grateful for Care Mount Urgent Care. read more

Dr Mamta Vinit Shah works for Caremount Medical eye department in Mt Kisco. She is a Oculoplastic and Ophthalmologist. My daughter had a serious glaucoma problem. Northern Westchester ER called Dr Shah and she opened her office at 10:30 PM to see my daughter. She examined my daughter and then recommended I see a glaucoma specialist the next day. Any doctor that leaves her house at 10:30 at night is devoted to her job and patients that have serious problems. She called in the morning to follow up. She also touched base with the doctor who I brought my daughter to. Very compassionate doctor. read more

I haven't heard much good about this urgent care, apparently they will only see you if your doctor is part of their group or they will change you $120 plus procedure fee. I brought my friend here once who didn't have medical insurance at all and they didn't do much for them. I cannot elaborate more on urgent care, but I know the doctors that belong to this practice are great. read more

CareMount Medical is a totally greedy establishment! They have way more patients that they can handle and they continue to add more because they are Greedy. They have absolutely no conscious about giving patients the attention and care they deserve. When you go to a CareMount Medical facility it's like you're part of a herd of cattle.I believe the doctors do their best but the organization instead of doing the responsible thing and limiting the enrollment of new patients ,They continue to add more. I've had doctors make mistakes and give the wrong prescription to my pharmacy and then try and blame me saying that I gave them the wrong information. Then trying to get a call back or get somebody on the phone during an important situation is a real hassle.The staff is overworked and therefore prone to mistake. I recently just returned home from going to Urgent Care in Brewster, due to an aggravation of my sciatic nerve, which I could not take the pain anymore. Well, I went there for a shot of Toradol which usually calms it down. The Dr. whose name was Dr. Santos (a woman), walks into the room, does not introduce herself.....says to me "What's wrong"?? No how are you, what can I do for you?? Instead...... "What's wrong"? So, I explain my situation to her regarding my sciatic nerve acting up again, and it's very painful. This woman looked at me like I had 2 god damn heads. Than, I explain to her my PCP usually gives me a shot of Toradol, which usually calms it down. Her response... "yeah okay, I guess that's what we'll do". This Dr was in the room for at the most 3 minutes with me. Needless to say, I left there in tears. Worst MD EVER. read more

My experience over the past two days Urgent caring while black!! I went to the urgent care on my way home because my chest is burning with each breath and I'm feeling really sick. I got there 7:15, they close 7:45pm!! I'm super happy because this was my third urgent care, the other two being closed. I walked in and the receptionist looked at me and said we are closed. I informed her that according to the door tag and website, they are supposed to be opened until 7:45pm. She looked at me and said they had a busy weekend so they decided to close early!! I'm saying but I'm sick and she says sorry we are closed. Now today, I'm back at 7:00pm!! I walked up, one person in the waiting room. I'm told they are closed. I said, you are closed at 7:00pm instead of 7:45pm She told me they had a busy day. Mind you, I'm gasping for breath now and you can barely hear me because of the horseless of my voice. I told her this was my second time and I'm being turned away. She says don't yell at me. I told her I can barely speak, how am I yelling. I took my phone out and snapped a picture, she put her hand up and then ran. I walked out the waiting area. Deciding that I needed to get the number for patients relations, I went back in, just to see them running to lock the door to the back offices. I chuckled and told them I'm not about to break in and attack them. The nursing supervisor told me they met their quota of patients for the day and are not taking anyone else. When I told her I'm going to call patients relations. Her response was that she was not worried. This leads me to believe that this is not an unusual read more

Getting results from urgent care is horrible. The phone tree had me listening to message after message and when you actually get a person on the phone they transfer to a phone that rings and rings then hangs up on you. Then you have to call them back and start the whole process over and 45 minutes later you can get the results. read more

Made me wait for an hour for nothing. Front desk knew exactly what I needed and all I saw was a nurse after an hour saying our doctor won't prescribe that. This review concerns their radiology department. First, the reception people were rude, unhelpful, and officious. Second, something everyone should bear in mind when considering using these facilities. The charge $10 every time you need to obtain a copy of your MRI/X`ray, etc, in addition to the thousand of dollars they charge in the first place. Every other radiology department I have dealt with, perform this minor task without charging. If you need to show the results to more than one doctor, you may be in for a significant, unnecessary rip-off charge. read more
