My Grandma loves it here. The staff is so friendly and helpful and made the decision to downsize extremely helpful.

Mom was a registered nurse until she retired at the ripe old age of 83 and the last 30+ years of her career was spent in nursing homes and care facilities, so she knew what she wanted in one for herself. While Mom was at Southview, she was well taken care of, and despite having a difficult personality (to say the least...), the staff was always friendly and accommodating whenever I came to visit and as I watched my mom interact with them. The facility was clean, attractive, and updated. It is a smaller facility, which is what my mom wanted, and there were many activities available. My mom's space was perfect for her while she was a resident there.

This is the second review I have posted in re to this facility. The first one was two weeks ago when I posted a one star, due to having a loved one in the Memory Care unit, and in a year, especially the last few months saw it seriously decline, and was witness to some disturbing incidences, and lack of any kind of sense. I am now giving three stars due to how quickly and efficiently they responded, and took action. Clearly they pay attention to reviews. Two days after posting my initial review, this unit had done a 180° ! Employees who were problematic had been let go,the staff was working as a diligent team, treating eachother and residents with help and kindness without bickering or complaining, tasks getting done in a routine manner, and more managers present. I emailed them to let them know how impressed I was with what I saw and then had a terrific conversation with the overall director . She took no sides, just addressed and took action professionally. It has been so different visiting my "Nona" this last 4 visits, and I give kudos to them for their attention to addressing their problems .

Staff just sitting on couch on their phones, if it was so understaffed then definitely wouldn't have time for that. Very expensive for absolutely awful care if any care at all. Unexplained bruises, a couple falls, diaper always wet, they definitely don't shower/clean the patients regularly if at all, laundry service nonexistent, never followed dietary orders, and on and on. Have no idea what I was paying for other than a roof over her head, a very expensive roof. Don't send your loved one here!!!

His food was inedible due to his physical inability. (He could only eat mostly liquid and would get a chicken sandwich on bread with French fries. Never had any water in his cup and we always had to request it. He would drink minutes on end when we got him some. I don't think anyone cleaned his room while he was there as the same piece of trash was on his floor the entire time. Many staff members were great but others could have cared less....When I witnessed a mostly naked woman in a walker coming down the hall asking about dinner and no one doing anything to help her was sickening. I actually covered her up and helped her walk and sit down. Another man was in shorts and T-Shirt and was freezing. Gave him some clothes and he was so thankful. Staff even told me that the place was crap and no one would do anything to fix anything unless you demanded. DON'T SEND ANYONE THERE!!!

This is a terrible place! Do not put your loved one here. Under staffed,…read morenot clean and I know first hand that my mother was not treated respectfully by aids. They let her sit in extremely soiled depends and then get a terrible sore that they did not know how to treat. This was seen at the hospital we took her to. Rooms were not clean, laundry facility was a mess. They throw everyone's laundry in together and then don't know what clothes belong to what resident. Memory care workers do not understand how to handle people with dementia. They just yell at them! They make all the residents come out of their rooms to the main area where they can just babysit them while talking on their phones. PLEASE don't fall for their fake presentation on tours.

It is unclear exactly when the break occurred, but surgeon believes it was around 7/9/25. The nurse, Pamela Wisnewski, filed an incident report stating "Staff was nearby, reported resident was witnessed ambulating started shaking, threw herself on the floor. No apparent injuries." As POA, I was not alerted, instead my brother was called & told there was no injury. He went to facility the next day & noted my aunt's leg was turned at a 45 degree angle & she had a large hematoma on her hip. He had her sent to hospital where it was determined she had broken her femur at the neck. When I called that day to get more information for the hospital about the incident, another Michael House nurse, Vidya Boodram, stated "I have other patients to deal with. I have another job besides this one & I am tired. I'll have to call you back another time." When no call came, I called her supervisor, Ms. Wisnewski. She claimed that my aunt had "thrown herself on the ground" several times that week. Yet, we were never told & no one investigated why she was falling. It fits with her femur being broken & not being able to put weight on that leg. A couple days later, Ms. Wisnewski called to ask how my aunt was doing. I told her she had to have hip replacement surgery. She acted surprised & said, "well, at least she lived through the surgery"! This is clearly inattention to a critical medical situation. My aunt fell to the ground because she couldn't stand with a broken femur. No one bothered to notice her leg being at an unnatural 45 degree angle or the large protrusion at her hip. The incredible lack of empathy exhibited by Ms. Boodram and, subsequently, by Ms. Wisnewski is appalling for a medical professional dealing with the elderly.

The employees and residents were friendly and welcoming. and the place was clean and organized. On my follow-up visit, I made a point to speak with several residents about their experience at St. Louis Hills. Each one spoke proudly and positively about their home, reaffirming my strong first impression. Now, three months in, we couldn't be more pleased. The staff truly go above and beyond -- not only are they attentive and compassionate, but they also bring a joyful energy that creates the atmosphere we had hoped for. One example of their attentiveness really stood out to me: because my dad is hearing impaired, I was concerned he might not hear aides when they knocked. After I shared this concern, the maintenance team promptly installed a flashing light system to alert him when someone is at the door. My dad is receiving exceptional care, enjoying delicious meals, and benefiting greatly from the outstanding physical and occupational therapy services. I'm deeply grateful to everyone at St. Louis Hills -- thank you for treating my dad like family.

This was such an incredibly difficult season for our family, but so many of the nurses, aides, therapists, and staff treated my grandma with patience, kindness, and dignity. She had dementia and could definitely be stubborn and sassy, but they learned her personality, her likes and dislikes, and how to make her feel comfortable and safe. They laughed with her, talked with her, cared for her, and treated her like a person rather than just another patient. Our family was there constantly, especially toward the end of her life, and we were able to see firsthand how much compassion many of the staff had for her. They celebrated her 82nd birthday with us, helped make her days a little brighter, and showed our family kindness during some of the hardest moments we have ever experienced. Delmar Gardens became more than just the place my grandma stayed. It became the place where we spent so much of our final time with her, made memories with her, loved on her, and eventually said goodbye to her. Losing her has been absolutely heartbreaking, but I will forever be thankful for the people who helped care for her along the way. Thank you to everyone who loved on our grandma, put up with her sass, made her smile, kept her comfortable, and treated our family with compassion. Those things may have seemed small in the moment, but they meant more to us than you will ever know.
