The workers were cold and barely acknowledged or made eye contact with us. Since we were the only ones there, their side eyes and irritation with us made us feel like huge burdens. I was just going to ride along in a double go kart with a family member and the male staff member watched as i tried to fit in the kart only to tell me that it was for little kids. Since none of the staff told us that the doubles were not made for two teens or anyone much bigger than an 8 year old, I had to exit the track and just watch my family race. The go karts themselves were decent but we felt so uncomfortable that we did one five minute race and then just left the center. Additionally, when my sister crashed, her glasses fell off and she cannot see without them. The same male staff member begrudgingly walked around looking for them and being irritated when she couldn't see where they were. After the race was over and the staff ignored every "thank you" and "have a nice day" we said, we scampered back to our car having wasted $50 dollars on a cold and rude experience. On the positive side, my family really enjoyed the power up buttons on the karts. We got a glowing recommendation from a local and we were so excited to experience this place. I don't know if there was new staff or management but we were all so sad and disappointed on the car ride home.

You can tell a lot of effort went into creating the course, and it was fun for both kids and adults. The 18-hole course took us a while to finish, so we definitely felt like we got a good amount of entertainment and were tired by the end. While I do think the admission price is a little expensive, the overall experience made it worth it. The course was clean and well maintained, and I also noticed that parts of it were handicap accessible, which is a nice feature. Overall, I'd recommend Pirate's Cove if you're looking for a fun activity in the area. The price is my only reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5.

And, the customer service is lacking. Guy who made my sandwich didn't seem happy to be there and kind of annoyed that he had to wait on me. I get so aggravated that the winter specials end, before the busy season even starts! We were the only ones there and basically the only ones anywhere in sight! You would think they would keep the prices down for locals as long as they could, not true for this place, nor many others in the area. Can't understand why businesses don't wait until next week, after Memorial Day, when all the schools get out for summer session and it's more crowded and busy. Guess the owner also thinks they have to charge more to pay for the upgrade in the establishment. They've recently glassed in the porch area and seemed to have made some other changes. I have to say, I was fine with it the old way and cheaper prices for the food.
