The mercantile mart thingy has it's private parking lot of it's own. There is also the nearby beach parking but be warned in summer both of those options-along with any street parking will fill up quickly. As in 10 am is too late quickly. Luckily there are some more extensive lots not too far away-that one over behind the police station never seems to be full and since this is the esplanade it's a very nice two block ish walk. This is a smaller store yet carefully curated. This isn't a thrift store as such but a higher end resale shop. There may or may not be super trendy brands but there will be great looking fashion. Strong selection of accessories of course and on my visit a better the average selection of boots. The stock rotates all the time so of course what you see on your visit may be completely different. Even so you still might consider a browse as you never know what might be in that day. Pricing is fair. It's totally possible to put together a very sophisticated outfit for less then a hundred dollars, and of course getting those few small things to complete your look can be done for much less, All in an very valuable source for the fashion conscious.

I went in by myself with just a couple questions on how best to get her started. The gentleman behind the counter immediately seemed defensive and automatically assumed I wanted to sign up for lessons, and said,"This is a pro shop, we don't do anything like lessons here". I explained to him that I was not after lessons, just some tips for a beginner to the sport. The entire time I was in the shop, I had to probe extremely hard to get any kind of answers out of him, who was very short and crass with me the entire time. Apparently, this pro shop is not the place for people with questions even regarding the sport. Just go in, buy your gear and leave is what they want. 1star for good selection, but I would give zero to how rude he was, even to a local.

Doesn't sound like much unless you're buying 5 bags of 4 different sizes after a big trip of losing gear to the trees at Lake Del Valle.
