We all had varying degrees of fishing experience - from beginners to more experienced fisherman - and all had a great time. Our two guides knew the area extremely well and took care of everything on the trip, which allowed us to focus on reeling in 18 fish total - all of which were trout. They even filleted all the fish for us on the boat before we left, which was very appreciated since I don't know the first thing about handling fish. In full disclosure I do not like eating fish at all, but the experience of being out on Flathead Lake with experienced guides that know the history of the land well was more valuable to me than the fish we caught. So even if you don't like fish, it's a great way to be on the water, to hang out with friends, and to learn a lot about the area. And to have such experienced guides taking care of the essentials made it immeasurably more enjoyable.

Paul's boat was well-equipped with plenty of fishing gear for trolling and jigging. They had plenty of snacks and water/pop for the entire tour. Everyone in our family of five caught some fish. We took home two nice-sized lake trout and filleted them for dinner - they were delicious! We did catch a whitefish, but it was too small to bring home. I texted jason the owner he said he would take care of contacting the quide cody. (Please see text) my wife flew out on the only flight available at 630am( i couldnt get any other flights). I dropped her off and at that time 545 recieved a call from the quide Cody He asked if we were on the way. I told him i communicated with iason and he was supposed to contact him. He stated that he never called him and said it wasn't the first time. I explained why we didnt show up and he completely understood and was sorry for our father. Later that morning I went into the shop and spoke to Jason's son and another guide they said not to worry and we wouldnt get charged. I thanked them and offered cash for Cody's time. They both said no not to worry. and jPlease review the his policy states We understand that unexpected situations can lead to trip cancellations. We reserve the right to evaluate the circumstances and make refund decisions on a case by case basis. If a mutual agreement is made between the shop/guide and client due to weather state or federal closures. or other unforeseen events, the deposit will be refunded(less 7% admin and processing fee) I guess your father having a heart attack isn't unforeseen. The owner feels bad because the quide lives in a trailer. I get it I was going to pay him 250 dollars for his trouble but i was told not to worry about it. My father has past away rest his soul. We rented a pontoon for 2 people and 2 dogs but it was worth it - being able to take dogs was a nice treat and no additional fee for doing so. You can't dock boats except for 2 designated areas but you can shut boat off in water and still take a dip if you want. Instructions great. Experience great. This company competitive in pricing with other rentals in area. Very clear about costs and expectations. We had a great time. Would use this company again.

Views views views!…read more Great change of pace after days of hiking. I rented a 1 seater kayak from glacier outfitters. It may look like a far walk but it isn't! Totally doable. The staff was very nice to explain everything to me. They showed me the lake map and where to go and not go, etc. Instructions were very clear. I rented 2 hours (they have you 15 mins for the round trip walk). The walk from the rental to the lake I thought was a bit of a walk but it was not bad to haul the kayak there, they are on wheels so it is not bad. You leave the wheels near the trees. Returning the kayak was fairly easy as well. There are lockers available that you can put your stuff if you don't want to take it with you. The minimum number of hours is 2 hours and it was 40 something. Overall it was a good experience! Everything was great. Would recommend and use service again.

(highly recommend reservations)…read more There is a small parking lot and some street parking but it was not a busy day and it was full. We had people waiting for our parking spot when we returned to the car. I'm not sure where people would park when it gets very busy. Perhaps there is another parking lot I didn't see. When you walk up to G.O. you sign waivers, pay the fee and are gathered in an area for instructions. The man who provided the instructions was very informative. Advised us of areas in Flathead Lake to avoid including a rough water area and a few bald eagle's nests as they recently laid eggs. After instructions, you are provided with the kayak, paddle, life jacket and a cart to roll the kayak down to the lake. Now, I'm pretty strong but the kayaks are heavy. I did think to myself, how would someone with less strength get this kayak down to the lake? Something to ask about if you are renting as it is several yards to walk with a heavy kayak. The carts were easy to remove and stash while we spent the day in the lake. When you finish kayaking, you simply load the kayak back on the cart and roll it back to G.O., drop off gear and you are done. We had a great experience with Glacier Outfitters and would use them again.
