It was a dark and stormy night, no, afternoon, that, after a harrowing few hours on the Great Ocean Road, I rolled Apollo Bay. It wasn't immediately evident how exactly to check in, but after shuffling around cars with another guest and making my way up to the front office, I found instructions for so-called late check-in (basically, after 5 or so), re-parked my car, and made my way to the unit.
The two-level, two-bedroom unit wasn't anything special, but it was clean and cute, albeit hot in the evening. Then again, I was more or less just in the market for a place to spend the night en route to the Twelve Apostles.
Breakfast the next morning, which centered around eggs cooked to order, did the trick and it was nice finally having the chance to interact with the staff, all of whom were smiling and friendly. After breakfast, we were on the road again! read more
