The birthday party proceeded perfectly well. All Big E staff did their jobs with care and perfection! They were all attentive to the needs of the host and seemed to really want to make this a memorable event for the birthday boy and his friends. There's eight movie screens, a full sized bowling alley, climbing and jumping activities to help keep the kids energy levels manageable. In better weather outside there's also a rather large and impressive miniature golf area. I can't believe that I've missed out on this fun place to take children to.

Theater 4 was setup as one of their Klipsch Studio Experience and I absolutely love it. Their heated seating and audio technology are awesome additions. I now find myself timing movie choices to when they're in this theater. The lobby was also revamped. The popcorn and slush are now self service making it a lot easier and the general experience overall is just a lot better.

You can reserve exactly where you want to sit and it's yours. You get to watch a movie in a recliner and even all sprawled out, people can still get around you to their seats. How awesome is that?! After spending, over $200 dollars, management said they would accommodate our family of 6 in a separate theater if we could wait until 2:45PM an hour from being told, we did, said they were cleaning the theater then denied the request with no proper refund. The lack of sensitivity and accommodations for special needs is disgraceful. My son and family heartbroken.

I'm currently sitting in the Spartanburg theater. There are 6 broken seats covered with cloth. My seat cushion was flat - I've had to change seats. The theater smells. Every time I come here, i have to find a seat where I have no one on either side, as most of the time I have to change seats. The Regal in Greenville is completely renovated. Better concessions, reclining seats - ready for RPX, ready for 4DX. Regular 2D is the same price as Spartanburg. Most people don't go to Spartanburg anymore - they either head to Greenville, or go to NCG where it's usually quite busy. Even when I see movies with friends we head to Greenville whenever we can. I only come to Spartanburg as a last resort. It will only continue to decline until, my gut tells me, they will ultimately close this theater because no one wants to come here under the current conditions.

We ordered one large popcorn. I first asked for two large popcorns and asked for them to be put in bags so I could carry them because I had four kids. The employee offered to carry them to my seats. He also said he could give me small plastic containers for each of the kids and told me I could order one large popcorn and get free refills. Deal! I bought one large popcorn and for refills to refill the plastic containers. The seats. The seats were excellent. They were new, comfortable, and reclinable. What was even more amazing, because other movie theaters don't do this, I could put a large popcorn bucket on the tray and it didn't block my line of site. And people walking in the isle in front of me didn't block my line of site. And the rail between the rows didn't block the line of site of any of the kids. I can't say that about another name brand movie theater I recently visited. The screen was large and sound was excellent. The volume was a little loud for my 3 year old niece who had to cover her ears a few times because the volume was too loud. The staff are very nice, professional, and helpful. My wife and I came for a 3:30 PM Friday matinee of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. While we purchased our tickets ahead of time through Flixster/Fandango, we still had to wait in the main concession line just to retrieve our physical tickets to enter the auditorium. Because we weren't planning on buying any food or drinks, having to stand in that line was a bit of an inconvenience. That said, once we made it to the register, the concession employee was courteous and pleasant to deal with. The entire facility, from the lobby to the concessions area and the auditorium itself, was clean and maintained. The screen presentation and audio quality were good, with zero issues during the film. As for the seating, the recliners were relatively comfortable, though they felt a bit aged. My main issue was that in the fully upright position, the headrest pitched my head too far forward. While seating comfort is subjective, my wife actually brought up the exact same issue before I even mentioned it, so it's worth noting if you are sensitive to headrest angles. Pricing was $23 total for two standard-screen matinee tickets. Movie prices are fairly outrageous everywhere these days, so I can't fault Ayrsley Grand specifically for that, but it's still worth keeping in mind. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, and we would definitely return though we plan to try out a few other nearby theaters first to see how they stack up.
