Best Caramel Apple to date. The gentleman sliced it up for us to share too. Cute little shop nestled in the capitola beach community. Very clean and friendly.

Such a sweet spot! The truffles here are absolutely divine--rich, smooth, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The candy selection is huge, with something for every craving, from nostalgic classics to unique treats you don't see every day. Everything is fresh, beautifully displayed, and the staff is super friendly.

Adorable local candy store with great selection. I got a caramel apple there that was one of the best caramel apples I've ever eaten in my life. I would have taken a picture, but I was too busy attacking it! I need to come back here. I could eat a candy apple from here every day!

Many selections of candies. The price goes off by weight fyi. It can add up pretty quick but you can get as much or as little of any mixture of candy you want. Super nice people work there. I love going in getting some candy sometimes and just taking a peaceful stroll around the adorable beach town.

Was strolling through the village and happened upon this candy shop. The capitola candy cafe has a solid selection of candy and just stepping inside made me feel like a kid again. I was impressed by the sheer number of sour ribbon flavors they had (those are my favorite!). I even got to try a few flavors I've never seen before. Customer service was also top notch, the owner was very friendly and fun to chat with. Anytime I'm in need of a candy fix this will be my go to spot.

Absolutely loved this place! I was walking towards the beach and I kept seeing people with Boba drinks in their hand. I had to ask where they got it from. They said, "the candy shop with the octopus" I searched and found it. They were so nice!! The price is great for boba. And chocolate! I got a 16oz green tea, with Boba, and peach syrup 25% sweet (super good) And rocky road chocolate. It was delicious. Great people! Thanks guys!

Still our favorite candy store in town. Beautifully remodeled. Excellent selection with really reasonable price. On top of all, awesome and friend owner! Omg. Cadbury crunchie!!!!! Have you guys try this? If you love chocolate w toffee or crunchy texture, you should try this. We had it from gourmet European grocery before and I'm surprised to see it at Capitola Candy Store. (Hint: great selection). We also had the chocolate toffee caramel apple. Not overalls sweet, super smooth chocolate with crunchy toffee. This might be my go to item every time I stop by.

Great selection. Staff was excellent in working with two girls to optimize their allocated candy weight.

This recent visit was disappointing enough that I feel it needs to be shared. Customer service was noticeably lacking. When we got to the front of the line and realized we forgot something, the woman at the register rolled her eyes and let out an audible sigh, even though no one else was in line. It felt unnecessarily rude. Throughout the store, employees were unhelpful and unapproachable. We tried to ask a question to a young tall man who clearly worked there, but he completely ignored us and just kept walking. Later, we asked a Hispanic man working in the back for help, and instead of answering, he gave us an annoyed look and walked away. It was uncomfortable and made us feel like we were a bother just for asking. To top it off, one of the two avocados we bought was completely rotten inside. The store itself didn't feel clean. Shelves had layers of dust, and we wandered around without a single person offering to help. Prices were shockingly high, especially considering the poor experience. Nob Hill is just down the road and offers better service, better prices, and a cleaner environment. I usually don't leave reviews unless something is exceptionally good or clearly disappointing. Unfortunately, this was the latter. I hope they get their act together, because this used to be a decent spot. But right now, I can't recommend it to anyone.

I got a Swiss cheese that I had not heard of but tasted good so got some. Inside is small, they have a fridge with smaller portions for charcuterie which is nice. I do feel like because this is such a specialized cheese shop with a lot of cheese people have never heard of, it might be good to have them organized by origin and then give a three word flavor profile or something since not everyone knows everything about cheese but definitely likes cheese. Also, there didn't seem to be a lot of common cheeses that would bring in a lot more traffic and let people discover the really good cheeses here. I would definitely come here for more than just the occasional pricey cheese board cheese if they consistently had high quality imported ricotta for baking, pecorino romano DOP, Parmesano Romano DOP, mozzarella, and other Italian cheeses that are difficult to find in the quality necessary to make the dishes authentically. Would help save trips to a place like Eataly for those items.
