It was my birthday and my group of friends wanted to give Capital Cabaret a try. In comparison to Pure Gold and The Men's Club, I highly rate Capital Cabaret as the best in town! Great service from the moment we walked in as the Valet staff opened the doors for us. The receptionist was cheerful and greeted us all with a welcoming smile. There is a selfie station near the entrance with Capital Cabaret logo backdrop. Me and my friends took so many pictures with the help of staff member name Sam. She was very patient and attentive to us girls wanting that perfect picture and made sure we had the snap shots we all loved. I love Sam for being so honest if our pictures did not look right, and she would take more pictures for us without hesitation. Capital Cabaret's establishment is super clean, sophisticated, and classy. The atmosphere and ambience was great and not to mention the music selection was on point! My favorite part was the pyrotechnics that lighted up as the dancers were performing their specular moves. One of the managers overheard that we were there celebrating my birthday and he sent a complimentary bottle of Champagne! Saturday night, the bottom floor 3/4 full of dancers and customers, but the place was so dull/lifeless that it felt like my soul was draining out of me. Only one stage in the front/center of the and every dancer did a lackluster/uninspired performance. they had an upstairs but was so uninterested that I didn't bother to inquire. The second star for this review comes from the fact that they DID have quite a number of women working (quite a few lookers too) and they DID go on stage and get strip. That's about it for the good things. You could try your luck, and hope my visit was just an off night, but considering this was a Saturday I wouldn't recommend. So, i've been there 3 times now. The 2nd time the bartender wasn't as great but had a an ok time. chilled, watched and tipped girls. Got a lapdance all good. 3rd time, bartender not great again and it was not as fun as the other times. I like to watch the girls dance, and enjoy when they come out in hourly or so review on stage as i get to take a good look and decide who i will ask for a dance BUT then i noticed the 2 girls i had my eyes on don't even dance! It appears they are there with some guy who takes care of them, and they just have people pay them via cashapp and they go upstairs. not sure what's going on there, not knocking them for it either BUT, it was disappointing that they didnt perform and engage. i'm thinking of trying another club in the area, but would be great if CC improved bartenders and had all girls perform. read more

Ok, I can't claim to be a newbie when it comes to gentlemen's clubs. As a adult male who's lived in urban areas and been on plenty of business trips, it's not unusual to do some male-bonding at a place like Capital Cabaret. That being said, Capital Cabaret is one of the cleaner and nicest places I've been to! Why's that? Outside the place is discreet and well-lit. Inside it's got a pretty small stage area but I'm pretty sure there's a lot more in the way of private rooms in back. Furniture and lighting is all sort of upscale but still men's clubbish. Dancers were all super nice, low-pressure and polite but hey, we're in North Carolina, so I'm not surprised. Staff was all well-dressed in tuxedos and the waitresses were personable and friendly. As for the drinks, yeah they're a bit pricey but not that much for a men's club. And with the free admission coupon (also free before 8pm), it's not a bad deal at all! So I have to say Capital Cabaret is a great, low-pressure club for newbies and couples. A very well-run and relatively innocuous spot for a drink and some entertainment. Didn't have a good time at ALL. the receptionist at the front doesn't know how to properly speak and explain. She said it's $30, okay cool thinking it's $30 for me / my husband. NOPE $30 each. Wtf? Capital Cabaret needs to put an end to their current marketing scheme, as the window placards they are placing in the front windows of cars in downtown Raleigh are sticking to the windows so harshly that I had to spend 30 minutes in 95 degree weather during my lunch break to remove it all. I looked down the row of cars on my street and some people also tried removing the advertisements but they also stuck completely to their windshields. You will not be getting my business. Let's start with logistics: I visited this club on a Thursday night. The cover was $15. I'm not from NC, so I'm not sure if the front door was a scam. They talked about it being a private club, state law, blahblahblah. The cover was 10 and membership 5. Maybe that's a real thing maybe not. Pretend it's a $15 cover. If you don't want to pay $15 don't go. If you are cool with $10 but not $15, I don't understand you, but you should probably workshop your life decisions a little more. I paid $9 for a glass full of capt with a splash of coke. It was delicious. Would drink again. If you like to sit back and chill while naked girls dance on a stage, this is not your happy place. For the hour I spent there I saw about 20-30min of topless dancing. Also, not full nude, but that doesn't surprise me when I stray from home. Very little activity at the stage. I didn't tip there so I have no idea what happens if you do (no one else went to the stage either). Table dance was 10. Private was 30. It was a quick upsell. 