This truly feels like a place in which everyone is supporting and cheering one another on, even if they don't know you. I guess you could say the culture here is very supportive and kind. The space itself is extremely clean with tons of natural light. It has a really positive, upbeat vibe. The equipment is high quality and everything is in great shape. While it's been a while since I took part in their classes like Muay Tai & Jui-Jitsu, I would highly recommend them for these classes as well. As a woman that has overcome a fair amount of bodily trauma stuff (from experiences unrelated to any sort of gym activities), I always felt like my daughter and I were really safe and supported during these classes.

Another important factor in choosing thrive for me, is the fact that meals are brought to you in minimal environmentally friendly reusable packaging! No guilt about having twenty little plastic bags that go in the landfill, growing your carbon foot print. The weights on the bottom near the boxing ring are mainly free weights,pulley systems, and some machines. All the equipment are pretty close to each other but I didn't mind it. When you first walk-in there are more open racks and a small field to do tire flips or walking lunges etc. the top half is mainly machines and cardio equipment. I was able to use the treadmill and watch some boxing matches which was pretty cool! The men's bathroom/locker room was pretty standard and clean. I went on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't too crowded. I was able to use any machine that I wanted to without waiting. Overall a really cool experience and well taken care of gym.

When I first start going to the gym, I was so excited because crunch is an amazing gym with an…read moreawesome business model. But there are constant problems on the maintenance side of things. Often times there's no soap in the soap dispensers in the men's room, the men's urinal, there's only one, hasn't been working for six weeks, machines breakdown and they don't fix them, and pads where you put your legs or arms are totally worn through the viny! deep into the padding, and it will stay like that for months, and still nobody is replacing those. Absolutely pathetic. EDIT: I finally canceled my membership here, but they kept charging me, and when I would reach out to ask for the manager, Josh, I was always told he was busy or not available. I spoke directly with the assistant manager about the situation, he told me he totally understood, and he would personally work on getting my refund. When I called for him again, I was told that he moved to Tennessee to take over a Crunch Fitness gym, but when I would call to ask if he would follow up on what he promised me he would do, I was told that he was in training for a few weeks and I couldn't speak with him. I found out that his brother was a manager at the gym in Tennessee, I left multiple messages for him, I spoke with multiple people at that gym, and I never could hear back from anybody. I finally went into the Madison Wis. location and spoke directly with the new manager, Josh, he said he would take care of everything by that Friday, in four days, but weeks later nothing had happened. I emailed and called the facility a total of 22 times, and my money was finally refunded to me. And this was months after I had cancelled my membership...

Went there today. Have been a member for over three years now. There was literal poop smeared on a…read moretoilet seat, the floor of the stall, and a trail of poop leading out of the stall. Every single stall had toilet paper on the floor of it. How does it get so dirty??? I'm genuinely confused. The middle sink of the women's locker room has not worked in over a year. The paper towels and bottles for cleaning equipment are empty well over half the times I am there. This place is disgusting. Literally only go there because it is affordable and in close proximity to where I live. Can't wait to be able to afford somewhere clean.

Matt, the owner and head coach, monitors each client's progress over time and never allows shenanigans in his gym (well, maybe the fun ones). Whether you are far from your prime and looking to get back in shape, or if you're an aspiring Froning, Matt has a place for you in his gym. Like any affiliate, the cost is higher than you will pay at a Gold's. However, you get what you pay for. Crossfit can be the most expensive gym membership you hold, or it can be the best personal training for your buck, bar none. When I started training there, I wasn't pressured to lay down the plastic, and as a result I was happy to do so when the time came. This ain't an ad kids, feel free to come in any given afternoon and you'll see me training there. Meet Matt and some of the other 1847 denizens, and jump in a workout when you're ready. You'll be glad you did.

I never though it would be for me but I am so glad that i finally gave it a try. After 6 months here I can say that I ahve never felt like I am in better shape. Plus the people here are all fantastic and supportive no matter what you fitness level is. Matt will work with you to learn what your fitness goals are and how to reach them. He takes the time to make sure every person in his box know what they are doing before letting them tackle any kind of lifts. He does a great job programming work out that build on Olympic lifts, conditioning and gymnastic skills.
