My love of this branch is probably 85% based on convenience and 3% Stockholm Syndrome. Overall,…read moreAkron has an absolutely incredible public library system, and I've definitely been to branches that skeeve me out more than Firestone Park ever could. I also wonder what this branch has seen because the cop manning the branch always has this look of suspicion on his face. I'm glad the librarians have protection, but I've never seen a look of such disdain from someone eating an English muffin. Akron Public Libraries has a great online portal and their own app, so checking out books is such a convenience. Firestone Park might not a ton of books that pertain to my interests, but it's so easy to get one delivered to them. Also I've been out of ink toner since 2016 so printing services there are also something I'm grateful to have access to. I can't say enough good things about the library.

Yelpers listen here!…read more I absolutely love this library location!! The librarians are super sweet and super amazing at finding the information you need. They patiently ask questions until they have found the closest answer to the information you have requested. They have amazing activities for the youth, even an animal show where we can touch the animals!! I even got a free T-shirt in a reading contest and so did my youth! Please go here for any fun you may want, you will definitely be blessed!

The artist featured was Nancy? The paintings were colorful and bright. Our 1 yr old grandson especially liked an aquatic theme painting. Many of the paintings have a price tag and are for sale. The Children's play area was a little cramped but offered many choices. Felt a little enclosed by massive stacks but still a nice area. book selection for toddlers was very good.

They also have a notary service, which was very convenient for me when I needed something notarized in a pinch. The only slight issue is the parking.....the lot is small and fills up fast, so chances are you may have to park across the street. But that is such a minor detail. Everything else about this library is top notch!

We haven't actually made it past the entry way to even rate the rest of the experience because the library was "too full" and only half my family could go inside and it was closing soon. The marker has the same text on both sides. It reads, "Industrialist and entrepreneur Franklin Augustus Seiberling (1859-1955) named his fledgling rubber goods manufacturing company "Goodyear" to honor Charles Goodyear, the man who invented the vulcanization process for curing rubber. Seiberling founded the company with his brother, Charles Willard, because of their desire to participate in an enterprise that afforded an "opportunity for invention." Incorporated in 1898, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company rapidly grew with the young automotive industry and helped establish Akron as the "Rubber Capital of the World." Among Seiberling's many significant inventions were the tire-making machine and the detachable wheel rim. He resigned from Goodyear in 1921 and went on to found the Seiberling Rubber Company. Stan Hywet Hall, F.A. Seiberling's estate in west Akron, is a National Historic Landmark." This is marker number 23-77. It was erected in 2003 by The Ohio Bicentennial Commission, Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens, Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, and The Ohio Historical Society.
