They let me take my time getting up to leave as I have POTS and mixed with dizziness from anesthesia wasn't fun but they took such amazing care of me and I can't thank them enough! The only rude person I came across was at check in downstairs there was a younger woman who was tall and thin who was extremely rude to us but literally everyone else we talked to were BEYOND kind! The office was clean and had plenty of seating in the waiting area. I was taken back for a stress test where you'll run on a treadmill until your heart reaches a certain level. They give you a bottle of water and crackers while you wait in a separate waiting area. The waiting area is private for the patients and family waiting between testing. If you can't get your heart rate up, they give you a medication to raise it quickly. They have a new machine that X-rays your heart while sitting in a special chair that rotates. The other locations don't have this option yet. The staff were all very friendly and kept me comfortable. I like this office and recommend them. Check them out!!

The Fort Norfolk office had always been my choice because it's a closer & familiar route, has convenient parking and is near the Sentara Heart Hospital. I'll have to admit that I wasn't very happy when, needing to see him quickly, my only option was the Chesapeake office. I'm not familiar with the area. So venturing into unknown traffic timing, to see a doctor who is keen on starting the appointment on time or preferably early, made me apprehensive. Following WAZE's wonderful route guidance I headed south on I-64, east on Greenbrier Parkway then south on Volvo Parkway. The Sentara building sits on the east side of Volvo Parkway, rather far back from the road. Parking, including Handicapped, is plentiful. Here I was, not just on time, but early! So I've been back to this office several times. I still have issues with my lack of familiarity with the route, since I can choose lanes, turns and routes in Virginia Beach & Norfolk on autopilot. But the staff, RNs & NPs make up for that. The staff is very pleasant. Although Cardiology is quite busy during these times, they will always book appointments as a place holder with notes to try to get me in sooner. The doctor's preferred follow up date usually isn't available. But sometimes they can work magic. The Chesapeake office RNs who follow up on messages left on Voice Mail go far beyond any that I've had experiences with before. One even tracked down someone from another office who had called, but not left a message. I had no idea who had called since their caller ID is generic Sentara. The Chesapeake RN also managed to get me in at 8:30 the next morning with the Cardiologist. It was magic!! Thank you Jennifer. The Cardiologist & NP's MyChart responses to Blood Work are always prompt. That's so important when you've already seen the results. Thank you Dr. Robertson & Michelle. When I leave the office, considering there is no longer a time constraint, I always go home on the surface streets. WAZE has to direct me from Volvo Parkway to Kempsville Road. But once there, I'm on familiar terrain. I'll be coming back to this office more often. They provide service with a smile.

Not only his surgery took a little over 2 hours, but he was discharged exactly 48 hours after I saw him still with breathing tube. It is a brand new department at CRH. He received royal post surgical care in their ICU where he stayed until he was discharged. Because of Dr. Coleman's "plate"technique, only restriction is not allowed to lift more than 15 lbs! He is still in pain, but moving around without any help from me! Thank you, Dr. Coleman and his team!!!

I've been seeing Dr. Robertson or his PA since my wonderful Pulmonologist, who works closely with…read morehim, convinced him to do a Heart Cath with exercise. My Pulmonologist was convinced my shortness of breath was more severe than it should be with my ILD. I've been with the practice since. The practice is located in the Fort Norfolk Medical Building in the portion of Sentara Norfolk General's complex that is located on the south side of Brambleton opposite the main hospital campus. The location is perfect for patients coming from the north side of Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Portsmouth & the northern part of Suffolk. The building is one I love because of its attached parking garage. Parking is so easy even if the handicapped spots are full. It's also picturesque since there's a beautiful view of the Elizabeth River from the deck. Walk straight into a glass enclosed area where the elevators & seating is located. The building even has a Sentara Advanced Imaging Center. So Cardiology can send me straight up a floor if they order Bloodwork. The knowledge & care of Dr. Robertson & my current PA are extensive. I feel well cared for. The office staff is pleasant & helping. A downside is difficulty in appointment availability, which currently appears to be the case with all the good Sentara physicians. There is an issue with messaging through MyChart being screened before (or if) being sent to my Cardiologist or PA. The current screening person, as did the last, answers with her own opinions (not knowing my history) without sending messages to my PA on updates that the PA wanted. This is a big problem. I've told my PA, who instructed her that my messages to be sent to her. But it still isn't happening. That said, the Sentara Cardiologist department is the practice of choice for those of us who have multiple, sometimes conflicting, issues.
