Chicago deep dish w/ sausage and olives - sauce on one side, but still good
    Shane B.

If you haven't had a Chicago Deep Dish pizza before, you are not a true pizza fan! Stuffed pizza with all of your favorite sides, inside out with the cheese in the middle and sauce on top. The best ones you eat with a fork and knife, and the crust is thick and flaky enough to pick up like a breadstick on its own! The only lack would be the presentation but it makes up in quality and portion. Cappy's does well, being outside of Chicago. Fresh ingredients, perfect size and worth a try!

For Friday afternoon, we were feeling and instead of a full food we were looking for a place to have quick food. So, I searched near me and saw Cappy's Pizza which was near our place. So, I checked out the menu of Cappy's Pizza. From the menu I decided to order Vegetarian Pizza with mushrooms through a call. The pizza was ready in 15 minutes and I went to Cappy's Pizza to pick-up my order. When I entered the restaurant, I was surprised to see amazing ambiance of the restaurant and it was beautifully decorated giving the look for a place to have pizza and beer. I also saw that they offer different drinks along with different beers. From beer I selected Funky Buddha Florida Wheat Beer. I picked-up my order along with the beer. The veggie pizza was hot and delicious and the crust was also amazing. Pizza with beer made my Friday evening.

Chicago deep dish pizza- with spinach, mushrooms and meatballs. Highly recommend

Best place for deep dish pizza in the Tampa Bay Area. The sauce is wonderful, the crust is great, loaded with cheese and toppings. I'm a huge deep dish fan and this is the place to get it.

SLOPPY MESS OF A PIZZA!!! Worst deep dish pizza I have ever picked up!! When we opened the box the sauce was so watery that it sloshed to one side of the pizza and we brought it back on a even car seat and a table before we opened it up so it came out of the restaurant like that! The watery sauce soaked the breading so it was literally folding over instead of being hard and crunchy like a deep dish should be!! We had to use the fork in the picture to make the sauce even all over. It was absolutely horrible and it tasted poorly made like they tried to make the sauce as quickly and cheaply as possible. Do yourself a favor and don't come here ever again!!! I have NEVER had such horrible pizza! UPDATE: Called management to get a refund and hopefully come to an understanding because they took our money and gave us a horrible product that we had to throw away due to how inedible it is. Not only were they extremely defensive and rude, they also blocked my original number so that I couldn't contact them. They refused to give me a refund stating that I "blasted them" on social media and that they know their pizza and this was never an issue before. The many 1 star reviews would prove otherwise. So not only do they have horrendus pizza, their management is completely unqualified to be in their position. I have never had such HORRIBLE customer service as well as horrible deep dish pizza. If you want them to steal your money and disregard your complaints while serving you pizza that they threw together as quickly as possible this is the place for you.

I came in knowing the pizza is everything-now I know the Greek salad is, too!

I was headed south from Wesley Chapel. I could've been at my home Cappy's in 20 minutes. But then I remembered from Yelp-there was another Cappy's on the way. I could be there in seven. My stomach did the math-and I rolled into the New Tampa location. Happy at Cappy's! Tucked into a popular plaza off Bruce B Downs Blvd in the Tampa Palms area, there's tons of parking and a small dining area out front, under the Cappy's oval sign, that calls me home again and again. At first glance, this location is quaintly small. But behind the three rows of tall wooden booths, are two large, tile-topped tables and a small bar counter... and the takeout counter is behind all of that. You don't feel cramped at all-just cozy, comfy and charmed-by all the retro memorabilia on the walls. But you didn't come here to read about the legroom and decor. Let's talk food. Cappy's has two styles of pizza: New York (thin crust) and Chicago (deep dish). I'm a thin crust girl-and always order the NY pepperoni with light sauce. This if the fourth Cappy's I've been to and they always get the sauce ratio spot-on. The pizza is consistently delicious. I've had the cheese bread before and it's total yum, too. But this night, I tried the Greek salad. Ohhhh, there you are Nirvana! It is divine! I ordered the small-which would easily feed three. I took one bite and then almost stuck my head in the bowl. The Greek dressing is tangy and sweet at the same time... light... it dresses up the salad, not drowns it. I don't even like dressing-but I love this! I will never neglect to order their Greek salad again! In a town/area that boasts a lot of really good Greek salads-this is top 10 stuff. So is Savannah, my server. She's full on sunshine and so efficient, friendly and attentive. All this... and there's beer and wine, too. I'll see you there!

