Arrived as a walk in and the team got me signed up, schooled on jetski use, and off onto the water efficiently. Jetski was new with lots of power and cool features. Will return here to rent boats again.

I should have seen from the lighter coloration of the water there even with my non-prescription sunglasses so water splashed. Somehow I thought a sandbar couldn't extend so far, nearby fishermen only up to their knees be damned. The sandbar was way wide and there was just no dragging it to deep enough water with my skinny arms. And gunning the motor is useless if it's not submerged in water. I was a jetski novice, obviously, and don't know jack about it but now at least a little more than what I did. The jetskis here top out around 45 mph though just for an instant I did hit 47. Midafternoon isn't the best choice I learned as the Indian River tends to be choppier than in the morning. This didn't bother me much on the way out as I was going with the current but the waves will be rougher on you against the current. And they seemed even rougher still after my sandbar humiliation. I actually found that the ride is the roughest around 30 mph or so and if you come closer to topping it out up in the 40 mphs you'll get a smoother ride. At least if you're going in the same direction as the waves or that was my experience anyway. I rode about 6 miles from the docks and even got to check out a private little island in the river taking a little dip to cool off since I was pretty wet anyway. You might think that's where I beached my jetski but you'd be wrong. Too easy. I got a gnarly bit of sunburn on my normally pasty skin though I've had worse. I did apply sunscreen but only up to my t-shirt line and then opted to go shirtless as they give you a vest anyway. Mistake number two. My upper arms and shoulders were red as a lobster and peeled for days. I also wasn't liberal enough with the sunscreen on the backs of my hands. I had some peeling there as well. The way out was pretty exhilarating and the way back was a trail of tears so learn from my rookie mistakes if you can. I don't know if I'll do this again but I was glad to cross it off the bucket list.

We have fished with Capt Terry 3 times so far. And we have always caught many and great fish. He…read moreknows where the fish are and he gets us out to them first. My wife got me started for my birthday. Back then it was $600. and I told her we were not spending $600 to catch a couple of fish. Well, We went with my wife, her sister and a friend. Wow, we started catching king fish, cobia, red snapper and finally mahi-mahi. That my friend was our turning point. When we got home, I sold my 26' boat, my poontoon boat and my jeep that pulled them. Since then, it has only charter fishing. Capt. Terry and usually John are the best. We are going out again this coming friday. So, if you want the best...THE BIG EASY is for you. Rick/Fran

Both captain and mate did a great job of putting us on fish as well as making sure we got them to the boat! We did a full day, departed at 5.30am and back to the dock for 2.30pm. During the day, we had a nice mix of bottom fishing as well as trolling. Captain Terry was good about accommodating our request to do a bit more trolling than normal. John, the mate was on point all day long and was friendly and helpful with lots of tips and info. By days end we caught a 25# grouper, 60# AJ, 5 Mahi between 10#-20#, along with some other good eating fish mixed in. All five of us had a great time, and we will certainly be back in the near future. Thanks Big Easy!

Sebastian Inlet State Park - Sunsets Over the Water!

    Sebastian Inlet State Park

One of my favorite parks in Florida! I've been coming here for years and can't believe I've never…read moresubmitted a review?! It's one of Florida's most popular State Parks with camping, fishing, and beach / surfing being the primary draws. There are clean bathrooms and changing areas and multiple picnic tables for everyone's use. The Inlet's swift incoming and outgoing tides can be treacherous and only skilled boaters should attempt navigating through them from the ocean side to the river side (and vice-versa) during those times. The main fishing pier / jetty is on the north side of the inlet where on any given day the protective railings are lined with enthusiastic and faithful fishermen. There's an abundance of fish here and occasionally sharks - which doesn't seem to matter to the surfers who find some of the best wave action here on the east coast of Florida. It cost me $5.00 (motorcycle) to get in and cars are $8.00. The park operating hours are 8am to sundown, however the South Ranger Station is open for after hours access for registered campers, or visitors with an annual visitor's pass and an after hours permit. This is a great state park and I encourage you to visit it if you're in the area. 5/5 Stars!
