I chose to use Capitol Roofing (CR) because I wanted a local company who had good reviews to perform my roof, guttering, and awning repairs that was damaged by hail. My initial experience was great with them. First estimate was on Oct 26, 2016. However, it took until Feb to get CR and my insurance company aligned on what needed to be done, type of shingles, etc. CR could not match the guttering color so I was required to pick a new color and had to put a down payment of $10,000. Once that was settled an install date of July 24 was given by CR. I took the day off work so we could discuss my expectation and clean up. I have two young daughters and a puppy so I wanted to make sure the backyard was kept free of nails and shingles at the end of each day so that it would not be a danger to my kids. On July 24, no one had showed up by 10am so I called the office to see when to expect them. They stated they were behind on schedule due to the snow storms in late May and were about 6 weeks out from starting on my house. They rescheduled the install date to the first week of September. Again, I took the day off work for the same reasons above and 10am came and no one was at my house. So I called the company again and was told 32 houses were ahead of me and they could not guarantee me a start time. I requested my $10,000 deposit back and politely asked that the company and I go our separate ways. However, I was told that the contract stated that a fee would be assessed for any canceled contracts which it did. But since Capitol Roofing was not fulfilling their install portion of the contract on dates THEY scheduled, I asked to see proof of expenses to justify the $1500 they wanted for the canceled contract. They admitted that shingles had not even been purchased yet for my property but stated the $1500 would cover the initial estimate expenses that they originally and publically advertised as FREE. Like most people I can't take a $1500 penalty and agreed to stay with the company. The second week of September my shingles arrived without notice and stayed on the roof until a group of subcontractors showed up on September 30 also without notice. One of the reasons I went with CR is because they are a member of the Cheyenne Roofing Alliance which I assumed based on their commercials was to bring local contractors together to keep roofing projects local and support the Cheyenne economy/jobs. However, the subcontracted company CR chose was out of Scottsbluff, NE....hardly local. Roofing was complete with satisfactory results, however trash, old shingles, and roofing nails were left in my bushes, front and back yard, and driveway. On October 8, the guttering company CR subcontracted showed up once again with no notice. Immediately they recognized CR work order did not include down spouts. This meant if the work would continue as expected I would have dark brown guttering and light blue downspouts. The subcontractors told me someone from CR was coming out to talk to me about it, but was then told 15 minutes later they had worked it out. Next business day received a voicemail that downspouts would be added as an additional expense to my contract. Yes, that's without an initial estimate, without me signing or agreeing to any amount. On October 10, I called to remedy the situation was put on hold until it automatically transferred to Liz's voice machine. Received no call back, but when I called back 30 minutes later Cody said CR made a mistake and would eat the costs of the downspouts. Finally in December, the awning subcontractor showed up to repair the awning. They were a great group of guys and promptly removed the awning, but immediately recognized that the new awning was not the right size, did not have the right fasteners, and was incredibly flimsy. After about 3 weeks of ordering various parts for the awning the got it installed. read more

My family and I have used them more than once for different properties and buildings. I moved an hour north of Cheyenne and a hail storm came through August 20th, 2019. The next day I called and asked if they service Wheatland so I could have an estimate done for my roof and I was told yes. As of today, October 18, 2019, no one has shown up. I called few times and the last time I called, I was told my request would be turned over to the owner. Very disappointing and they should have told me that no one would be showing up. I don't know why they have become so unprofessional. Now I have a reliable roofing company. read more

Awful. Rude to customers. They charged us for parts they didn't even install...our insurance company called them out on this after our skylight started to leak. When they had to actually complete the job (an entire year later), the guy was combative on the phone and never communicated about when it would be completed. Go with another company. read more

BEWARE!!! this is by far the worst roofing company in Cheyenne. Hung up on twice when I asked Steve for an itemized receipt. I was told by Steve to pay the damn bill and then he hung up. I called back several times and finally the owner Dennis picked up. I told him what I was requesting and that I didn't appreciate the way his employees treated me. He basically called me a liar and stated they said i hung up on them haha OK!! if i hung up on them why would I continue to call back hmm.... Anyways think twice about contacting Capitol Roofing they will lie to make a buck, I wish I could give them zero stars. read more

This Company is very unorganized, unresponsive and does a terrible job! They replaced our roof and had to come back after it was inspected because there were many issues. I would not use them for any roofing or any other home repair needs. They use subs and they don't oversee the workmanship. The sub took the siding off or our house and left it uncovered during a terrible snow storm. They had to come back and seal because there was mold. They have replaced their management team and the new person in charge was an employee that only dealt with one piece of the business. He is rude and unresponsive. Buyer Beware. In my experience, Capitol Roofing is not about customer service, quality work or honoring their word. Capitol Roofing took over a year to finish the job and called me to the site 6 times for final inspection when the work was not completed. Their own employee got on the roof with me and stated, "This should have never passed inspection" and " This is not up to our standard". (He was the honest guy and he was removed from the job) No problem, I understand that everyone can make a few mistakes and get it wrong from time to time. It seemed like Capitol roofing was going to make it right and even offered a 10% discount on the job for the hassles and delays, which seemed like a nice gesture and I accepted, but then when they sent the final bill they refused to honor the 10% discount and threatened a lien on the property if not paid in 10 days. To be fair, this may not be their usual work quality because they got busy after the hail storm so they subbed out a lot of the work to substandard subcontractors. There were many unsealed roof penetrations, mismatched drip edge, improper chimney flashing, poorly installed (and reused) gutters, destroyed landscaping, paint on the screens, and the list goes on. My problem with this company is not that they did a bad job, because they admitted it was poor work and tried to fix it. It's that when I requested the token 10% break on the final bill which they had already offered and they refused to honor their word and threatened legal action that really turned me off from Capitol Roofing. So, be careful, from my experience Capitol Roofing is not what they seem to be. read more