We ordered 2 pies -- one meatball and one cheese. Cappy's never disappoints! It was actually my son's second dinner there of the night if that says anything. We always get the New York style. The sauce is tasty covered in just the right amount of cheese.

Pro-tip: additional parking is located just down the street (look for the blue building with signage). I got to enjoy brunch on the outdoor patio (covered, breezy, and dog-friendly) recently and was blown away. We started with coffee and the aforementioned pastries (get them early because they all sell out!). The spanakopita was the perfect, flakey, savory intro and then paired perfectly with the sweet baklava coffee cake and croissant cinnamon roll. All three were exceptional and next time I'll go next door to their market and buy some to take home. From there we dug into breakfast dishes. I shared the Strapatsada (vegetarian, but you can add meat options), which is a Greek scramble with caramelized onion, roasted cherry tomato, creamy feta, grilled baguette; along with the Med Morning Yogurt Bowl (v, gf) featuring fresh berries, house granola, mint, greek thyme honey. The granola was clearly house-made and I would also opt to purchase it at the market if they sell it! Both dishes were satisfying and hit the savory/sweet combo I was searching for. Finally, the service was fabulous and friendly and they even brought a water bowl for my pup. Great spot and my #1 go-to when in Tampa now!

Fries were a good cut. Sauces were house made, what was it you ask - no idea. But don't care, they were great. Food was great. Just felt like I didn't fit in. Or maybe I just was not prepped/dressed to feel like I was in Mykonos on a cruise and that was the excursion for the day. Idk, good stuff overall.

The only miss for me was the raw white part of the green onions in the salad, they were a bit too chunky for my taste. The chicken, though? Perfectly grilled...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It came with a tzatziki sauce that was more on the liquidy side, which isn't my favorite texture, so I just used it as a dip for the chicken and hummus. Heads-up: the menu on their official site isn't updated, but if you Google "Tasty Mediterranean," it shows accurate prices and lets you order online. I was also shocked I had never heard of it. I went yesterday for the first time to have it in person and was blown away at the quality of food in terms of how fresh EVERYTHING was and how efficient the service was. The staff was so so wonderful. Cassie, Clayton, & Joy were all such a pleasure to meet and speak to. I'll be happy to go support them in their new location opening in Largo. Getting into the food - here's what we ordered and thoughts on each: - Trio of Spreads: Pesto Hummus, Roasted Garlic Feta, Tzatziki w/ grilled & fried pita chips. Each dip was INSANE and you could tell by the taste they were not only homemade but made to order. My favorite was the whipped feta but i could genuinely eat each of them everyday. They asked if we wanted the pita grilled or fried and when I asked which was better they gave us both! And I'm so glad they did because I really enjoyed both and had never had fried pita before (delicious of course). I will be getting this every time. I do remember the dips going crazy when we had gotten it catered and they hit just as hard this time around. - Chopped Greek Salad w/ potato salad. I had this infamous dish when we had it catered and I was literally addicted to the potato salad. I remember I had a plate of everything else then went back for a full plate of the potato salad. I definitely recommend getting this salad chopped over the traditional way as it is much easier to eat. So unique they add the pasta salad to it!! - Chicken Souvlaki Pita. I always get gyro pitas so was trying to switch it up here and I was so glad to finally try Chicken Souvlaki (I've had Greek sooo many times but never tried it) and it was SO yum. Definitely a good change of pace for me. - Gyro Pita Platter. Still needed to try out their gyro so got the platter which is basically a deconstructed pita. I love that you're able to add as much or little of each of the ingredients - it reminds me of taco nights! The gyro was fire of course. - Greek Feta Fries. These were seasoned to PERFECTION. I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them. You gotta order these at every Greek place and constantly compare. These were a wedge vibe and the perfect amount of potato in my opinion (I'm Irish so I prefer a thick steak fry to a skinny mcdonald's fry). The flavor went crazy. EXTRA SAUCES - DONT SLEEP ON THE SPICY TZATZIKI

The five items I got, ranked from best to least best: 2 falafels-really good, hummus-very good, cucumber salad-good, cous cous-fine, beet salad-meh. Make sure you ask for the hot sauce - it jazzed everything up. The platter was served with a couple of pieces of pita, but there really needed to be more to dip into all the salads. The only available drinks were to purchase bottled water or bottled soda. I only ate about a third, but I will say it did not travel well. Because three of the salads were placed in the same section, by the next day all three salads were a combined soggy mess, and the only part that was still edible was the hummus.
