Highly recommended by our local tour guide as the place to go in Palermo for the best Brioche gelato around. Opened in 1987, a small shop with a few tables outside. Most people take and enjoy as they keep moving.
Talked with the two young guys working there about why it's so popular. They only use seasonal raw materials and milk from organic farms. They won the prestigious "three cones" award from Gambero Rosso in 2000. Apparently this is a big deal, posters and signs everywhere highlighting this.
I went with their popular brioche bun with coffee gelato. This thing was a monster, glad I'm splitting it! This is considered a gourmet ice cream sandwich. It was amazing, definitely a different taste with a bun and ice cream... but delicious. No wonder this place is recognized as one of the best gelato shops in Palermo if not all of Italy. read more
