Even the bathroom was spotless. From the time we left the dock Captain Dan and his first mate Jack treated us as their guests. The weather changed into a brief storm and Captain Dan shut the boat down to ride it out making sure everyone was safe. When the storm cleared we all caught striped bass keepers that Jack filleted, cleaned and put in plastic bags to take home. We will be going back out on the Salt Shaker again next year.

Novice but enthusiastic offshore fishers with lots of inshore and freshwater experience. This was a first for all of us. We were 40-45 miles offshore all morning in an area with nothing shy of 100 whales, breaching, porpoising, and spouting the entire time. Fogged in for early morning with improving skies all day. The first fish was 38-40" fish that blew up the top water spread when he hit it, amazing. Second fish was right at the max, 70", probably north of 180#s. Captain Dennis had to work to keep us on fish as the wolfpack were pretty finicky near the surface. We called it to go try for striper, and within an hour of fishing for striper, we were maxed out. Boat great, First mate and Capitain great team, fish were the real stars of the day. When we got back, all fish were fileted and prepped for us to portion out and freeze. Still enjoying the spoils at dinner time. Thank you Dennis. We'll be back!!!!

Captain Jeff did not shy away from moving as many times as needed to find the fish, which he did. Each of us caught two or three stripers/blues and pulled in a few skates. In landing the skates (which is apparently something fishermen don't want to do) Jason used the experience to further entertain our curiosity. Skates are ticklish. Yes, that's right--if you tickle their bellies, they curl up around your hand and their mouths look like they're smiling. I may even write a childrens book from the skates' perspective of the bizarre experience of being kidnapped by jigs carrying switchblades, to be tickled on video by humans and then dropped back off at home in the sea, ha! Poor jokes aside, we are already planning our next charter with the delightful family behind First Light and would be remiss not to recommend that any who are reading this do the same.
