I went in here because I was lured in by the smell of candles and OH my, was I in for a treat! There on every shelf was candles, handmade candles that smelt lovely. I had to buy one. Not only that they had cards and little gifts but what is unusual in here is that they make chess sets and wire models. Like I said in another review, Uppermill offers something unique to a shopper. This little business is set up online and have around four websites; one main one for the shop and three others for ordering helium balloons, making badges and also making chess sets! WOW!! This is a fantastic shop on Market Street in Hyde, just down from where Kwik Save used to be…read more I was told about this shop by a friend of a friend, and I didn't even know it existed. But I am so glad I found it! It looks tiny from outside, but inside its huge! It sells all matter of cardmaking and scrapbooking supplies, at ridiculously cheap prices, such as 3 sheets of peel-off stickers for £1 when they are £1 each in hobbycraft and other stores. They have tons of stock, and it is well set out. The staff are friendly and helpful, and go out of their way to help you. The only downside is that when you go you spend a fortune, because its well worth stocking up on everything at their prices!! I try and visit there every couple of weeks because they are always bringing new stock in, and you never know what you will find!! If you do go, a few things not to be missed are: *3 sheets of peel-offs for £1 *Disney foam mounted stamps - £1 each (and they are quite big!) *3D foam squares, a big sheet for 50p *Handmade card embellishments such as wedding outfits made from paper, 60p a pack of 2 *Deckling scissors from 50p a pair Get down there right away, it's amazing! It is cheaper and somewhat economical for a homeowner to buy a plastic tree that will last years and still kind of look real. But for me Christmas is not the same without a proper tree. They are different and unique and somehow look better when decorated. This shop not only sells trees but also decorations that are unique and get you in the spirit of the holiday. They have a large stock of different colours and tinsel and cards etc. I can go in here anytime of the year and feel like I am in Christmas. I love it!

It still has its loyal clientele though - needlework fans, various members of my family who have taken up knitting - I knitted my boyfriend a hat but all my friends laughed at him so now his sister has it, shame.. Anyhoo, it also has an awesome selection of buttons. Aren't fashion mags always telling to 'update' your 'wardrobe' by sewing new buttons on things. Well here they all are, more buttons than you could scare my old Art teacher with. She was scared of buttons.
