I reached out to 502 Construction via Yelp, and Ted, the owner, responded directly to me and came out to look at our issue firsthand before giving us a quote. It meant so much to be able to talk to him about this from the start. The stone facade on a back wall in our garden had fallen off, due to water getting behind the stone and freezing. We also wanted to add a brick topper to that wall, to match the wall on the other side of our back yard, and we wanted a metal railing added to the length to prevent anyone from falling off the side of the wall, which abuts our parking pad. Ted's bid was fair, and when he started the work, he was at our house everyday (excluding a couple of days due to bad weather) until it was complete. He was communicative and receptive throughout. And his work more than met our expectations. He had to individually measure and cut maybe 100 bricks so that the topper would work with the incline of the wall. He went a couple of places to find brick that would match brick we already had at our house, and he cut and welded the railing on site. We still need to paint the railing, but it is night and day better compared to what it was. (I will be sure to add before-and-after photos once it is 100% complete.) Ted is going on our list of contractors to have handy and to recommend to all who will listen.

Save your time and money and DO NOT trust Eric for any concrete work. I hired Eric to build a small driveway extension to park a vehicle. He quoted us for 3500psi concrete, and since I am not a concrete professional, I trusted his expertise and integrity. This was a mistake. Only a few months after completion, the driveway completely began to crumble. Eric claimed he was given a "bad mix" from his supplier and offered to resurface it. We knew a resurfacing band-aid fix wouldn't last, but he completely refused to tear out the failing concrete and redo it properly. In an effort to get something done, we finally agreed to the resurfacing, hoping he would make the correct repair when it inevitably failed again. Eric never even showed up to do the resurfacing. He claims to have a two year warranty but WILL not respect it when something actually goes wrong. I decided to call the concrete company he claimed gave him the "bad mix." It turns out Eric intentionally purchased a lower-quality concrete mix and charged us for the higher-quality 3500psi mix.They agreed resurfacing would not work given the low quality of concrete that is not meant to park vehicles on. Eric is completely dishonest and charged us thousands of dollars for a defective product. Save your time, money, and sanity and DO NOT hire Eric for any concrete work.

Cheap, but Poor quality work and poor longevity…read more They made several mistakes and took several shortcuts when doing my job initially. I caught much of it, like the 1/2 circle area being uneven and not a 1/2 circle, and not removing the existing patio enough in some areas that it would have poked through the top of the new one. Unfortunately, some issues made it past me including; -There is a low spot at the end of the steps which means when there is cold weather the first thing i get is a patch of ice at the foot of the steps. Pretty dangerous. -The "straight" sides are not all straight. This created unnecessary problems when having a deck built next to the patio. -The vertical part of the steps are not even. And now the concrete started spalling within about 3 years. Their answer to this? "Powerwash and apply a penetrating waterproofing sealer and it shouldn't get worse". I paid for their 'advanced sealant' when this was put in by the way. Unhappy customer here. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because it could have been worse as its not crumbling, just spalling.
