We had the opportunity to have Derek and Maya as our guides and what a blast they were. Women of Colorado hosted a weekend in Salida with zip lines and hot springs. We felt very welcome, I will 100% recommend this outfit and will be back again.

Awesome sunset

Adrenaline firehose and amazing workout on the areal course with a phenomenal view! Scare the crap out of yourself while challenging yourself and your balance, then enjoy the beautiful sunset. Had an awesome time, my guide was Derrick, a badass pro skateboarder- was an awesome DJ and singer, kept the experience extremely fun. Do not think being in shape alone will get you through the higher ones, it is straight up 2 hours of MXC / America Nina warrior stuff! Pro Tips: drive the speed limit going there, I got nailed by the PoPo & don't use up all your energy on the green, safe your stamina for the blue! Also, Amica's is a legit eatery (you get free drink tickets from Capt. Zipline)

This is an obstacle on a blue course. People aren't to go on the same one at the same time..so selfie time for me.

Had a wonderful time! Chose to do both the aerial rope course and zipline experience in the afternoon. We were the first and only people signed up for our aerial course experience but Derek was a wonderful guide. Super friendly and cracking all the jokes, he would fit right in as a Jungle Cruise tour guide in Disneyland. He gave us plenty of time to understand the mechanics of the harnesses and brought great tunes into the canyon so it wasnt an awkward silent experience. He gave proper advice and support when needed and let us each concentrate on maintaining our balance when we needed it. When we returned for the zipline experience we were lucky enough to have Derek again with Tony as an additional guide. We had 2 other people join us and it was great to have both guides to help keep the energy up. I was so grateful to have a familiar face because my husband wasnt going to go on the zipline course after the aerial experience (he enjoyed it but...he is afraid of heights). Both Derek's encouragement and Tony's light hearted jokes really helped ease his fears and he ended up doing the WHOLE thing and loving it. I truly cannot wait to return to the aerial course and take on more courses that I didnt get to. It was 2.5 hours and we started on the easy courses and built our way up. I truly am hooked and would love to return to take on a double black diamond course one day. The zipline experience is where the scenic views are at. Bring a go pro if you have a great group for awesome footage. Dont forget to look down! If you want an experience with a friendly staff, beautiful views, and unforgettable memories I couldn't reccomend this place enough!

"Hashtag Selfie!" Our guides were both fantastic.

Let me just start by saying that I'm a 42-year old veteran cop. I've been shot at, punched, had my squad car rammed by badguys, and kicked more than a few doors when I knew that someone was probably hunkered behind them waiting for me with a gun. I say all that to say this: I don't really consider myself a pansy, but I fu**ing LOATHE heights. I mean, nauseous on a stepladder, let's just put the Christmas lights along the sidewalk, who cares if it's raining in the living room because the Legion of Boom riding a herd of wild unicorns couldn't drag my ass onto the roof DETEST heights. So of course, when my wife said she wanted to go ziplining while we were in Colorado, I had a good cry and then turned on the Google machine. Captain Zipline popped up, I booked us, and proceeded to drive to what I was sure would be a shrieking, tear-filled, 7-second vertical canyon tour involving gravity, a sudden stop, and my two minutes of fame on CNN as rescue teams were being filmed searching for my molars on the desert floor. I was so wrong. We had to do a last-minute reschedule, moving from an afternoon tour to the morning one. Easy and trouble free. They were great about it. When we arrived, after I finished applying sunscreen and Rolaids, we met our two guides, Josh and Rob. GREAT guys--highly competent, super kind, and very good at putting everyone at ease. So, off we went. The sign in process was blessedly brief, the outfitting and instruction portion was easy to follow and informative, and then it was go-time. My stomach and armpits were all like "we're totally walking back," but my feet and ego were like "Your wife already went. Stop. Embarrassing. Us." Next thing I knew, I was 200 feet above the canyon floor on a freaking cable, cruising through the sky like Iron Man. Well--okay--if Iron Man was trying really hard not to let out a little bit of pee. But the heights thing? ZERO issues. It was awesome, and I was in. After the third run, I was trying to get up front at the stations, and probably being obnoxious to both our guides. It's what I do, okay? Anyway, I was having a blast. The entire tour was just over two hours, and well worth the 79 bucks. The scenery and location are both gorgeous, as is the drive in. You get six trips over the canyons, and the speed and views are very cool. The staff were fantastic, and the entire operation was very professional and extremely safety-conscious. The equipment looked to be in perfect condition, and everything appeared to be highly controlled, structured, and well-organized. All in all, an excellent choice if you're looking for a family adventure. I'd recommend Captain Zipline to anyone, even my fellow heights sissies. I know you're out there, brothers and sisters. Low five. Low, low five. I still hate heights, but I would return to Captain Zipline in a heartbeat. PS Don't tell my wife I wrote this review. She still thinks I'm a little traumatized. Gonna run with that for a while. Planning on having a pretend falling dream in a couple days. Wish me luck. PPS If you go, TIP YOUR GUIDES. They totally deserve it. Thanks for a great visit, guys. My wife and I had a wonderful time.

