I won't go into it's background as other reviews have already mentioned, just updating that as of September 2023 admission is £17 for adults, free for children under 17, and local students, and discounted 20% for English Heritage members. Audio tours are £5 to rent, guidebooks are £10 for purchase. Hours are Mon-Sat 9AM to 5PM and Sun 11:30AM to 5PM, with last admissions an hour prior to closing. This is a working church so they have services and special events do check their website before you book. Interesting enough the single ticket is valid for 12 months so you may revisit within the year if you would like, I guess that accounts for the higher price of admission compared to some other cathedrals, maybe also bc there are currently renovations being done to the exterior of one of the main towers. The town of Canterbury has a walkable (about a 15 min walk from edge to edge of city center), pedestrian friendly main thoroughfare with lots of shops and restaurants, if there was one thing I wished coming on a brief day trip to a couple places, was that I got a couple more hours to walk around and explore the town, after spending about 45 minutes inside the cathedral itself.

It looks very expensive, I was very pleasently surprised to find the prices were very reasonible. I found a wizard of Oz keyring for £3 that I had seen in Past Times for £5! We also bought a very lovely 3ft snowman ormament for £15, I asked my other half how much he thought it would be and we guessed around £30, I was really pleased with it for £15. They sell a great selection of paper items such as cute cards and wrapping paper, note books etc as well as Christmas decorations and gift items. I will certainly be shopping there again and would recomend it as a lovely shop to pick up something different without it costing a fourtune.

The post office always has a huge queue and you can wait for some time to get served. The store itself stocks a good range of books, craft, stationary, computer supplies, magazines and has a small snack/drink section on the ground floor. There is also a post box on the ground floor by the stairs.

For valentines, my boyfriend arranged a bouquet with my favourite flowers, when he went to collect…read morethem, they had given my flowers to someone else! He was only 5 minutes late and they already given the flowers away, and the individual that got them didn't even ask for those flowers either. Meaning he also did not get what he asked for. To make matters worse the bouquet they had given him only had one of the flowers I asked for, and the rest were ugly filler flowers! He took the refund, the woman at the counter refunded the money to the wrong card and he informed her of that, she said there's nothing I could do about that when she could actually cancel the transaction and redo it. He left the flowers, meaning everything was a waste of time, money, and they didn't even try compensate or give him another. No one at the store knew how to handle this, horrible customer service, incompetent and unprofessional!!!!
