We have been going to Capri since they opened. Over the course of time, we've bought quite a lot of wine from them. We pretty much feel that if you are going somewhere to taste wine, you should at least buy 1 bottle from them (if you like it). We usually bought 6 bottles every time we went there because you'd then get a discount. They used to have a lot of free tastings, which were fun. So, we started inviting our friends there for the tastings and food. Since then, they have cut way back on the number of wine tastings they have. (I heard that Michele, the owner, doesn't really like holding these types of tastings.) When you buy wine from them, you get "points". Well, they decided one night that if I was paying for the wine, they would put it under my name instead of under my husband's name. Due to that, I was unable to use the points we had accumulated. Then, they put a time limit on those points and they all expired - surprise, surprise when you go up to pay. They really favor their wine club members. It's become apparent that if you aren't in one of their wine clubs, you are better off not even going there. We went to the tasting last night, inviting several friends to meet us there. We did the Delille wine tasting (YUM). Then, we ordered quite a bit of food and a bottle of Delille to have with our food. Later, another friend showed up to join us. So, we ordered another bottle of Delille to enjoy with him. Well, we purchased these bottles for $42 each FROM CAPRI. In addition, i think we spent $50-$60 for some panninis, hummus, and cheese/olives. We received the bill (which was not broken out) and thought - WOW, that seem too high. We asked for a breakout and discovered *** THEY CHARGE A $20 CORKAGE FEE PER BOTTLE FOR BOTTLES WE BOUGHT FROM THEM (because we aren't wine club members)!! *** Nowhere does it state a corkage fee on their menus. And we were never told about this fee in advance. I also feel that is a really high corkage fee! I think it's very underhanded of them to do this without notice and to give you your receipt with no breakout of the charges. I have to wonder if this is intentional. I've had to question them in the past about charges because they didn't make sense and you have no idea how they came up with the total. In short, DO NOT BUY A BOTTLE OF WINE THERE THAT YOU PLAN TO DRINK ON SITE (unless, of course, you are a wine club member). I have to add, though, that the woman that waited on us was WONDERFUL. Over the years, we've found that Michele hires staff members that are very friendly and make you feel welcome for visiting. Our waitress was very gracious and apologetic for the charges and agreed to reimburse us the $40. Unfortunately, we still have a VERY sour taste about it all and will likely never return. I think Michele needs to rethink her business model and how to treat paying customers. read more

Capri Cellars is a fun wine shop, where you can do more than buy a bottle. Capri Cellars has a seasonal tasting menu, various wines for purchase by glass, and wine/cheese pairings for two or four (watch for the online deals). They happily accommodate gluten free diets with many items on the food menu. They also have a wine club where you will receive wine releases from a variety of wine makers on a monthly basis. Capri always has something going on, from wine maker dinners to high end wine tastings. The only thing I'm not clear on is their menu pricing. For example, they have happy hour, but I've never received the happy hour price for wine pours...Come to think of it, I've not seen anything eligible or advertised outside of the notice it exists in their email blast. Also, the last time I purchased a bottle (or three) I was told there is some kind of points system, but I have no idea how many points I have or how to use them. We became members when we realized it was a perfect place to go grab a glass and small bite. We look so forward to picking up our wine every month -and find ourselves saying "is it the 15th yet?" Staff is ALWAYS friendly and welcoming. Wine prices can't compete with big box, but we are happy to pay a couple extra bucks given the experience there and our desire to support private businesses in Issaquah. read more

A wonderful find on Front Street in Issaquah! The wine selection was amazing featuring Washington's finest wines and the staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful in pairing a food with my flight. A great stop and enjoyable experience after the Village Theatre. read more

The staff are super nice and make you feel comfortable and welcome. The interior is beautiful and has a lot of spaces to relax with friends. In the summer they have outside seating. The wine club is a great deal and has fun events. We have loved all the wine that has been chosen for the club. The food is also very good and great quality! read more

I'm possibly the worst patron ever for not updating this sooner! After writing my review, the owner Michele reached out to me in an attempt to make-up for their previous service. I was treated to a complimentary flight for myself and 3 of my friends along with some snack trays. Now that I'm officially off my wedding diet, I can't wait to go back and try some new wines! read more

What a great surprise in downtown Issaquah! On my first visit I was surprised at the atmosphere - cozy, comfortable, stylish. It was the type of place where I could enjoy comfortable seating, friendly service and good food. Their food offerings are limited but what they have is tasty. The wine flight I had was great! I felt like the prices were very reasonable and it was nice to try a wine and then be able to buy it when leaving. I just wish they stayed open later and then I'd try to give them 6 stars! Overall, it's a nice place to go to visit with friends and a delightful change from the usual offerings. read more

Capri Cellars is the best place to go for a glass of wine in Issaquah! The atmosphere is laid back and upscale. Awesome wines and great cheeses. Lots of happy hour selections and if you're in their wine club you get a great discount on everything you buy! I love visiting with my friends here and will continue to go here for years to come. Let's start with ambiance and first impressions. The location was a bit off for a wine tasting and eatery but ok, the space was minimalistic and really highlighted, wine. The small bites and cheese plates all catch your eye on a menu and are great! The choices in cheese compliment all of the wine flights. The staff are definitely knowledgeable though they seem to be busy, even when there are only 5 people in the space on a weekday and it takes a strangely long time for any attention. It's neighborhood friendly and has potential as the Issaquah area lacks charming eateries and wine bars but for the price point ($65+ for a cheese platter and two flights) I'm not that impressed. read more

I took my wife and 8 other friends to Capri Cellars for my wife's 40th birthday party. There was a drop in bachelorette party there at the same time, so the place was packed. Being a former restaurant server, I was expecting the staff to "get in the weeds" with the amount of people, but they managed great. They had great choices for their wine flights, both local and international. They also had a few good local micro brews for some of the guys that were not into wine as much as some of the other guests. The food choices were good as well. None of my party guests had been there previously and all of them had a great time and loved the place. The best evening we has spent out in 2014. read more

We were overcharged with our wine tasting experience. A groupon was used two additional items were purchased which should have been a total of $16.00 extra. When the bill arrived the total was 42.00. The server was not explicit in her explanation of the bill etc. I would not return to Capri Cellars.Many other wineries and tasting rooms available with honest sales and customer service! read more