Highly recommend! The views are beautiful, and the guides (Josh and Micky) helped point out vistas on our zip lines. Guides were friendly, safety conscious, entertaining, and thoroughly enjoyable to spend a couple hours with! The booking and check in process was easy and fast, and the price was worth every penny. I would definitely go with this group again!

High ropes adventure course with our instructor Derek!

We were a group of 8 and had an excellent time at the high rope course. Kudos to Derek for being an awesome instructor and keeping us laughing the whole time. Would highly recommend the course for a fun outing with friends.

Aerial Course!!

Had a blast on the aerial course! It was early in the season to where it was just my husband and me. Our guide Derek was very enthusiastic and made the time even better! Both him and the guide in training (Sara I believe) made sure we were safe and didn't hesitate to start a convo if you were waiting for your partner to finish the double black diamond (because I am too much of a weenie to try it lol). Would highly recommend!

Awesome! We had so much fun at captain zipline. We did the aerial course this time. Wish we'd had more time to do more, but his was a great aerial course! 13 courses, we got through five in the time we had, and they were fun. The yellow and green courses are more mentally challenging than physically. Above that, stretch first. We'll definitely be back! Thanks, Captain!!!

The views are amazing from up there!

It was a beautiful ride through Brown's canyon, we will highly recommend Salida River Adventures to anyone considering rafting on the Salida/ BV area!

I love that! There was little need to ask questions about the logistics of what we needed to do where we needed to go. They crushed it! I appreciated the genuine interaction with the staff again, from the time we entered the storefront, getting equipped with , instruction and training, the ride to and from the river, and of course, the on river experience. They knocked it out of the park! I have gone rafting in a number of places with a number of different outfitters. This business being small, fills in all the personalized gaps that you lose in larger companies. Kudos to Salinas adventures!...thanks Angie! I would recommend without hesitation, and if I live closer, I would return... Hands-down!

We booked our trip beginning of 2022-ish when they were running som specials on 2 and 3 day trips…read more I gave the information to my girl scouts and had a couple that wanted to go. I was not initially supposed to be the adult going with. I have a fear of bigger and faster rapids....... However stuff happened and it ended up being me. From the beginning they were easy to work with. I had made a tentative reservation online but we didn't have quite enough people. However our trip was early in the season. I called after a couple of days to see if they thought we would be a go. They opted to run the trip for us since we were early season. They did keep it up for others to potentially join but no others did. Which is unfortunate. Our experience was great! They sent plenty of email communications as it got closer including asking about dietary needs and then reminders. When we arrived we got there an hour early as instructed in the email. They checked us in. Got us a dry bag and our tokens for getting the wet suit. We went and packed our dry bags. And then picked up our wet suits and went to the bathrooms to change. Bathrooms were clean and well kept. The wet suits dont have the arms and neck so you would want to wear a non cotton shirt underneath or be sure to wear a lot of sunscreen (if you are renting a wet suit. We were early season and it was recommended to us) Turbo, the driver came out to chat with us as we were waiting and gave a pep talk. Through our chat he had found out I was nervous. Appreciated the pep talk. Our guides, Kat and Gregg were professional and knowledgable about rafting. Kat shared quite a bit of some of the cool history of the area. Gregg really try to engage my quiet and introverted girls. Being that we were doing a 2 day trip there was food involved. We had 3 of us who have celiacs and then one who is also vegan and one who is also vegetarian. They were able to accomodate our needs with really yummy, delicious and filling food. Gregg and Kat prepared all our meals. Honestly we all felt a little bad we are used to being doers. It was weird to have someone else doing all the work. But they did a great job and the food was yummy and satisfying! They also had some desert available at times and hot drinks. Was so thankful that they did such a good job with the food. Sometimes places can't get it right when you have a gluten free and vegan combo. That was not the case here. They did a great job!! Our camping area was lovely. There was a little bit of hiking available. But they also brought some games that we played for a bit. It was nice and relaxing. The next day going through the canyon was definitely a lot of fun. As with most companies they do take some pics of your ride, if you want pics be sure to stop back by the front desk after your experience. You wont be sorry this is a great company.
