Fantastic little gem in the southern highlands of Sydney. We rented a house in Canyonleigh and couldn't believe our luck when we found this place. Given the area is quite remote (moss vale is 20min and bowral 30min away), we had expected to cook each night we were there, which, let's face it, isn't the most awesome thing to be doing on holiday. So after calling them to see if they could arrange a cake for us (it was my wife's birthday), the owner Odin mentioned they could and also did dinner, which we should come along and check out. Friday night is steak night and Saturday wood fire pizza night. His words for both were 'it'll be the best piece of meat you've ever had' and 'I think you might freak out when you taste the pizza'. Unsurprisingly this was enough to convince us to lock both nights in, and we were not disappointed. The food was fantastic and the warm country hospitality made it a trip to remember (you get your drinks from the fridge yourself and mark it down on a bit of paper to pay later under an honesty policy - just the way the world should be!). They even have trivia once a month. The place also doubles as a general store and there is also now a gym there, so they're ticking plenty of boxes. Highly recommended, rent one of the beautiful properties nearby with a group of friends and come here for dinner at night, it's a sensational weekend away. read more