150 services were on the offer quick, but I can't speak to the value of that selection. I ordered something private at 30. There was an quick upsell there and I find myself in for 60. We might have gone there anyway, so I'm not mad. After I burn up 60, there is a parade of girls offer 2 for 40. Sounds like that is a regular thing, so the joke's on me. The private dance area is private enough. There is an upstairs which I didn't visit. It was "the same price." Now let's talk about feelings: The neighbor is medium sketchy. The drive is down some unlit roads, but it's close to the airport. There is some vaguely industrial work happening nearby during the day. The street dead ends and you pull up to a nice well lit parking lot. It is a big white building that reminds me a little of a Colombian drug lord's cousin's guest house with less pool. The front door situation was ok. At least if I have to hear a sales pitch for a $15 cover, they were polite. There's a coat check so maybe leave your hardware at home. From start to finish, the staff were very friendly. Might be the first time in my life that I shook hands with strip club staff. I take my drink and find a nice spot to sit. There is a good amount of seating but with the stage front and center, some seats are better than others. I liked the girls at this establishment. None of them really looked like porn stars or anything like that. They had a good blend of superficial traits you might like in a girl you meet somewhere with impending nudity. It seems like you could walk down the street and pick up the first ten or twenty girls that caught your eye, you would get these girls. If you're the type to walk in to a strip club and complain about the hotness of girls there, then this crowd might not be to your liking. But if you often find yourself in the audience of a shoe show, you might appreciate the subtle cuteness and freshness of talent (ask me later what that means). They were not the kind of girls that magazines tell you to see as beautiful but the are the kind of girls that remind you to be beautiful. The stage situation goes like this: one girl dances on stage near the pole. One or more girls dances in the orchestra pit around the stage (there is no orchestra, calm down, nerds). When I say "dance" it's more of a hypothetical. Virtually no pole work. Artistry was low, athleticism was poor. It seemed like the girls dancing were on break. Most of the time they danced with their clothes on. I found it easier to find some naked girls if I creep up on a table dance. Don't do that. The whole show was a disappointment. It was almost bad enough that I couldn't get exciting that they take their gear off. The good stuff was all in extra services... Let's discuss that. I spent a very small number of minutes watching the "show" when I was approached by a cute young blond girl. She sidles up and immediately drops some personal attention on me. We talked about music (apparently the EDM scene is legit in Raleigh, but Throwback Thursday is all about 90s music and she would have none of it). She gave me some aggressive eye contact. The kind of eye contact that is alluring and unsettling at the same time. I opted to spend some private time with her. She tried hard but her dance skills didn't get better when she got closer. We had a deep spiritual connection so I had a good time anyway. I've paid for many services and extras at such places. I felt that dollars moved quicker here than other places I've been. When it was all over, my cash was gone and I couldn't quite reconcile where it went. I've definitely spent more elsewhere, but it feels more expensive when everything worth doing is an extra charge. Bargain shoppers should steer clear. Appearance of the girls, I would give 3 stars The show: 1 star Atmosphere: 3 stars Value: 2 stars Extras: 3 stars Overall, I would reluctantly give 3 stars. If you find yourself heading down an ominous looking dead-end street, you are on the right path! But for all that creepiness leading up to it, I have to say CC is actually a nice, clean little club on the inside. My point of comparison is The Men's Club -- and for me (sorry to be the sole nay-sayer!) this just couldn't compete. It's a lot smaller in size and in stage space, which leaves it feeling a little cramped and without much elevated ground for the ladies to strut their stuff. And there are no cage stages! There is a second floor, but I didn't have an opportunity to inspect it. I will say we managed to get two tables on a Friday night -- almost impossible to do at TMC, which is always packed. But that's about where I stop being impressed. Highballs are $9, bottled beers are $7; and the bar-back cocktail waitress that night paid