Terrible management. Run don't walk as fast as you can away from this business. The employees such as the nurses and caregivers take excellent care of the people that come to the center and the people in their homes. But as far as management is concerned they have no backbone and let the employees walk all over them. The transportation department is definitely not a department. I would feel comfortable driving anyone I love around. They are extremely unsafe and have no rules. I was hired to try and straighten the transportation department up because of its failures and unfortunately what they don't tell you is that Holland home actually runs care resources not care resources. It is an absolute uphill battle trying to accomplish anything in a business that is run by a corporation that is not even in the same building as the business they are running and they have absolutely no understanding of what is going on there. It is also important to know that the leaders of Holland home responsible for discipline are scared to death of being sued so they allow their employees to get away with anything they want. If you want a job where you can walk all over your managers, calling in sick whenever you feel like , disobey rules, then this is the place to be employed at. If you are an honest person looking for a real job that will have meaning where good employees are cherished and taken care of and bad employees are disciplined and terminated when necessary this is not the place to go. This place is a life saver for those of us care givers with loved ones in our home. They love on my sister every day. They giver her stimulation to her otherwise home bound life. Even with her cognitive disabilities and dementia she knows they love her. The staff bend over backwards to support our family- especially when they know we are overwhelmed.
