While walking down P street in the city I noticed their ATM and I though hmmm I've never heard o such a bank. I had already known that so needed to open a new account and the sight of this ATM put my thoughts into action. A couple of days later, I came back to the same location of where the ATM however I soon discovered that there is no branch there. So I looked the place up online and found out yet again, there's really no branches anywhere, except for one! I thought to myself- This is perfect! I called first before I came to ye branch in Tyson's Corner. Get this- the person who I spoke with is the same person who is helping me setup the account some three hours later. Over never experienced that kind of service at any bank in my entire life. I have a good feeling that things will go well with my new account!

When applying for the loan with Misty at our local Navy Fed, she input all our information, did a "soft pull" of our credit scores and quoted a probable 8.5% APR for the loan. We are 6 years from paying off our home, we own our 2 cars (no debt there), we are both retired Marines with retirement income in addition to my husband's surgical technician job income, and my credit card is at $0. Heather Burrow wa assigned to me as an email contact during the application process. When the loan application went through, she sent an email saying Navy Fed approved our equity loan at 14.5%....what?! I get a better rate through my credit card @12% through USAA. I emailed Heather Burrow to decline the loan, and I didn't hear from her for 6 days. And everyday I didn't her from her I was getting automated emails reminding me I had a task to complete in order to get the equity loan. I actually had to call last night the number at the bottom of her email. The person I talked to (I wish I remembered her name) was so very helpful...she withdrew my application and stopped the auto generated reminders. Oh, and after not hearing from Heather Burrow for 6 days (my contact for my equity loan application) sends me an email today and says she will send in my withdraw of my a loan application but it could take a couple before I stop receiving emails. She was not there to answer questions or even withdraw the application, but at least the person I called yesterday could do what she couldn't. Very disappointed in Navy Federal on the loan rate and the absent contact person for the loan application process. It's like she works from home and only works when she feels like it, 6 days and no response?! Overall, a great banking institution but you're not going to get a good loan rate or active response unless you talk to someone in person. My USAA has a better credit card rate by 2.5% than their home equity loan...make that make sense

Then when I got frustrated and upset because they can't provide a reason why it continues to happen, they get mad at me. They flagged the account and I haven't spoken to a rep in over 3 months. If you complain, they flag your account because they can't provide a valid reason for having an unreliable system. But they expect you to be a loyal customer and continue doing business with them. After this review, my account will be flagged for another 6 months because of the negative review. But it will be worth it.

Of course they can never help. They should use those employees to work the teller line and customer service. If you can, go to Wells Fargo. I had paid off a lot of previous debt so I demonstrated the ability to pay previous obligations. I literally should have been their ideal client. But they denied my $1 million+ revenue business any line of credit (LOC), even a modest $50K. I went to another bank and got a $100K line of credit that was limited only because they were freaked out by Chain Bridge Bank's refusal to lend. A year later, I got a $250K line of credit with my new bank. Chain Bridge Bank appears to cater only to political campaigns. I fail to understand this since that's a very very risk undertaking. But they don't seem to care about almost sure-thing local businesses that are growing rapidly. And now we are 3 times the size only a few years later due to no help from them since they refused to extend a LOC.
