I was originally going to give them four stars, but the butcher counter knocked it down to three stars for me. I was born and raised in LA so my go to has always been Vallarta. Now that I live in MoVal, Cardenas is the closest grocery store like it so I shop here now. I should preface with saying I only come here for the produce section on most days. On occasion I buy meat and tortillas. Parking is plentiful. You'll always find a cart available. I spend the bulk of my time in the produce section. I've found that their produce lasts me much longer than other grocery stores in the area. Like any grocery store, not every single item is going to be as fresh as the day it was picked. But generally they have great quality and amazing pricing. I have had the pan dulce. I just think it's a tad overpriced at 4 for $5 for my liking. I'd rather support my local panaderia at that point. I love going to the tortilleria for fresh flour tortillas for burritos. They're a tad pricey at $4.99 a bag so I only buy it on occasion. It's certainly more convenient than making it at home. The self-check out is pretty convenient if you don't have a cart full of groceries. I did have trouble one time and the attendant was able to help me once I asked for assistance. Personally, I'm neurodivergent and get overstimulated quickly so I appreciate the lack of customer service others mentioned In all seriousness, I haven't experienced anyone being rude. But they're also not going out of their way to greet you or check in to see if you need assistance. It would be great if they had more than one lane with an attendant open. I've seen it get backed up several times. It could be solved easily by opening up a second lane. I appreciate that they have security working at night. I rarely get my shopping done during the day so I couldn't even tell you if security is working then, but I feel safer walking to my car at night knowing someone is watching the area. I have generally enjoyed going to the butcher here for a couple meats on occasion. I love the bistec ranchero for carne asada, but the price is a bit steep in this economy at $13.99/lb. Today, I went to restock as we were out of protein in my home. I got four different cuts of meat, two beef and two chicken. Two things occurred that really bothered me. (1) The butcher failed to change gloves between handling different types of raw food, like different species of meat (beef and chicken), which I suspect may be a health code violation. (2) The butcher used the same contaminated gloves when creating the labels and handling each bag of meat. All of my bags were contaminated :-( Unfortunately, I was in a hurry to get home as my husband needed the car to go to work so I didn't have an opportunity to say something or talk to someone. So I knocked down a star for the cross contamination. read more

Horrible customer service at their kitchen area, employees are rude and not happy to deal with customers, I was skipped and ignored by staff. I regret waking in. This regarding the cooked food section. It seems like the customer's presence is an inconvenience for them. I spoke with a manager on duty and voiced my grievance and give her feedback. I left my cart full of groceries and took my business elsewhere. Hopefully this is addressed and corrected. read more

I have to give a big shoutout to the pastry department for their delicious fruit biónico! The fruit was incredibly fresh, sweet, and perfectly ripe. The combination of creamy topping, granola, coconut, and drizzle made every bite absolutely amazing. read more

This is review is for employee Vanessa at the self checkout registers. She provided horrible customer service. I was at the register and selected the wrong vegetable. She was standing one register away, and appeared to be lost in thought. Due to not having a name tag, I grabbed her attention by calling her "miss" multiple times. She finally turned to face me and I explained my issue. Without acknowledging me, she walked to the register and with a very impertinent attitude, she cancel the previous selection and walked away. This entire interaction she did not speak a word. I feel my request should not have been an inconvenience for her, given it was only one item, to display such poor customer service. I understand we have bad moments in life, but let them show to your customers is unacceptable. read more

Tu chica en la caja, con el pelo rizado y brillante. Tiene una actitud seria e indiferente. Hablas con ella, subes las escaleras y le preguntas qué le pasa, y te dice que está bien. Con razón este mercado tiene tan baja calificación. Simplemente no te importa. Simplemente llevaré mi negocio a un lugar inteligente y definitivo. read more

Cardenas Markets - No volveré, soy cliente habitual desde que abrieron, solo consigo algunas cosas que me faltan para hacer mi salmón. - Meat Shops Near Me - Moreno Valley, California

I like going here to get my meat products. Because they're a little bit more cheaper than at the. Regular store and they are very fresh. I brought some oxtails from them and and they were pretty big.And I got about 8 to ten for forty dollars. It was well worth it read more

The smell of cake and bread being baked, the smell of carnitas and tortillas being made freshly , and the view of the products that are available with a discount price looks well and organized. It would be 5 stars but like in every Cardenas Markets, the customer service needs improvement but the effort is much noticeably. Many of the employees don't know how to translate but now a days we have apps on our phone that can take care of that. The employees here try there best even though they have many things to do and sometimes that's the reason for the way the customer service is handled. So have patience with them, some of them are new. Other than that , the parking lot is available, there are always shopping carts at the entrance, and the restrooms are cleaner than other businesses. By the way , there is always toilet paper and soup to wash your hands. read more

Be careful with the "Cardenas" brand milk sold at this location, twice it's happened to me that their milk goes bad way before expiration date. I purchased 2 of these gallons on the 13th of April with expiration date of the 29th, well the first one expired on the 18th and the other expired on the 20th. At a price of $4.49 it is not fair. I did reach out to their customer service number which of course was a voicemail read more

Really fresh fruit, very convenient and easy to get to. I also liked the prices of the meat.

