I have nothing much to say. If you want cheap cards (and with the ever expanding number of Hallmark days, who doesn't) without sacrificing quality or choice then this is the place. They sell assorted tack too. read more

Brian's actually sells more flowers and a wider variety than most florist shops, which oddly I feel tend to be a bit minimalist flower-wise. The flowers here look happy and healthy and are affordably priced. There is a nice range to suit most tastes, though nothing particularly exotic or unusual. They also sell a small range of pretty pot plants. If you're looking for a reasonably priced gift or want to brighten up a dull room, Brian's Florist may well be worth a look.

A bunch of daffodils is a bunch of daffodils so why pay more? They have neat bunches of roses and pretty bouquets of lilies and other wonderfully colourful flowers that I don't even know the name of. Oh how out of touch we are with nature in this technological age! If you fancy a brush with nature and genuine Yorkshire folk then you can pick up pots of primroses for a mere 50p at Brian's!

This branch of Paperchase is located in Leeds Train Station, it is a fairly interesting part of the…read morestation which is split off from the main hustle and bustle of the concourse and also features other stores such as Starbucks. Overall, Leeds Station is large so does have quite a few shops inside, ones which would be unusual to find in a train station normally and one of these stores includes Paperchase, I have only seen a Paperchase in a train station once before, as I recall this was in the summer when I went to Newcastle, which appeared to be quite a modern branch. This store seems quite small and has a slightly girly feel to it overall, it mainly stocks items of the cards and arts and crafts markets rather than having a huge selection of stationery for example. This branch is one of two stores which Paperchase has in Leeds as I recall, with a larger location closer to the "shopping center" of Leeds, yet not apart of The Trinty Mall. This store overall as mentioned just feels rather unusual in its location, does it offer a huge benefit to its location? Not really. I'm struggling here, the overall feel, selection and location of this store, isn't great and this store for me really is a maverick store due to the reasons discussed and I'm struggling to warrant it deserving anything other a single one-star rating, I'm sorry to report which is a shame too, considering it is nearly 8 years since this place was reviewed for the first time (which also happened to be when this place was last reviewed).

It's convenient and has been a life saver for me on many occasions due to my brain having the storage capacity of a sieve. What's also nifty is the odd gift that they stock, if you've got a creative type then a nicely clad/bound/decorated notebook and pen is a good rescue, and what d'you know, they also stock gift wrap and bags. Phew. There's a nice selection of genres from the cute to the funny to the sloppy to the cartoon, the serious, the heartfelt and the contemporary. It's a small cube of a store that's tightly packed with stock from floor to ceiling and the last time I was in, the 3 or 4 members of staff on shift seemed a little unwarranted but what they hell eh? They're ruddy rude!!! One lass didn't even bother to look at me as I handed over my intended purchases, she just called out the price, carried on her conversation and stuck her hand out for my dosh. How flippin rude! In my own act of small rebellion I fished out all the shrapnel in my pocket and chucked it down on the till area. Hah! Take that rude sales assistant. Anyone else had this treatment, or was it just my face she took umbrage with?
Cards Galore

Particularly handy…read moreif, like me, you have a tendancy to go and visit friends and family for birthdays and such, then only just remember as you get to the station that you'd forgotten to pick up a card for them. D'oh! Thankfully there is now plenty of choice in Leeds station if you're in this position! There's Funky Pigeon, Paperchase and WH Smiths all selling greetings cards, but this shop will definitely be my first choice in future. The thing that makes this shop the one I'd choose over Funky Pigeon and Paperchase is the size and layout of the shop. The quality and range of cards and gifts on offer is as good as at those other two outlets, and the prices are about the same. But browsing for a nice card in here, especially if you've got a bit of luggage with you for your journey, is just so much easier when you've got a bit more room to manoeuvre! You know I'd even go so far as to say I might even come here to look for a card even if I wasn't passing through the station! I did get some particularly special sparkly wrapping paper for my mum's 60th birthday pressie earlier this year, and I've never seen anything like it before elsewhere, so I think if I was looking for a really nice card / gift / wrapping paper in town and couldn't find anything that really hit the right spot, I'd come and have a look here. However I would have to expect to pay that little bit more for a product from a store like this, selling premium products in a place like the train station.

Had I have known this place was here I wouldn't of taken him anywhere near it as predictably he spent nearly an hour here gawping. After much resistance I finally gave in and allowed him to get something that looked half alien half wolf. He did try to explain to me what it was but I wasn't really listening. The best part though was that he had been a grumpy teenager for most of the trip but after a little while in this shops he was positively cheery.

Although the cards on offer are very cheap, and they do sell those pink helium balloons, which I do enjoy popping ato make my voice sound like a mouse. But honestly, there is nothing original about this shop, which grates me with such an outlandish claim for a title! The staff in there are nice enough, but I'd rather make my own card.