a LOT more attention to filling men's drink orders than women's (hey -- we tip too!). The real kicker for me though was that the feature act, advertised to come on at 11 (and the announcer periodically commenting that she would be on "soon") did not go on stage until midnight! Are you kidding me? The whole reason I'd gone was to see the headliner. But I had to wait through an hour's worth of the house girls before her show. (Some of them were really talented on the pole. But others were 'meh' on stage -- so ultimately, I was glad we were able to avoid the $10 cover with a coupon.) And as it turns out, the Aussie Bombshell wasn't even any good. She's billed as the industry's only burlesque magic act. But the magic part was about 5 minutes long (before she went into her strip routine) and mostly consisted of her pulling multiple scarves out of an 'empty' bag. The last scarf she pulled out read "The End" -- but she held it up facing her, so to the audience, it actually read: dnE ehT. FAIL. Which just about sums up my first impression. read more

So, I'm not going to call out names in who was there with me, since in Raleigh this may still be considered a little taboo. However, it's been years since I have been to a...performance oriented lounge like this, and I had a blast. First, let me say that my experience in places like this is limited to Miami locations which can offer a wide variety of quality. Capital Cabaret is surprisingly clean, polite, and, shall I say it...upstanding. There were no scams, the performers were not pushy but only friendly. I actually felt bad because I think the performers' demeanor was costing them tips, so I was obliged to make sure they knew they were appreciated. Seriously, dancing on stage would be one of my worst nightmares, so kudos. Some of the dancers were passionate about what they did, some not so much (one shout out - Jane W., thank you for pointing out the lack of commitment in one case!). Overall, the staff made it worthwhile. To close out, I would go back. Even though I am a straight woman, there's something about being in such a charged environment. I love the male shows they have once a year and I feel comfortable being there with just about anyone. It's classy and respectful. The staff are welcoming and are good at recognizing when folks are just there to see what it's all about. I've had a salad there and it was nice and fresh as well. I've always been a little weirded out by reviewing "gentlemen's clubs", to be honest, but what the hell. It's not like I'm trying to pretend I don't go! Hit up CC with a group of 7 on Sunday night. First off, I have to say that it is kind of lame to have a $10 cover, for LADIES, on an "off" night like a Sunday. I don't mind paying covers of $10 or more on a Friday or Saturday, or if you have a featured performer, but $10 is a lot for a Sunday. Not to mention, women should always pay less than men to get into a place like this. JMO! Second, this place could use some additional cocktail waitresses- we sat down and nobody ever came over to ask if we wanted anything, so we had to go to the bar. No big deal, but I can think of other clubs in the area where you feel like you're being waited on hand and foot compared to this place. The bartender was kind enough to let us know the specials ($2 Bud Light bottles, $5 shots of Blueberry vodka). I did ask how much it would cost to bump up to vodka bombs, and was told they would be $10 apiece. HOLY UPCHARGE, BATMAN. $5 for a shot of vodka.. $5 for 20% of a $3 can of Red Bull.. do the math here, that makes no sense. Fortunately I am just alcoholic enough to drink my vodka straight so I was able to get a beer AND a round of shots for my table for a very reasonable price. The entertainment was decent; some girls better than others, as expected, but the sets were nice and long and only one girl on stage at a time. This is nice because if someone comes onstage who doesn't suit your tastes, you have plenty of time to hit the bathroom, have a cigarette, get a drink from the bar, check out the upstairs, etc.. Speaking of the upstairs I really enjoy the VIP vibe of the area, but there was nobody up there and it seemed pointless to be so far away from the live entertainment so I guess I only recommend the main floor unless you are there on a busier night! read more

