Chori happened to be close to our hotel so headed over for an early dinner on Thursday around 6:30…read more The place was empty but right before ordering noticed "reserved" signs were being placed on the tables. Turned out a couple of Food tours were arriving soon. Lucky we were ordering takeaway. Smaller spot with just about an equal amount of in/outdoor seating. We ordered a couple of the Guest Chori's-The Juan Pedro Caballero (pork) and the Carneceria (beef). Juan Pedro had tortilla chips and peppers and the pork chorizo sausage was saltier than the beef. We ordered a Chimichurri sauce on the side and enjoyed it. We liked the Pork more than the Beef-just was more flavorful. The Bread was thick, soft and held up to the Choripan and condiments well. Potato salad with al dente potatoes was tasty. They also have beer and cocktails so ordered a Gin and Tonic while we waited for our order. Friendly people behind the counter. Food was ready in about 15 minutes. That said, I can see they could get busy and have longer wait times. Make this stop for local grilled sausage deliciousness.
Chori was located in Recoleta and was painted bright yellow and hard to miss…read more They had inside counter level seating and some outdoor tables. They served mostly chori and one morci (blood) sausage sandwiches but with a twist with their toppings. You could get just the sandwich or combine with side and drink. I picked the Invitado Juan Pedro Caballero and the cashier hesitated before entering the order as she wanted me to know it was picante. I assured her it was not a problem and then paid with my credit card. After a short wait, they called my name and I picked up my choripan. it was quite the handful filled with layers of roasted peppers, tortilla chips, onions and lettuce. The tortilla chips were stale but overall I liked the flavors especially with the heat from the peppers and chipotle mayo. It was a nice twist on the popular choripan.

I haven't had a satisfying vegetarian meal in Buenos Aires until we found this place…read more Excellent mashed sweet potato and carrot tart. The portion was huge and the taste was incredible. I also had a green juice with kale lemon and ginger that provided the zing that I needed. We found it we're going to be regulars!

What a fail of a place for the vegetarian yelpers…read more after 3 weeks in argentina surviving off of bread and cheese or pasta/pizza and the occasional lentil salad, I decided to search yelp for a vegetarian restaurant close to Palermo. This place was highly rated and some reviews promised a veggie place so i set out happily. I walk in and its a make to order salad place. In the "pick your protein" section there is chicken, tuna, beef and bacon. Yeah.. panceta means bacon. Awesome. When I asked if he had a veggie burger or tofu the man behind the counter looked puzzled and annoyed. When I asked if i could replace it with nuts he said no, i could pick from the veggies. Which made no sense. I paid 53 pesos for rhe price of a salad with meat but without any actual meat. Awesome. There is ONE veggie thing on the menu which is surprise surprise bread with cheese sandwich. Whoo! I dont give this place 1 star because the service was fast, and the salad was well presented. Im sure if Id gotten meat I would have felt full. **veggie yelper friends, if looking for a good place with actual vegetarian food: i found one two blocks away at the food court in the Alto Palermo mall. Not all hope is lost! Stay strong! :)

It's a great way to learn about a country and it's good. A nice way to meet new people. Often, the food tour guide will also recommend other restaurants (gems or where locals eat) one must try. Anyway, Parrilla Doña Tota is named after Maradona's mom. This resto is really an hommage to Maradona. There are pictures of him and his family everywhere. My husband abc I ate both Argentina (futbol) fans so we were stoked! You can tell this place is a local fav. It's a casual and the staff were so nice and welcoming. We had several dishes to include: steak (of course - when in Argentina, you have to eat steak), fries, the dulce de lèche flan was out of this world delicious). Other local dishes we had was the Morcilla (black pudding sausage), and tortilla de papas (potatoes with eggs dish). I definitely recommend this resto. It was reasonably priced as well. Oh and we enjoyed the wine, specifically the Malbec.

Here, they do all the right things and serve tons and tons of meats. They have it all, so good in fact, Diego Maradona himself once dined here when he was alive. The service was immaculate, everyone was very friendly and welcoming, we happened to walk in right during a slow day, and it was perfect. The ambiance is very cozy, lots of paintings of prominent Argentine figures such as Carlos Gardel and of course Diegito. I highly recommend coming to dine here, the food is well made and the wine selection is very nice as well (We opted for Coca W/ Fernet since we were on our way to watch Futbol)
