You can sell them ferrous scrap which sticks to a magnet such as appliances, cars, cast iron, steel, and sheet metal and non ferrous scrap such as aluminum, brass, and copper. They also purchase electronic scrap like cell phones, hard drives, and laptops. There is a list of prohibited items on their website that include obvious items like liquids, explosives, hazardous waste, batteries, lead, and mercury. I saw a bunch of the guys who pick up peoples garbage on bulk day come through with their trucks filled with metal. When you enter they weigh your vehicle and print you off a piece of paper with the weight. A lot of other centers take your license at this point but they don't do that here. Next you unload your metal on the ground where they say and then you get your vehicle weighed again on the way out. You then take your paper to the cashier and get paid. The cashier window was strange. You can't see in so you don't know if someone is there or not. You put your license and paper in the slot and eventually they take them. I guess someone got tired of waiting because they scrawled ass on the window. If you get change they give that to you with the receipt and your license back. You take the receipt to the ATM next to the window, hold it up to the machine, and it spits out your money. I was helping to clean up some property my family is getting ready for sale. We got an area cleaned out and scored $54. Win win!

SA has 130 locations in 16 states. I have previously been to their Davie location and this is their Pompano Beach recycling center. To sell your steel metal, go up the driveway and have your vehicle weighed. They give you a slip of paper with the weight that you have to be careful not to lose. Pull to the back and unload it where they tell you, Go back and have your vehicle weighed again. They give you another slip with the weight of your materials. Go up to the cashier and turn your slip into cash at their ATM machine. The line was long today in the hot sun and it didn't help that someone took forever to argue with them. You must have ID and give your thumb print to sell to them to prevent people from stealing and selling to them. An hour later I was covered in mud but I had cash in pocket and cleaned up the no longer needed steel from a building that is getting ready for sale. They used to pay a little more but times are tough. Still they seem to pay the most money for metal in the area.

I won't be bringing anymore trucks, metal or equipment from my storage yard. They will never get any business from us or anyone in the business for scrap that I personally know.