I can't bring myself to give a "cabaret" 5 stars, however the place was very clean and as my husband put it "hardly smelled like stripper"..... (until the end when the high octane cotton candy body spray had been shared a little too much backstage!) I do feel that I need to comment on the one lane, dead end road, with giant potholes and no street lights that you have to take to find this actually quite classy appearing establishment! Once inside, the music is standard fare, some of the "main stage" acts are athletically impressive (some are not....). With the exception of the free *themed* drink of the night, the bar is typically overpriced. I was oddly enough offered cinnamon apples by our lovely waitress.... Even she admitted this was odd....... All in all this was a blast but the "magic" show by Susie Malone was far from the highlight.... If you are traveling on business this is the place to go. The receipt rings up as Capital City Steakhouse, so your company will expense the food. However unless you work for a really awesome company they will not expense the amazing time you will have here. What I suggest is talking to the girl you are interested in for the 2 for ×40 dances every hour If you are on a budget or the private rooms if you have money to spend. Not really a premium over what you would pay at many bars in Raleigh. And the "pour" was generous, IMO. Table dances are on $10. Didn't inquire/experience the "private" area. Cons: Talent is lacking in quantity, diversity and quality. The girls seem nice (all local), but this is a 2nd tier men's club and that's apparent in the talent. Club layout is akward. There's two levels. The upstair is cramped and only has one small stage. The downstair is larger, but the main stage has two tiers with the dancers so high above the crowd they're disconnected from the crowd Not enough wait staff. Went here at 2pm on a Tuesday, I hear weekends are different. Had a vibe much closer to European clubs than American. Theres generally someone on stage, but not always. The real incentive is to bring a woman or two over to your table and spend time together. Pretty chill with intent to tip at the table or get private dances. Don't wait for them to come to you. This is my new hangout. How's that for a review? I only go about once a week, but I'd go more if I could. I can just hang out quietly, or engage in some chit chat, laugh and drink, and make friends. It's really helped me come out of my shell and work on my social skills (which have really taken a hit during quarantine). Everyone is super friendly, especially if you're friendly back. If you go for the drink specials, they're very reasonable, and the food is much better than you might think (although we all know that's not the main attraction). The burger was especially good. When you turn onto the road leading to Capital Cabaret, a scary sinking feeling is sure to come on. Dark, full of potholes, and a dead end sign. I am sure that if I had the window down, I would have heard a banjo playing. But, low and behold, you round a corner and a huge, well lit, classy looking white building comes into view. Stepping inside, you walk past tux dressed valet and doormen, who all said hello. The interior is brand new and clean. All the 'working women' were pleasant, laid back, and not pushy at all. No asking for drinks, no weirdness. A great place for bachelor parties or even couples. The drinks are expensive ($5 for a miller lite), but that pretty standard in my limited experience with this type of establishment. Make sure to grab a copy of the Indy Week before heading over because it has a coupon for free admission in the back. read more

Another stop on my tour of the sin-bins of North Carolina. This place was as nice, clean, and full of hotties as Teaser's in Durham...with a huge crowd (it was amateur night) and many more dancers...but it just never felt great. It's new, and I think they were just trying too hard. Unlike most clubs, CC has a decent wine list, a wide variety of beers, and you can buy drinks for your new best friend for the same price as your own (I remember spending $30 for a ladie's drink at a club in LA a few years back...oh to be so young and naive...). Waitresses were mediocre at best (but still damned hot), and there were these big palookas in suits looking like they'd rather be in fake-mobster-track-pants, just looming and lingering around the back of the room. Nice guys, but why were there five of them...and two bouncers...and two bartenders. Bizarre reality: huge big-screen TV behind the main stage. I can honestly say I've never seen naked women writhing with curling in the background before. I'm not sure if I've acquired a new fetish or if I just need therapy. Private dances were okay, but very businesslike. You get the dance, you pay the girl, tip her a little extra because she's a starving student and might have to sell a kidney to pay for her AA degree and her mom has glaucoma and is living in a cardboard box...and then watch as the palookas make her fork over 50% before they'll let the two of you leave the couch area. Okay, so that's SOP in any club, but at least in most places they have the class to do it out of sight of the guys. One big plus: the couch area is VERY nice, with great privacy and, ingenously, a great view of the main stage. I contacted Erica, their event planner, 6 months ago to inquire about entertainment for my sister's bachelorette party. She maintained communication with me as we got closer to the party, and really blew my away with everything they were going to offer us for the party. Our group of girls had an AMAZING time and we are still all processing it today! From the bottle service, to the bridal gift basket, to the owner thanking us for coming in - I just can't believe how well we were treated!