Yes, I give them a thumbs up for service. I go to the food court every week to get the special $6.00 grilled chicken, when I say the taste is magnificence. Wednesday & Thursday. It's grilled to perfection , you also receive tortillas and sauces. So if your on a budget and want some fresh grilled chicken stop by. They have other items too. Also let me rave about the servers, great customer service Especially EDWARD, he is the best always so courteous. Thanks for listening FYI on Perris & Sunnymead read more

This market is completely and utterly disgusting! Been here a few times because I live close and it's convenient but every single time I go here I come home with something expired! The place smells horrible and they do not rotate their products! I even had an unexpired milk from there a week ago and came home, opened it and it was spoiled! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy! read more

How is this Cardenas still open? Or how do they even make money? The produce is always rotten or they will rot then very next day. Sometimes the milk is expired, gross right? The meet , oh man the meet will literally smell like straight dumpster. I have bought cake from them multiple times and majority of the time the tres leche always comes out with old milk. I came today to get a little cake after two years and they are still the same. Giving out rotten products. Called them to see if I can get a refund and la maldita vieja se enoja, like why she mad for? She swears like she's going to give me MY MONEY back from her paycheck. read more

The Cardenas on JFK & Perris... Every single time I purchase beer over there. The boxes are trash. I get a 24 pack of Budweiser. Always broken down boxes. literally three times..got home and had 3 to 4 bottles broken. I always assumed it was the condensation from the icebox that made the cardboard box soft. Yesterday 7/28/24 went to purchase a 24 bottle Budweiser... what did you know? One left, but when I went to the area everything all beer& alcohol beverages were out of the icebox area. Finally the store is replacing the cold area. It was filthy and grimy! Thanks Cardenas after yrs of disappointment! BTW.. I had 2 bottles that were broken! read more

I went to purchase a money order in the Cardenas one of the employees had profiled me and said I look "too Mexican" and I would need my California real ID to purchase the money order , I didn't have it on me at the time. But I went after it and came back to purchase the money orders, even after proving I have a ID the lady was still rude and extremely unprofessional especially in the times we are in, I will try and get the employees name so I can report them to Cardenas directly, but if you look Mexican be careful they will racially profile you! read more

Great place to get some food to go when you don't want to cook. Their soup is good and it comes with all the trimmings. Champarado is a good hot drink made with chocolate. The cashier today was acting very, very suspicious. When I had entered my credit card she started taking pictures of her screen, and my card got denied. I asked her why she was taking pictures and she told me she didn't speak English. I tried my credit card two more times as she continued to take pictures and giggled and kept saying she doesn't speak English. I ended up having to use my debit card and I was furious over that. My credit card locked because of suspicious activity at Cardenas. I wanna know what she was taking pictures of and why she was allowed to even have her cell phone while she was working. tried it again and she continued to take pictures of her side of the screen and my card locked. I received a message from my bank before I even left the store that there was suspicious activity thank God I was able to decline it. I will NEVER go to that store again!!!!!! read more

Cardenas Stores over all needs a lot of work on Customer Service period. Every single one of them I got to visit this weekend are extremely in need of new management who ever is the top CEO or even whoever is the owner of the incorporation needs to figure it out what they are doing wrong every looks like they are so unhappy to be there not willing to say good day or even a something small as a smile. Cardenas needs a better selection in music if you had more happy to listen music the customers wouldn't look so unhappy to be there. The store looks chaotic. The vibration of the store is so bad I knew something wrong was going to happen and it did. CARDENAS CEO PRESIDENT AND OWNERS LEARNED HOW TO TREAT YOUR PERSONAL AND YOUR. CUSTOMERS. Wow so surprised of all the negative reviews! But... I don't live here, just visiting my girls, so I come here for Mexican products & cheap booze, so there it is. I don't stay in long enough to notice the service & all kinds of people, all kinds of stuff, right?! Nothing unusual if you've been there done that so don't be surprised. I do have to say I wish they had these markets in LA, it's nice that they offer a lot for groceries and precooked or hot foods. Definitely an asset. read more

Rebeca has the worst customer service I've experienced shopping at this store. She didn't allow me to enter my number for the rewards points & when I asked her about it she was very careless about it. She also didn't offer me a bag for my grocery. Sorry guys but seeing big colored flies stepping and eating from pan dulce and your baking staff not trying at least to get rid of them makes me give you a bad review, now I will see if management will do something about it! This Cardenas as least has a manager that cares about there customers. I've been trying for almost two weeks to buy Pepsi 2-Liters from my local Cardenas in Banning. You can tell this store favors Coke, which is their business, but they have plenty of items that are on sale. The store in Banning can care less about their customers, and tell you "they know it hurts the customer, but they aren't offering sale item because they are mad at the vendor" Thank you to this manager for offering the items in your add. You can tell this store wants to take care of their customers, Cardenas should send this manager to Banning (I know this would be a punishment) to show that manager how to run a grocery store. Kudos to this Cardenas, since I work in the area, I will stop by this store for my items. read more

I've come to this Cardenas on corner of Perris and JFK st A few times on my way home and every time I'm disappointed, the lack of food hygiene and health code violation is discussing all the fruit and veggies are bad quality and the pan dulce display always had flys in there. I feel since there are a few mexica stores around the area they don't feel they need to up their quality. I talked to the manager Celso and he didn't seem to care. The employees at the Kitchen of this supermarket are very rude and give attitude to customers in front of the manager without any secrecy & the manager allows it. Me being a witness of Stephanie & Brayan I believe acting the way they were to this guy that had went to return meat that he got just an hour ago like myself was saddening and made me grow much concern. Hearing from the guy that he was upset because it wasn't his first time getting meat that was already rotten at this grocery store. I had a really bad experience today that made me not want to come back.
